Thank you Dr. Cliff for all of your informative videos. I now understand why I’ve had such poor results from my professional hearing aids and years of frustration. My audiologist has never tested my hearing with the aids she programmed against my unaided profile. And I have recently concluded that taking a lip reading course would be helpful. I have a flat, mild loss with 100% processing in one ear and 80% in the other. More professionalism is needed in your industry and you are surely spurring it on. At least I now know what to ask for and insist on. Many thanks.

I'm near my one year anniversary for use of Widex hearing aids. Your videos have been extremely helpful and informative as it was an overwhelming experience to make the decision to get hearing aids and then to choose an appropriate one. During the fitting and prescription my audiologist did the real ear measurement that I learned to ask about from your videos. Now that I'm one year in, how often should real ear measurement be done or is it not necessary if the hearing aids are meeting expectations? I did have them serviced this week as the wire from device to the receiver was frayed and not working properly.

Terrific video, very timely… thanks! I’ve been wearing hearing aids for 31 yrs. I have moderate to severe hearing loss, and through your network of best practice providers I found a nearby audiologist who has been very patient with me as I’ve tried out 5(!) pairs until we settled on the Audéo Life Lumity… your reviews were especially helpful. I also bought the Roger On.
I recently attended a gathering of about 30 people in a fairly small, confined room in a restaurant. Roger was very helpful, but I still needed to ask people at my table to repeat themselves.
Your show brought up several questions…
    1) will Roger On still work if I mute my aids? That would be great to eliminate most of the background noise!
    2) Is Roger On actually programmable by my audiologist? That also would be helpful in toning down background noise.
Many thanks for all that you do to promote better hearing!

Hello doctor and all. When I first got made for iphone hearing aids, the bluetooth streaming and phone calls were and still are a gamechanger, and they definitely improve speech clarity. I am wondering is there a way to get rid of the latency when using the live listen feature. That's one of the reasons why I can't wait for LE audio. To be able to use direct audio input would be something to really look forward. 😂

    Hi Dr
I agree with the last comment if you left some space between the sentence will be able to grasp what you’re saying it might add a minute or 2 to the video but well worth it. Thank you

Do the P90’s have the same software as the Lumity’s? Due to the nature of my job I use my hearing aids 12 to 15 hrs a day so I opted for The P90’s with replaceable batteries so when the batteries die I can pop in a fresh set and don’t have to wait for them to recharge

I brought my phonak audeo Paradise P70 RT back in Oct 2021.
I have been having battery issues every since
The battery will only charge to 99%
Within 1 hour with no bluetooth turned on the hearing aid the battery will be at 69%.
My audiologist sent my hearing aid to phonak for repairs 2 times since June 2022.
With every repair I never seen any improvements
According to phonak their rechargeable hearing aids should last for 6 years.
It's crazy how my hearing aid is 1 year and 2 months old already and already have had 2 battery replacements.
Is this a issue world wide?
Someone on reddit told me that phonak provided a statement saying that phonak is aware of their rechargeable is failing to early but they haven't said how they would fix this.
However I never seen the statement myself so I have no clue if phonak Is aware
Do you have any idea what I should do to fix this issue?

hello, can you do an android (or ios) app review. eg Google sound amplifier. If you connect your phone via Bluetooth, its function is similar to a Roger (with less performance, obviously) Regards!

My Veterans Administration (They used Real Ear Testing) issued Phonak Paradise hearing aids work pretty well and certainly better than their predecessors. I have noticed, if I place the tip of my finger lightly in my ear, the volume increases. Why? My friends who also wear hearing aids observe the same effect.

Because you are holding the ear piece farther into your ear getting the speaker closer to your eardrum, and/or this is trapping more of the sound in the ear rather than letting it leak out so it seems louder. I'm an audiologist

Can I obtain reasonable accuracy anyway with programming my prescription?

I have only one hearing aid (Widex), because the hearing in my other ear is fine. However, the phone calls or streaming from my phone is distorted and hard to understand. Consequently, I adjust phone calls to “phone” or “speaker” and I use air pods to listen to podcasts. Is the terrible sound because I have only one hearing aid? Or is there another reason?

How about ai voice isolation, no yidda yaddi yadda with bluetouch connections,no external microphone,no accoostic scanning, just tell that freaking damn connected app (if optional) to voice isolate you wanna hear sothat all unwanted background noise will be ai filtered away.
And something for the future might be this,
For instance their is crosstalk but you only wanna hear person A, then just tell that app to filter out all other voices and only let voice from person A get trough, for person B just tell the app to only wanna hear person B and boom you are good to go and so on,
Sure it will require the user to make different profiles from each person and let the app learn all those voices from each person beforehand, but i can imagine how handy that will be.

I hear you G & J. I live in Canada and am on disability, so my audiologist gets paid less for treating me. No REM and will not address the fact I hear a harmonic distortion with bass tones. I feel as though they don’t care and am being forced to pay out of my own pocket to see another audiologist to try and correct the issue. Most days I just want to put my hearing aids on a shelf and not wear them.

@@robertwingham This disability is no joke. I have been on it for 6 months, and the service that I received hasn’t been that good. Everybody wants the money, and provide not the greatest of customer service or support. When I speak up and ask questions they can’t handle it. It’s something getting old and being mistreated. What is America turning into against Senior Citizens?

You can slow the rate of speech, by going into settings, on CZcams...there is a way to slow the rate by clicking on the rate that you want (i.e., 0.5, or 1.0)...it's really easy...if you can't follow my direction, find a CZcams about this very subject and follow those directions.....this is very very helpful for people who speak too fast, on their CZcams videos...Good luck

Hi, Thanks for these valuable informations...
    But....
Reducing the speed of speaking and pronounciation of words properly will go a long way.... If a person is talking way too fast, for whatever reason, this only create more confusions...
Hope all speakers will take this into consideration..... 😄😄
