THANK YOU! This worked great on a huge clog of lentils that got put down the garbage disposal and backed everything up on both sides. Filled disposal side with baking soda and then added a ton of vinegar and plunged it gently to work it into the clog while blocking the other side of the sink so it would go down and not just back and forth, worked great! Put about 5 gallons of hot water with dawn down it afterwards to make sure it didn't log jam farther down the pipes. Thanks again!
Perfect! That was good thinking! Thank you for sharing 💪💪💪

WINNER! Worked but had to go to the boiling water and a couple of plunges. $$$ saver for this retired lady.
Perfecto!!! Thank you for sharing your success! ❤️
It is generally not recommended to pour boiling water down a sink if you have PVC plumbing. PVC pipes can withstand temperatures up to 140°F (60°C), but water boils at a much higher temperature, 212°F (100°C). When boiling water is poured down the sink, it can cause the PVC pipes to soften and potentially warp or even burst. When pouring hot water, such as pasta water, into PVC drain and sewar pipes, fully turn on the cold faucet and pour the hot water slowly.
Wow. It worked. 1 box of baking
soda, 1 quart of vinegar and 2 pots of hot water about 15 min apart. Took about 40 minutes in total. Thanks a bunch!

Plunger worked on potato peels. Double sink , stopped up side was the sink. Disposal worked. So I closed off side with no water in sink (disposal side) and plunged the regular sink and it worked. Thank you so grateful. God bless you .

I skipped the baking soda step and just covered the left side while plunging the side with the disposal and that did the trick. Thanks for your video!

Worked for me today, it was plugged last night and was waiting for my husband again with a dirty kitchen and I thought maybe I can do something and looked up a video on CZcams, I looked at a different one but did not want to go buy a plunger right now (don’t want to use the toilets’) and since I dislike using chemicals anywhere in my house I used your technique which was the second video I saw. Works like a charm, thanks so much, may God bless you!!

Thank you for this. Had a nasty clog that was way past the pea trap and used this method. Took several times of the baking soda and water, combined with plunger and a lot of boiling water, but finally came loose. Appreciate the video!

@@CRACKERJACKSDIY, the thought of stopping crossed my mind a time or two, but in this economy, who can afford a plumber? Now, regular maintenance of the kitchen sink drain is implemented.

Perfect! Try your best to keep grease from going down your drain. I empty from pans into jars. When I worked at the fire department and we cook bacon the guys would dump it down the sink, I was beside myself!
It took me 5 rounds to cleared my sink. Thanks for your video. Subscribed.
glad you didn’t give up! 💪💪💪👏👏👏 Thanks for the sub!0
In case this helps anyone... When using the plunger, I weighed down the sink plug with a couple of rocks, so it would not pop up. (It looked like he used the plunger on the sink with the disposer and used the plug on the other sink.) I used a flat red rubber plunger and it kept slipping out of place. If you are buying one, there is a black one with a 'flap' on the end (folds out from inside the cup) that maybe works better.

I’ve got a real stinker of a plugged up drain. I’ve done the vinegar and baking soda. Added hot water. It just won’t break loose. The sinks are 1/2 full and I’m going to let them sit all night and see if the y drain by the morning. This is really starting to tick me off!
That’s a good plan if it doesn’t work, you have no choice, but to snake it unfortunately.
There's literally no purpose for a double sink other than aggravation.
Ha!!! I feel your pain but uou got this! 💪💪💪

@@CRACKERJACKSDIY I did subscribe! Question: I looked at cleaning vinegar in the hardware store and it was super pricey. Maybe cheaper at some place like Walmart. I have a gal jug of 5% acidity. Do you think that would work OK?
@SkatingErinsMom it should. Yes that’s what I used was the great value brand.
@@CRACKERJACKSDIY I got some at Walmart and used 1 cup baking soda and 2 cups cleaning vinegar. It worked as you described. A few bits of food waste floated up, but the sink was still not draining. Update to my initial reply: It was late, so I stopped for the evening and in the morning; the water was no longer standing in the sink. So, maybe the baking soda/vinegar water sitting overnight did something. The sink is no longer clogged. The dishwasher, which drains into the disposal, is full of sudsy water, maybe is the jet-dry? I flushed out the jet-dry by removing the cap and pouring in several cups of hot water and then ran the rinse/hold cycle. Repeat many times. But it still has sudsy water so I might take the disposal out and take it apart and see if it's somehow keeping the dishwasher from draining. Probably easier than pulling out the dishwasher. First, watch some youtubes about dishwashers...
It definitely work for me,thanks.

