I picked up the car about 6 weeks ago. I’m in Quebec Canada. I assume the process is the same everywhere, I called a couple of dealers to get it inspected. Once I settled on one and it passed inspection I asked to speak with someone in the sales department about an extended warranty. Since the car passed inspection I was able to pick up a 4 year 40k warranty. 7 years was also offered but I didn’t think it was necessary.
I did something similar with my first gt350. However I couldn’t find a good extended warranty. But I wasn’t too stressed bc it was still under factory warranty and had gen 2 engine. It does give you alot more enjoyment driving this car when you have that warranty though
17r with 2.9 whipple 18k running strong 💪
Nice!
Nice honest review. I would not be upset at all if you told me it was a Gen2 Engine. I have a Heritage “R”. I’ll never sell it. Thanks for sharing your experience. Best Regards. 🤙🤙😎🐍🐍🐍
PS: Do you do the oil priming procedure if she sits for awhile?
OH awesome car man! I woulda gone for one of those heritage if I could of found one. I dont put a whole lot of miles on her, but i make an effort not to let her sit too long. I'll start it up once or twice a month in the winter months, then in the driving seasons take it out a couple times a week.
@@AlexanderJawfox When you have a minute. Check out The Driver Mod on YT. He has the oil priming procedure on his channel. It’s really easy and you don’t dump raw fuel in the crankcase if your not going to drive her. Better to do that once a month instead of starting her if your not going to get the oil over 160.
@@RichGT350r I’ll do that. Thanks for the info
@@AlexanderJawfox Anthony is a good guy. Tracks his GT350. And has a wealth of great info. Give him a follow. Is GT350 Guys are a tight common YT. Conner. Yellow Hammer Garage is another good guy.
Great story. Don’t forget to add your catch cans Bro. It’s a simple safety mod for the 350 even on the Gen 2’s.
I appreciate ya. Yeah I’ve been looking into that. Would you recommend passenger and diver side?
@@AlexanderJawfox Yeah I would do both.
have a 17 , no issues so far, but it only has 6k miles on it. Purchased an extended warranty thats good until 2028!
That’s awesome, good going with that warranty. I feel like if something was gonna happen it would’ve already.
Great video , keep em
Coming , it’s hard to find good quality videos on these cars anymore
@@IndyKat1 I’ll definitely make some more 🎥 and thank ya.
@indykat1 where and how and what did you get your warranty ?
White and blk is the best combo
I agree. I also love the avalanche and leadfoot grey colors
R is the only way to go.
Why - what does it have?
Time for you to get some American racing headers and a full corsa system.
I’d love to do some modifications one of these days. But I don’t wanna hurt the stock nature of her either.
There is no “Gen 1” or “Gen 2” engine model for the R engine, is that correct? I have a 2016 R,
Nice. From my understanding All the gt350 engines are the same, but the gen 2 engines nomenclature all say gt350r even on the standard 350.
There is a gen1 and gen2 for both the R and non R
I wanted a 2017 avalanche gray R, but I couldn’t get past that gen 1 voodoo. So, I ended up buying a 2020 R
Avalanche is my favorite color and iconic silver. But white is growing on me. Yours looks🔥 is that performance blue?
How has the gen 2 been treating you and would you recommend buying it without having any worry about oil consumption?
@@Sam_beydoun it hasn’t given me any issues at all. If you don’t want worry about oil consumption buy a 19-20 gt350 or a 16-18 with a gen 2 put in by Ford company.
The R cars will be collectible I believe.. 3300 Demons were made this year. 3000 R cars were made in 5 years. Our cars will bottom out in the next 5 years but will do well long term I believe. All that said I’m not saving the experience for the next person. Enjoy that car!!
Thank you! I’m hoping so. I know those demons are mean and fast (and way faster) just something about this car appealed to me. So I’m hoping it is some sort of collectible or something special in the future.
😎👌🏻💯
Win win
Thanks it was frustrating but worked out in the end
I’d be happy about the swap
Yeah I’m really happy about it. Finally broke in the engine I’m happy to start getting the rpm up
Which model u have 2016b
its a 2018
Why the engine broken?
??????
Fyi.. gen 1 engine failure rates are below 1%
I woulda figured it was a little higher but looking at forums it appears you are correct. I think there woulda been recalls had there been higher production numbers on these cars. I’m glad they offered the gen 2 and warranty replacements for these unique engines.
