- Appreciate you all watching!
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 possesses a wide variety of quests but none are quite as tedious or difficult to complete as "Uniting The Seven Nopon" which ultimately unlocks the ability to upgrade your Main Characters Blades.
This guide is designed to show you how to complete this quest as well as where to find all of the Origin shards necessary to Upgrade your weapons. By the end of this video, you should have all of the info needed to upgrade each and every weapon đ

For anyone wondering about the stat boost:
I upgraded Sena's hammer, her stats went up as follows Attack 1300 to 1438, Crit 30% to 36%, and Block 14% to 17%. I have completed Noah/Mio/Sena weapon all have given boost.
Basically Atk+10.6% Crit+6% Blk+3%
Its heavily implied that Riku's master was Shulk. Fun little fact
wait fr? how?
how so?
Few things, he refers to his Masterpon as a great engineer and was the one that forged Lucky Seven, which happens to look like a Monado. Also Riku and Melia clearly know eachother with that little nod they give. Shulk was also a founder of Keves as seen with his statue in the City.
@@fishnutz5196 You're almost right. Lucky Seven is the katana, not the blade Noah uses.
@@Caffrey90 I'm pretty sure the other statue (with the cape) represents Shulk. The text mentions a "red sword" when you interact with it. Also, its directly across what I assume is Rex's statue.
ah yes, Xenoblade and perpetual grind always goes hand in hand
thanks for the guide~!
To be fair, this is not exactly grind, taking into account that this rather rewards exploration rather than repeating certain action multiple times (Origin shards do not drop when you kill single UM multiple times, do they?)
@@lentinant I think they do but I think you can get all the required shards without grinding, I think you can do it either way I could be wrong though
Thanks so much for this guide, I didnât even know you could do this until my friend told me about it. I really love the enhanced weapon designs, especially Lanzâs, they are big glow ups
Note for everyone: Superbosses are an infinite source of Origin Shards. I fought one and got an Origin Shard despite me activating it from its grave.
Is it a ramdom shape or alwais the same?
Is it possible to farm these from bursts?
Yes, I believe so.
@@200Yay thank you!!
My mistake, I thought this was about Nopon Coins. I sadly donât know, however you could give it a try.
Canât lie Iâve been coming back to this video for days doing all these quests I skipped a lot of side content in the game and am super happy to get to play it all, I will always come back to this game to do whatever I can itâs to amazing to be done with
It's so dumb how they introduce the canon fact that the main party can switch around their weapons, but the upgrades are somehow unique to the original wielder.
It doesn't make a lot of sense I know, hopefully they can update this at some point
@@ArinJager1 .......we literally see them swap everything and even get glimpses of every skill. Please be a wierd low IQ game grumps fan elsewhere.
@@ArinJager1 yeah, that makes sense story wise but gameplay wise that's dumb and it's not fun, and it just makes the quest not worth the effort at all really, even more so since the only good starting classes are mio and sena's so it's worth it for them. But that's it.
@@CRAgamer all classess are good*
Zephyr and Ogre are exceptionally good but the balancing of classess in this game is great.
@@TheSast Lanzs default class can barely get aggro with how slow it is, taions default class Is supposed to be an evasion buff healer, but it's the only thing he can do, Eunie is a dedicated healer through and through but there's two later classes that do a better job and noah....I'll give you Noah, it's fairly good at what it does.
Ah perfect, 50 hours of playing chapter 7 and I absolutely do not want to finish it to avoid crying. The new blades are really cool
So you would chose to live in the eternal Now?
He's preserving the endless now
â@@Siriusangelhowler After you kill Z in game, aren't you brought back to, canonically, a little bit before the fight? Isn't that just the true "Endless Now"?
The part with fixifixi was infuriating but also a very big proof that xenoblade 3 doesn't leave any plot points unresolved, I can't remember a single plot point that wasn't answered and that is impressive
What Noah renamed his sword to?
@@SuperCrazyfin Now that I finished the game I can come back to this comment, yes, there's some plotholes
That is one of them, beside Crys, that wouldn't make sence I can't find a name that would fit the sword, it's implied that N named his lucky seven as well so it would need to be a name that both him and Noah could come up with
Another plothole is the black fog, all we know about it is that when a moebius' core is broken it releases black fog and that when moebius interlink for too long they create an annihilation event
Other than that we don't know why annihilation events happen, it's something that's just answered by it randomly does, while I think that it could have a cooler meaning like when a region in both worlds collide there's an annihilation event, now that I have full context I know that that wouldn't make sence due to the origins of Aionios, but still, that's still not answered
Last plothole I can think about is the importance of the core of a moebius, in N's battle in agnus castle, X gives importance to N's core breaking but then that's never followed up with a meaning, why is the core so important to give story importance, does it heal naturally, etc.