My dads 96, a clogged drain is tantamount to the attack on Peal Harbor. He was literally looking in the yellow pages for a plumber. I entered the scene, after laughing at the yellow pages and calming him down I, I CZcams’d you. I made him watch from the front room while I was in the kitchen. I go back to see if your vid calmed him down. He said he couldn’t hear it. The volume was all the way up. (You still with me bro?) I got my Beatz by Dr. Dre and made him watch your vid again. This time with premium audio. 2-minutes later, after your vid ended I put on some Glen Miller for pops. Now he’s in the front room making loud noises as he grooves.
I’m in the kitchen watching water go down the drain. And they all lived happily ever after.
The End
PS. I suffer from a rare disease called, Anti-Writer’s-Block.
I proceeded to unclog the kitchen sink as you instructed. I had to do it a couple times before the problem was solved.
The moral to this dilemma is: never call a plumber and pacify a 96-year-old
🤣🤣🤣 dude! That just made my day that was so hilarious! Thank you for that and thank you for sharing your success! Your pops sounds awesome! 💪💪💪

Good advice! Ive never had an issue but it makes sense if your pouring into an empty drain. It most likely cools off enough before hitting abs or pvc pipe since the standing water is a significantly lower temp. For the same reason is exactly why you don’t want to use draino
It works thank you
You’re welcome! Thanks for sharing your success! If you haven’t done, so, yet, please consider subscribing. I have a lot of good tips coming.

Your welcome! 💪💪💪
EXCELLENT
Thank you!
For me, I took the pipes apart under the sink and took out the pasta that the garbage disposal didn’t get.
Glad you figured it out. Two of the biggest culprits for these clogs are grease and pasta. Grease solidifies as soon as it hits cooler and cold pipes. Then other stuff gets stuck to that.
Pasta can expand when it absorbs water, potentially causing clogs in your pipes. It's better to dispose of pasta in the trash or compost it if possible.
I’m glad you figured it out though 👏👏👏💪💪💪
Drano crystal completely clogged our drainage! We had to remove the pipes to see what happened apparently crystals formed into rock like hard rock!! Now I'm back at vinegar and baking soda as usual. I'll never use drano ever again.. I always used vinegar and baking soda but wanted to try drano crystal 😢
Sorry, you had to learn the hard way. For me, it was using Draino and it didn’t work. That was a big mess when it came to snaking it out, that some nasty chemicals! Never again, if this doesn’t take care of it, definitely sneaking out and not playing around with those chemicals. I can only imagine the damage they do to abs drains
@@CRACKERJACKSDIY I saw the hard rock damage inside the pipes with my eyes! I wonder my how much damage they cause where we can't see. I'll never use it again. I wish I asked my husband to use the snake we had. Baking soda and vinegar is slowly draining the standing water. Hopefully it will get rid of the nasty drano build up 😢
No chemicals! Yay!
Sort of… no harmful chemicals. These two can each other out on the pH scale essentially
This worked: a BIGGER PLUNGER!
Perfect!!!
Double sink but the 2 sides aren’t connected with a pipe. They act almost independently, if that makes sense. Garbage disposal side connected to dishwasher. Not sure what I have to do. Any suggestions?
Don’t do it on the garbage disposal. You can plug the garbage disposal side while you plunge the other side. It is weird that they are not connected. But if it is backing up through the garbage disposal side, I would think you’re gonna have to snake it.
Please keep me posted
Thank you
Your very welcome
You are awesome
Thanks for playing! Glad it worked out 💪💪💪

Could distilled white vinegar be used as an alternative?
I’m not positive so I looked it up and this is the answer I found…Since both types of vinegar contain acetic acid, they will both react with baking soda in a similar manner, producing a fizzing effect due to the release of carbon dioxide gas. The intensity of the reaction may vary slightly depending on the exact concentration of acetic acid in the vinegar, but the overall reaction will be the same.
@@CRACKERJACKSDIYThank you!
Can you use apple cider vinegar with baking soda instead of the vinegar that you used? Thank you
Actually, another person on here tried that, and it was not effective. Anyway, I think regular vinegar is much more effective. But if you want, just go right to the third step and try plunging first. Just make sure you see a lot one side to create the suction. If that doesn’t work, try vinegar and if that doesn’t work, you need to snake the drain.
@@CRACKERJACKSDIY Thank you.
@11losangeles you’re welcome good luck!
hello sir I’m my kitchen sink I think some food wen inside the sink so the water is not drain what should I do
