Do you think it would be a good idea for me to get a DJI mini 2 se? I’m only worried because it doesn’t have any obstacle avoidance features. And also I’m 12 with no drone flying experience, but I do have big RC planes, and I have a good level of experience on them. Please reply to me back on your opinion, thanks! 😊

Man. I took mine out for the first real run. Been waiting for a nice beach day with weather and low wind. I learned a valuable lesson in that wind speeds on the ground can be significantly less than up high. My first outing and I thought I lost my drone. Got to an altitude and suddenly it just took off. Went higher than all the high rise condos. Got so high I couldn’t even see it anymore and I couldn’t tell from looking at the HUD if I was even controlling it at all. Thank god for that auto return. I manually initiated it and after an agonizingly long time, it finally came back. Got some really nice high altitude shots but wow was that scary. 😀
Yes! That does sound scary 😟 I’m glad that you got it back. Another thing to be aware of is wind direction, that can be misleading and an easy way to lose your drone. I explain a lot of these concepts in my drone course, check it out: www.fearlessdrone.academy 👈

@@DansTubeTV I'm a pilot. One thing we learn is the the wind ALWAYS blows up high. Ground winds are usually nothing like the winds aloft!

Tip 5 digital zoom. Hold down the programmable function button on controller, then use the gimble wheel for a smoother digital zoom.

Exactly my situation with the Mini 2. Is it still possible to purchase insurance for a replacement on this device? Guy said he unbinded the account, but never did. It would be nice to receive a new replacement, as he lied about some errors that weren't apparent when first flown. Just an intermittent ESC error. Now other things I'm hoping to solve. @_AlienPhotography_

The DJI Mini2 SE is my first drone. I am amazed at this little drone. For the price I cant imagine anything better. My second flight I flew it to the river and old church on a hill about 2 mile. Its very easy to know where drone is at all times.

You should be able to, press the icons in the bottom left near the map interface to change between the different views.

Scared to death suggestion! When you first get it you want to test/play in the house. If you hit “fly now” you are going up 1.5 meters and hit the ceiling fan (did this). Suggest option, moving the two control handles to start drone without immediately climbing. Great video, thanks!

I think what you mean by "bar down the bottom" is the artificial horizon. If it tilts to one side without any pilot input, that's because the drone's flight control algorithm is banking it toward the wind to counteract drift.

Hey Dan, I have just grabbed the dji mini 3 pro but can’t get active track to work. It doesn’t come up as an option on the RC controller. The wider internet says I have to enable something in the ‘control’ tab but it’s not on the software but is on all other vids I watch. Is there anything I can do to get it going as it was the primary reason I bought it. Cheers.

You could put your phone in a VR headset but I don’t think that the Mini 2 SE is supported on the DJI Goggles.

Am I correct in saying that for the controller symbol to show you need to turn on locations in your phone setting. Untill I turned on this in my phone I was only getting the homepoint and drone symbol. I'm new to this and never operated a drone before so at the moment this is alien. If I'm correct, this information would be good if it was mentioned in these videos.

Just got my drone and I had a question I live in the EU and in a small city but there is an “international airport” that gets about 1 flight a day. If I track the flights and know when the plans are coming in can I still fly, or what is the minimum distance I need to keep from the airport.
In Australia, you can fly a drone within 5.5 nM of the airport if you are not flying in the takeoff or landing path. You can also request authorisation to fly through the DJI Fly app.
Really dig this video. My drone crashed after one day due ot my flying into a tree (newbie pilot for sure lol) and ent it back to DJI for repairs (take the Refresh Care package for 39€ itll save you a lot of trouble and costs) and I cant wait to fly again with these tips!

I think a handy tip would be to tell people how to unbind the drones from the DJI account before they sell it on to somebody else who would get stuck with it and being left in their account

@@DansTubeTV I watched it. I think it’s a bit out of date though I think you can now unbind it on the fly app for the drones that used to fly up and I don’t know if restoring it to factory settings actually unbinds from your account
This is the exact and only reason I bought new and not second hand, this would drive me nuts!
Appreciate you are using the lower end controller. The higher priced RC with the screen may well be vastly superior but for anyone looking at just starting with a drone, overall price point becomes key.