Other than that I think there's not many plot holes, I don't remember the other xeno games very well so I won't say how this one fares in comparison but I think that 3 plot holes in the whole game is pretty good
Thanks man! I need to do this!
Happy to help đ
Real shame the boost doesn't apply to the rest of the classes that character uses.
Really no point for Eunie to use her initial class all that much.
I agree but they at least show up in cutscenes and animations so you may still see them regularly
Eunies initial class is actually pretty nice depending on how you use it. It has a skill that increases the amount of time field skills last, which is really useful especially when combined with the flag bearer classes "all about support" skill and troubadour's "ring of roses" art. Plus power ring is pretty unique.
@@Spark31Gaming power ring is decent but with how busted you can make DPS chars on their own theres no point in the additional atk up. Better to swap it out with utility.
Taion and Lanz also donât really want to be using their initial classes
BULLLL I did the entire game on NG+ with fully upgraded starter classes and Eunie definitely pulls me off the worst situations (unlike taion he really fucking sucks as healer on his starter class)
So there is a map, thank goodness, there are some chests and areas I donât know how to reach.
I had exactly enough to make them all at once when I first unlocked them, I'm so glad I didn't have to hunt them down
Funny enough I had all the prequisites ready to go by the time I encountered the 7 nopon
Same, I upgraded all weapons in one go.
Same, I just couldn't find some of them because there are no quest markers on the map.
With DLC 3 dropped
Origin Shards will no longer be a pain to find because you can now farm them in Challenge Battles!
if you do a NG+
Lucky was able to upgrade nearly everyone in one go, just missing 1 hexagonal orig shard time to use your interactive map to find where I haven't collected.
I freak'n love this game
The locations of the Nopons were overall not that hard to figure out once I paid attention to the Affinity Chart. All legendary Nopon have ??? for their age (it is heavily implied that they are absolutely ancient considering that Riku seems to have mysterious ties to Queen Melia when freeing her from Origin) and are very closely together on the chart. You also can see the hammers on their profile art on the charts and most of them you meet beforehand while naturally questing. Fixifixi is the one big exception where his location is heavily locked behind multiple side quests which was pretty annoying once I found out, but I had at least progressed long enough on Segiri's questline as to not be a massive pain.
Personally I like the idea behind the quest, but considering the time effort as well as it being achievable so late into the game it feels like you don't get to savour the moment before the end of the story. Plus, the upgrade is very limiting because it is locked to each character the class belongs to. Personally I would have preferred it if all classes were allowed to upgrade their weapons like this while introducing the quest much earlier into the story with less requirements as to get another incentive to hunt unique monsters and explore during the last half of the chapters (should have been a new mechanic introduced around the time we entered the City for the first time).
It's a bit annoying that there is no quest marker for the nopons. If they didn't want to hold our hand they could've made a discussion scene where the characters at least try to recall which nopons they've met with an ultimate hammer to give players a bit of clues without straight up telling us where to go. It's a bit frustrating because everything in this game has a quest marker except these.
Sucks to be whoever didn't explore the world mid story, because I like to hunt UM so I often get origin shards (smol note I had 150+ shards in chapter 5)
Wow I didn't even know this was a thing and I just beat the game too lol
I didn't know this was a thing
Once again, xenoblade ng+ makes every cutscene hilarious.
In what way? I mean I like the idea that Sena is stabbing people with those spikes
@@JBspherefreak Having weapons and abilities you shouldnât have early in the game or having access to certain abilities when you shouldnât.
So I completed this quest and upgraded Noah's weapon. Sadly the upgraded sword doesn't seem to appear on theater mode. Haven't played new game plus yet though so I'm certain the cutscenes will have the upgraded sword instead
Maybe its just me but for how cool the idea is it doesn't really make sense as
You might not use the base classes
As they're hard locked to one role while hero Classes are Hybrid Roles
I am 2/3 of the way through upgrading all the weapons, putting off wrapping story up till I do so though. Is it random what shards are dropped or do certain monsters drop certain ones?
Fuck me. The switch in the bin really tickled me lol
Are you aware if the upgrade boosts work when changing classes, or say, if you upgrade Noah's sword, you HAVE to have Noah as his original class to get the benefit?
Only the original classes get the bonus.
I love Xenoboob Coomicles 2+3.
