Idea: 5K subscriber survival special. You could open a server, or just a normal world, set to friends and a few subscribers could join and play!
Edit: Oh yeah happy new year aswell, thats a thing i guess!
That's a fun idea. Not sure if we can pull it off at this moment. Happy new year to you too.
@@PandemicPlayground Would be fun
It's a shame you moved. The Pertam valleys are full of ore, and the flat dunes have little but rock. So, expect to drive back into the valley again!
Oh crap 😥
Ice is under the DARK green patches of grass, so where you settled is not near an ice patch. but good luck I look foward to watching
Thanks for the tip. Hopefully, I'll find some ice at some point. It's not very necessary at the moment, so it can wait.
And in the Oasisses
There is also ice under dark grey patches.
you may want to use a base mounted drill rig, with Armageddon running you are going to want to be under ground fast. You can use a hinge set at 30-45 degrees with a few nested pistons to get 40 or 50 meters down, you can then dig out rooms as needed. I placed a few gat towers around the base with a set of wind turbines on the sides for power. Doesn't stop 'em and you will have to replace them every so often. With the new hinges your tunnels can even be square . I would pack up and see if I could find a cliff face to dig into to make it a bit easier as the cliff will protect you a bit from one side. I have found that with Armageddon running wheeled buggies around your base are next to useless. There are going to be a LOT of holes around your base. I would recommend getting off world as soon as you can as with a lot of gats you can weather the rocks fairly well but without a jetpack space would be bad. If you go with a surface base you are going to want some kind of shield over your base to take the hits as you WILL get hit a LOT.
Since you have meteors on it's a good idea to meka an underground base and keep as little infrastructure out of the voxel
I would suggest using a tiny battery connected to your base as a way to mitigate power spikes when you are starting and only have a single wind turbine. Once you have enough materials it can be replaced with a normal large battery.
Good suggestion 😃
@@PandemicPlayground Thank you hope it helps
At some point when you built your tent you disconnected the two walls splitting it in actually TWO grids...
Then when you connected them back up, there is a really high chance that the grids remained separate and are just touching.
This also explains why your refinery didn't have power.
I may be wrong but you should check that asap to not have headaches later on.
Hmm. Possible, I'll check on it.
@@PandemicPlayground I checked in game now and it seems I'm wrong, they do connect back up if they were embedded in a voxel. Honestly didn't expect that
@@tudorversoiu8138 It was lacking power. I got it working again.
I like the settings you chose and I'm interesting in following this (I can't play SE myself, I don't have the means) as most Let's Play they up the personal inventory and use jetpacks everywhere which skips a whole section of the progression of the game: small utility vehicles. Also, the game has built in progression and so, to me, the Progression system is redundant and strange (it's pretty hard to go from the starting Survival kit to the top tier Refinery, for example, so using the intermediary production blocks makes sense) so yay for you.
I've also wanted to see someone do survival without lots of flying vehicles, Splitsie sort of did with their LP, so perhaps playing like a space dwarf with rovers and digging networks of tunnels between valleys could work for you?
And how do you plan getting off world?
Haven't decided on that yet, but maybe slingshot my way out? lol
you can disable metors in world settings and put on jetpack
Yes but he did it this way intentionally.
nice color choice; i love green !
a mining rover seems to be a good idea, but i am very interested in the overcraft you mention
Mining rover would be better than me running back and forth and drilling for sure lol. I'll attempt a hovercraft soon.
I subbed ! thanks for making this a series, any mods or vanilla?
Thanks. It's pretty much vanilla. Only mod that is on right now is easy inventory, because I'm so use to having it. In the future, likely going to use more mods and scripts.
Reminds me of Tatooine
Hey, i recently found your channel. Im currently sick, so your survival series is exactly what i need. Thank you. I wish you all the best.
Hope you feel better soon
You will need defenses ASAP if you wanna play on armaggedon with the base outside in the open.
It is better to build underground on Partam, you don't have to build entire base airtight or with armor blocks, you can use unfinished pretty much everything or just baredevices :D because you have plenty O2 in the Atmo and when you are deep in you're protected against the cold as well :D , also, if you build enough room under you can also put the wind turbine in the cave, it works fine :D
Can't wait to see next episode :D
Also, did you consider to release longer videos for example 40-50 mins, 60 top?
Thanks for suggestions. In terms of video length, I was thinking of making longer vids, but it will be based on what I have planned for the video.
@@PandemicPlayground Those will be also nice to watch, it's almost like a summary videos if I understand correctly
There is ice just about everywhere just not very much, easily enough for one player to refuel their jetpack but not much for ships especially large ships.
Well i might make 2 wind turbine and 10 blocks high. It gives out 400kwh per turbine and also refinery eat a lot of power.
Yeah, I need to elevate it a lot more. Hard to do when you keep lacking resources. Should be done by next episode.
@@PandemicPlayground yea i rush the driller first asap once i get my cargo up connect some conveyor, and piston and start drilling.
The tent is going to have 14 underground floors and each one will lead to the destruction of random enemy base or weapons testing?
Definitely did cross my mind to do something like that.
@@PandemicPlayground a large grid drill array and a refinery could help you build the tent as you dig the first basement
You know what I’m going to follow the series and sub
why is everyone making a starter base with steel block? interial wall's are much cheaper on the iron.
anyone love the video.
I actually did think about doing that, but quickly forgot and and ended up going back to old habits.
Oh I did it at the back👏
Dude, this is gonna be HARD.
Indeed. In the survival server im in, some people started on pertam, and after a week everyone just restarted somewhere else
Edit: And this is with mods that speed up the start A LOT. Also has easy building things like nanites. so yeahh
In my experience it's not that hard unless a storm comes around
@@Noahs80series I got wacked in the head with a lightning stike as my starting pod landed for my first spawn. it was kind of funny, like 2020 in 1 glorious gaming instant
Rofl. I haven't experienced that yet, but there are many times when my landing gears don't lock when landing in the respawn pod, and I usually roll down a mountain.
@@PandemicPlayground It WILL strike you more than once, and its not random. It was made to strike engineer directly even in SAFE setting. Dig a hole far from important stuff/building and stay until the storm is gone. Even in the hole, it will still try to strike you.
Good Start but I think I would have Started building my Base in a Cave off like that Mountain I saw close to the flat area you started in, Asteroids can take out light Blocks pretty easy. 2nd If Im going to do a tent I would put it over my only Respawn till I had another. (in the cave)
Happy New Year
Since I have only played this game a little bit I like seeing the startup problems.
Any details you chose to share can help inspire a new player of an old game.
Good luck on that Armageddon mode.
Hope you're not struck by the meteors before you've built an underground vault.
Happy new year! I'm likely going to stay above ground. Will need turrets asap 😥
Those white patches are ores
Ice is more dark grey
I am weird and want to see all the mining and stuff! ^^
Just started a heavily modded game myself not really played much on pc no1 to play alongside but thought I'd give it ago I own a nitrado server for xbox but it's way to limited don't like only getting 3 planets per system
i cant play a game od se with realtic sound there is no sound in space.
plz me Easy Inventory its work out Text HUD API?
i needs it
its not working
My personal opinion, its not true survival if progression is off. Again my personal opinion.
Yeah, I get it. I've started with progression a few times and enjoyed it, but I felt that it wasn't necessary this time around.