Ok, how do I re-enable audio recording from my phone / controller? I disabled it during setup but would like to have it active. I have a mini 2SE in the US
I don’t believe that you can enable that anymore.
U missed one of my favorite tips, probably the one i have found most useful. Has to do with the zoom. If u hold the FN (function button, i believe it's called), and roll the wheel on your controller, the one u use to make the camera go up and down, it turns it into a zoom function. It's much smoother than trying to use ur finger to do it on the phone. Hope that wasn't too confusing. Take care. 🙂

I couldn't catch how I can get to the "Device Management" menu in the bonus tip. Where is that menu located please.
If you go back from the flight menu and then press on profile. You will find all of your devices.
Does the mi i 2 se give voice aural warning call outs or are warning just displayed on screen?
It will display the details on the screen and vibrate/make a noise but no call-outs.

When I press RTH (even if my max altitude is set to 100m & my home is set) my mini 2SE tells me Landon and it starts to land. It does not return to the home. What am I doing wrong ?
This is my 1st drone
I believe that you need to go into the settings and find the RTH command. It might be set to land instead of RTH.
Great tips but how do you get to the intelligent flight modes like follow me ect.
Follow me is not available on the Mini 2 SE. You can select the mode button on your flight screen above the record button to go into the different flight/recording modes.
i am totally confused by this video there is no where in the mini 2 se settings where you can change the gimbles sensitivity, nor can you change the poi no compass etc ? i also noticed it say at the top mini pro 3 tips and settings yet the description is for the mini 2 se ?
Hmm, make sure that you update your drone. This was captured a few weeks ago on my Mini 2 SE.
@@DansTubeTV it is updated I only got it 5 days ago and the first thing it wanted to do was update the firmware on the controller and also the drone it's self, I can't find any other software for android apart from the software DJI have provided it, the only way I can change the rates on the gimbles is to put it in cine mode, is it possible you have different software to me because I am in the UK maybe mine isn't as up to date as yours ?

I think it's strange you can do 4x zoom in 1080p but only 3x in 2k, as it's digital zoom it would be clearer to zoom in more on the higher resolution.

Just bought one a few days ago. My phone will not download the app, lol. Have to get a compatible phone. Maybe a smaller Samsung tablet?
I would suggest checking which devices are compatible through DJI’s website.
Any ideas on why my exact drone goes out of range after less than 250 metres? Not in a really built up area either
Weird, try changing your transmission channel manually to the one with the least interference (I show you how to do this in my video). Update the firmware. Try flying in new locations. If none of that works then return it.
Is it required to have an activated phone for navigation?
You will need to have an activated phone and DJI account to properly use this drone with the N1 controller.

For #14, the gimble doesn't go above 0 because the sun can damage the camera's sensor.
Interesting, I’m sure that it would be fine to do occasionally. You can adjust the gimbal tilt for low shots.

Can someone tell me how to snap photos? Not record but just a simple still photo.
There is a button on the controller to change between photo and video. Also, on your phone screen through the DJI Fly app, you can swap to the photo options by pressing the mode button on the right side of the screen.