Are there any other pre-requisites for this quest? I have grey did his ascension quest and am in postgame after origin. Mr. Samon just isn't in sentridge harbor
Figured it out, you need culinary repertoire (riku and manana's ascension quest) completed
I completed the game's story and got every colony and hero but somehow missed this completely
Wish I knew what to do with the leftover shards
Need help, eunie is all that's left to upgrade, any idea where do I find at least 4 round origin shards?
The Uniting the Seven Nopon quest is just plain not showing up for me for some reason. I'm wondering if it's cause I'm on the post game now...
I could have sworn the quest itself mentioned that the changes were purely cosmetic...
No way noah's sword becomes the xenoblade
Can anyone please tell me where all the origin shards are? I literally need ONE rectangular shard and can't find one anywhere. I've been looking for hours.
I'm on my way to Colony Omega, so I know basicly all the places that's depicted (yeah, *I'm in chapter 6 still and I'm pretty bitter for what the consul did with Mio,* because I did not see the Uno reverse card coming). I don't know if I have screwed myself out of these upgrades though, because I already have some side quests like "Writer's block" done in chapter 6. We'll see as I do have alot of these odd shapes from bashing in Unique monsters for my soul hacker class.
It's unlocked after Chapter 7 so you good
@@JBspherefreak OK thanks, will get there eventually =P. Chapter 6 so far was wild. Consul versions of Noah and Mio (consul N and M), Consul M basicly never had a say in this and was just dragged along to becoming a Moebius, because N couldn't take the rebirth system anymore. During that battle I knew consul M's ability was to invade on a person's conscience, however I did not think they would straight out swap the conscience between our Mio and consul M. So that made me really bitter during the cutscenes of Mio being forced into her homecoming. I did not see that swap coming untill Mio was gone and suddenly consul M gave him the white flute meant for Mio, then it clicked of "wait did they swap bodies?". So that UNO reverse was glorious when consul N realised he forced the homecoming on his version of Mio (consul M) instead. I thought the way they were going to fix it was consul M betraying N, but this body swapping, so we still have Mio's real conscience, was way better.
Also Shania is crazy for being willing to sacrifice an entire city, the city being a ferronis was also well planned, don't tell me, but I think Shania will come back in some shape or form.
@@melvindekkers6105 You are right on the money with the last part, in fact, Shania essentially one of the most divisive characters in XBC3.
@@PJDAltamirus0425 Yeah I have done Sena's sidestory at this point of time, so I know about Shania and her family.
What should I do with my leftover Origin Shards after upgrading all of their Blades?
Now is there a way to switch the appearance back for immersion in new game plus
So I donât know if Iâm just dumb but for the life of me I canât find the shards. Iâm talking about the ones you just find not by monsters
4:11
Man Iâm dead
oh so that's what the shards are for
Indeed
how do you make the updgrsde weapons apear in cutscenes ? mine doesnt
Where do you find panepane after you do his quest is completed
It just has to do with the first time you beat the Unique Monsters right? I didnât defeat a single UM in my original playthrough. Since Iâm in New Game + now will the UMâs drop Origin Shards since itâs my first time defeating them?
I believe only late game unique monsters drop the shards. You could have foughten unique monsters in the early chapters and been fine.
The only weapons worth upgrading honestly are mio and sena's. So it's recommended those are chosen first.
You should upgrade all of them if you got enough shards. There's no other use for these shards after all.
I've done all of them but sena, and eunie.
How do we get shards of a certain type ? i'm looking for rectangular shards but i can't find them
I don't think there's a simple way sadly, I think all locations are pre-determined so at some point someone may have a list of which UM's drop which kind but for now, there is no easy way
Does the upgraded blades carry over to new game plus
This was my favorite side quest other than a spoiler one that I won't go into here
I don't get how its a spoiler considering it has LITERALLY nothing to do with the spoiler
@@JBspherefreak ?
