Disagree with this video. The reason some people say scars are "hot" on guys is because the guy presented is usually very attractive to begin with. It's not as much of a hit to his attractiveness. It's also clearly the degree of scaring because it's usually the tiniest scar that's acceptable. Also some scars are always deemed unacceptable, like acne scars which unfairly paints the person as unhygienic.

Masculinity/dominance is the #1 trait women look for in men according to data by Ogi Ogas but, even his research admits that first a man has to meet a woman's looks standards before she starts assessing his other qualities.
In other words, women only find scars on man sexy if he is a man she would already be naturally attracted to. If a woman thinks a man is unattractive, him gaining a scar would not magically make him more attractive in her eyes.

the way I look at men’s facial scars is the same way I look at men’s hands (ik kinda weird lol) your hands (or the look/condition of them) reflect your day to day life/lifestyle, so when I see a man with strong, rough, and defined hands it’s a reflection of his masculinity, which is what I’m attracted to. Same for facial scars! Facial scars shows resilience, and strength which is deemed more masculine, therefore making me find them attractive.

i disagree, as a woman I don't think it makes a man more attractive, it just doesn't distract from an already attractive mans attractiveness in the way it does on a woman, as long a as ur taller have a strong face and a lean body ur pretty much attractive as a male, for females beauty is a lot more complicated and subjective. Scaring is like rough skin or wrinkles, its not that blemishes and wrinkles make a man more attractive its just that men can get away with more and can play it of as character where as if a woman who has wrinkles or blemishes would be automatically considered unattractive...maybe there is a biological aspect to it. Where as a man can still reproduce later in life so age and roughness does not take away from his attractiveness. Women have to reproduce younger and have a limited time frame to do so therefor youthful fresh skin is more of an attractive trait signifying fertility. also in the nature generally speaking females mate with strong men that compete and fight each other providing the strongest and best genes for offspring. but when a female has a lot of "character or battle wounds" looking "like she's been through a lot" may not be the best option for caring and raising young there for making her less attractive.

Also take note that this only applies to white men, where a scarred face on a black or Latin man of color might be more of a negative then a positive in the way we already perceive certain populations as a society. Scars on a white man might not make him less attractive even give him some "Edge", but on a black man scarring could cause isolation and rejection not only from woman but from the greater society.

I am self conscious so I always point them out and people have said “where?” Or “what?” Like they are so confused why I’d say I have bad skin. To me it’s all that anyone can see, but I know a guy who has like severe major acne scars and in my head mine are worse then his ! I think we’re all our own harshest critic. I will look at myself in the mirror and only focus on my features like eyes lips nose etc and not the scars and I think that perhaps that is the image people see when they see me. AMEN!! I could not imagine a shittier, more unflattering kind of scars. Esp. if it's widespread in the face.

Suffered a mild car accident back in 2015
Did got something nasty road rash on one side of my face
But it did heal so perfectly that I actually forget whish side was it
Up until I tried to grow my beard, and no matter what my left side was completely shaggy
I have no visible marks expect from that

I've had a scar down my forehead since I was a child (not sure how I got it). It's not super noticeable, but some people have asked me about it over the years. I'll take this as a win!

My scars fucked me soo damn hard. When i was 3 i got injury slightly above my right eyebrow, had to stitch it and when i was 6 i also got hardly wounded on the edge of right eyelid. Now my eyebrows and eyelids are completely different. My face looks really fucking ugly from the front (one of the most asymmetrical faces i saw). Even my frieds avoid doing pics with me. But my side profiles are so good that few people i have seen for the first time started conversation by saying that i should be a model. Just to desperately change the topic after i turn my face in their direction

I have been listening to your podcasts on Spotify (the serie about dating) and you mention that physical attractiveness is the main factor at play when trying to attract a partner. I wondered if age could decrease physical attractiveness. Same face, same body, do perceptions change if the person is 25 vs 35 (I think this is more important in the case of women) ? Can age decrease your attractiveness independently of your looks? I was thinking that most dating apps ask you to display your age and they also allow you to filter by age which means that age comes first when choosing a partner.
Could you please make a podcast about this?
Oh and could you also make a video on how to increase neotony features and look younger? (I can't do anything about my age but I'd like to not look older lol)

I think that it's very true that the placement and shapre of the scar is important - in a way, like makeup, it can enhance the attractiveness of an exisiting attractive feature, by drawing attention to it - that way a scar on your cheekbone line is attractive, a scar in the area of the eyes is attractive (brow, bottom of eye, etc) and a scar on the lip

I think making an affirmative claim on that is misguided - if it were so true, would Maori women (of a culture that was isolated up until 300 years ago) not also be considered unattractive by their men? Face tattooing and scarring has been a tradition amongst the Maori people for centuries (see; Nanaia Mahuta), and following the previous line of thought, given their societies similarities to a hunter-gatherer format, would they not now be considered unattractive?