That was truly a great comprehensive and very informative video. For a great entry-level cinematic drone. At a great price. You can see how great it looks. In the right hands.. Or the left. It does not matter. As long as you are good with your fingertips and they are not too fat.
And talking about fat. My friend. Across the pond. You might want to stop tossing back so many pints. You might want to cut back on the fish and chips some? Maybe a few more salads would be good? I fasted yesterday. I feel great today. And now I'm feeling hungry. And I won't overeat. I will have only one beer. Not one half-dozen pints. Because you are getting a bit chunky there. You're going to have a heart attack in a few years. If you're not careful with your health. Aside from standing around and flying drones. It's not like you are flapping your wings much. Even though it might feel like it when you're done with your flight? Yeah no. You were not flapping your wings after all. You were playing with your thumb and index fingers. At they are well exercised I'm sure. You've got good circulation into your fingers. But not to your heart and other parts of your body. You are getting pudgy at such a young age. It's only going to get worse, my friend. You won't make it to 68 like me. Many of my friends in better shape then you didn't. My husband died at 60. And much more trim and physically active. And he ate right. Didn't drink much. And heart attacks got my other friends that were slim and trim. What are you doing? What kind of example do you present here? You are on worldwide television you know? You might want to get one of those boy girdles? I mean you want views I mean ratings don't you? You've got to look the part, my friend. You don't. You look like Benny Hill. And he was funny. You are informative. That's different. You're not making anybody laugh. We need to laugh. As this is an entry-level cinematic drone. And you could have made this much funnier you know? I mean you come from the land of Benny Hill and the Monty Python's not to mention Peter Sellers. I mean come on man? What are we paying you for? Or trying to?
So if got to put a little comedy in with this explanatory descriptor. It can't be all, vittles and gruel. You've got to have some milk and cookies! Where is your funny bone, man? You've already got that British accent down. Give us some Benny Hill background music at least? You know the tune. Diddle diddle diddle. Sped up. It would be far more effective. It would make it flow better. It has no flow. It only has stopgaps. Talk talk talk, stop. Talk stop. Stop talk. Talk talk talk and stop. It has no meter it has no cadence it has no flow. It has no background music. It has no comedy value. It's boring. But informative. It puts you to sleep. While you are trying to fly. But it's informative. And I'm sure that was the intention. But it's also, grabbing and keeping your audience. And that's where you missed the boat. And you didn't make it to New York City. That's the capital of the world. It's not London anymore. Your bridge fell down. We used to sing about it.. We never saw it? We were shown pictures of a bridge. We don't know that was London Bridge? Even if the picture said so. How would we know? We didn't live there.. Have you seen the twin towers lately? I don't think so? Maybe in a picture? When they looked really fine standing there. But they are not there anymore. Now some other skinny building stands there. And it looks sorry. Not like it did before. Not as majestic as before. Neither did Pearl Harbor. Because there's still a sunken boat or two sitting there. I think it's the Arizona? It's not in Arizona anymore. And a bunch of others. Just lying there. I guess they removed the dead guys? I don't know? Maybe they didn't? That's called burial at sea. And I guess they leave them to be fish food? And they give back. Without filling them with poison chemicals. They are all natural. No artificial ingredients. Except lead and shrapnel.

They're not, like it. We are not going to like it. But it must be done. They give us no other choice.. They want everything to be there way exactly. They want to impose on all Americans. Because they have the better way to their Jesus and feel they must impose that upon everyone. Because Jesus told them to. Yeah no he did not. The little voice in their noggin did. They think is Jesus. But really is Satan. And they can't see it. They can't know it. They refused to accept it. They want to go down. It is their only way they know. And to try and take everybody down with them. Which is what those types do. They are beneath guttersnipe's. Their skulduggery is boundless. They get together like the criminals they are. It's all for them. They are the only Americans of value. And they should own it all. It's all for them. None for us. We don't count.
And they know what's going to happen to them. They know what they are doing wrong. But they continue to do it. They continue to push and push and push. Until one day. When the tides will turn. And we will make them eat Tide pods. Until they are foaming at the mouth. And can no longer be understood. Because there is nothing to understand from their hate toward Americans they don't like. There's only one thing to do with those types. Extinguishment. They must be put out. Into the cold. Ejected from the USA. Deported to their original country of origin. That's all they deserve. They are not Americans. Not even close. They are something else. And they are trying to take over our country for themselves.
This is most definitely a call to arms. This can no longer be allowed to transpire. No more American citizens need their rights removed. And those that have been removed need to be restored. This is Nazi fascist takeover nonsense. And this must be stopped. Before it's too late. And it will become too late. If we sit on our hands any longer. And allow this to continue. They're not going to like it. Neither will we. But they are forcing this upon us all. They do not want to allow Americans to live their own lives the way they see fit. And make their own personal healthcare decisions for themselves. And being accused of being murderers. By psycho Nazi fascists. I think this is a call to arms. They have declared war upon the American people. They've already removed the rights form, 1/2 the American citizens. And declassified them to 2nd class citizens. And they are called women. They hate women. Women are inferior. They have babies. Men don't have to be bothered with such stuff. They get to fight each other. Just like the animals they want to be. Just like we see in nature films. They want to be that. They want us all to be that. We are not that. We are human beings and they are not Americans. Let's be clear about this. They are enemies of the USA. They are enemies of the American People and Citizens. They want to take over. They already have. They think. We need to show them otherwise. This will not be tolerated. This is not American. They are not Americans. They are enemies of the USA. And they live here with us. Maybe for not much longer?