I really don't like how they give an upgrade mechanic like this but it's endgame content
How do I get the robot girl? She's my last needed hero! I have em all except for her if she is the last hero. Well besides smol baby Ethel but she's just a small bean and not silvercoat Ethel
Thanks for the spoiler warning. I'll come back when I'm near the end
No worries, this is all unlocked during Chapter 7 so once you get to the boat section in that chapter, then this video is relavant
@@JBspherefreak thank you again
The cutscene at the end where its noahs team vs mios how come the upgrades are showing? Ive gone in the cutscene viewer with some upgrades and didnt have them show :/
For whatever reason, they do not show up in the events theatre đ© I have no idea why but if you do NG+, then they will show up
@@JBspherefreak thats annoying then i guess. Hopefully in an update they give the choice in the theatre and allow the upgrades to be cosmetic looks so everyone can use them and change them back
I think i messed up or missed the moment to get to talk to the Prison Nopon. Imi already in Chapter 7 and backtracked to the Prison to try to talk to that Nopon. He never replies back so I guess I missed out on talking to him from freeing the prison from the Warden
You need to have Valdi equipped as your Hero of choice
@@JBspherefreak yes I fucking know that. Even when I have Valdi on my team where Im already in Chapter 7 i had to backtrack to some areas to wrap up on some sidequests. That stupid Prison Nopon doesnt even say anything at all even when I have Valdi on my team. Like I said, I messed up on not talking to that Nopon at the right time or something when I had to deal with the Prison Warden in the previous chapters
To be fair, as "ultimate weapon", this one kinda sucks. I don't really like "let's put more spikes on it" approach. I haven't seen Taion or Lanz improved weapon, but among other characters, the only cool change in design is Eunie's staff-gun.
The designs are near the end of the video, if you watched it.
Can you change the visuals of the sword upgrade? Like if I want to upgrade Noah's sword but want to keep his old sword design, is that possible?
Not as far as I am aware no
â@@JBspherefreak that's a bit upsetting
I played the game, played the dlc and while playing the dlc I was like "why doesn't the main game have this upgrade mechanic?" Then I saw this video. Wtf
*small spoiler for end-game*
I have a few questions, one, will the Origin Shards respawn if you teleport to another region and then back to the same spot or once you collected it, itâs gone?
Second: In New Game+, will killing the unique monsters again still count as the first time you kill them?
For both, the answer is no. Origin Shards are an item that do not respawn and do not return in NG+ so there isn't an easier way to get them sadly. Best bet is to keep track of which UM's you've taken down so you can get the rest
@@JBspherefreak Do you know if Colony Affinity (the stars) stay in NG+? Is quest completion carried over, and if so, do they provide Affinity for the Colonies again?
Samon quest is not show up for me? I'm in Chapter 7 and finished The ultimate Vessel but the quest does not show up.
Yeah same here I have no idea how to find it
same so yeah this dude here in this video pretty much telling bullsh.... actually you need to finish the riku & menana quest CULINARY REPERTOIRE too to actually unlock that quest. before making guides learn to actually have a clue about the game man
@@shishiroONE oooooo thank you so much!!
1:32 Whats the name of the song?
Does the attack boost carry over to if your a different class?
I'm pretty sure it's just for the starting classes
It's just to bring the starting classes closer to late game classes balance wise.
Do you need to defeat every unique monster to get the shards?
No, as I mentioned in the video, not everyone required but you will need most, I needed to deafest all UMâs in all regions but Cadensia one to have enough
@@JBspherefreak thanks
Sorry but what is the name of the theme at the end please.
Not sure on any songs exact names at the moment as I'm not sure which are official but I found this one under "The Ultimate Vessel" OST
@@JBspherefreak Thank you
I read from an nintendolife guide that the upgrade is purely cosmetic. Is it true?
Nope donât believe your news sites like Nintendolife cos most of the time theyâre wrong đ each upgrade does effect your stats but only slightly
How and when you had the time to upgrade them all lol

Prolly should change the thumbnail. This is my first time even knowing about upgrades and that the sword looks like that when upgraded
I have changed the thumbnail (for now) but it isn't a spoiler, it has nothing to do with the story and is unlocked via an annoying sidequest, hence the guide
@@JBspherefreak ah cool thanks. The series usually ties main story blade upgrades to big events so my bad
People will always cry about spoilers, even if it is none
@@Th3RazieI i mean xenoblade is a story focused series. And the games aren't short by any means so any potential spoiler, which in xenoblade 1 and 2, an upgraded sword is a major spoiler, is something to be noted. Like the game hasn't even been out long lol
@@Th3RazieI poor guy gives us detailed help and it's just a bunch of people bitching about seeing the upgraded sword like bruh
Damn itâs almost like the devs enjoy watching us go on these fetch quests and multiple quests that help unlock other stuff. And here I thought unlocking Camavatti and Ethel was bad. This quest is worst. XC3 is still a good game in my opinion.
The quest is long yes BUT I like how it returns to the lore of lucky seven and gives you a pretty cool reward
im not enjoying it so far, it feels like a long tutorial
I can't find burrburr or panepane

Absolute waste of an opportunity for a proper upgrade system
