- Now it's time to install the transmission back into the tractor and get everything put back together. Once we get everything back together and the hydraulic oil filled up, we will perform the hydro flush procedure and replace the RU & CU control valves. Then we will get the oil hot and do a full IVT calibration. And after all that work has been accomplished, we will finally get to take our maiden voyage. It runs like a dream! Thank you for watching this series!

Another great episode Zeth and have to say that the whole series on the JD 8370R IVT has been nothing but outstanding. Having been off the tools now for decades, I am just amazed at these transmissions and whats involved. Thanks from Aberdeenshire Scotland.
Great video. No one ever realizes the amount of work it takes to do a job like this , and do it the right way.
Another great job Zeth/Josh. A very good teacher and very good student. I am sure Sloan Implement has a lot of great techs and Zeth is at the top. They wouldn't let you CZcams things if they weren't confident that you would present yourself and them in a favorable manner. Thanks
Gees fellows, Slone needs an overhead crane in the shop. Even if it was all manual, life would go so much smoother. (and safer for men & equipment).
Thank you Zeth and Josh ... That's an amazing amount of wrenching. I have been taught that complexity is not our friend. To keep these machines running it takes a whole lot of very qualified individuals like yourselves. I'm looking forward to the next assignment you two tackle together. Respectfully, Utah Mike. 🤩👍
Mission accomplished. WOW ! You can keep that green iron moving, one job at a time. 😊
That's the plan!
Great video. That is a massive amount of labor for a 2 dollar oring and to discover metal that was within wear limits.
The whole mission was to replace the hydro inn the first place
No leaks and works like a Swiss watch - can't ask for more!
It doesn't run like a dream...it runs like a Deere!! Great video Zeth!
You got that right!
Great channel with great content. I used to work as a HGV mechanic for years, but gave up the tools a good while ago. Heavy modern commercials are already complex, agriculture vehicles are on a different level. I really enjoy watching without getting my hands dirty on the back breaking work! Keep going, I wait already for the next one.
Good morning 🙏 🌄 my friend
👋
Mission accomplished indeed!!
Man there is so much green iron in that yard, I love the combines with the wide tyres on.
Always great content. Always fun and educational. A true master technician and it won’t be long until Josh is a master tech working with you.
Well zeth and Josh it looks like it went back together better than not came apart ..You two did a great job ..
Starts and runs great 👍👍👍👍👍
I the prep and attention to detail made the difference
I like Zeths knowledge and demeanor. I’ve seen so much of arrogance from so many techs that makes one want to never do business with certain dealerships.
brilliant ,got all the right kit for the job on hand ,and of course a bit of knowledge as well !!!!! welll done ZK always magic watching the videos ,regards form essex UK
Got it love John Deere tractor I do I drive one every day love watching you CZcams god bless on
Great video thanks for sharing have a great Labor Day weekend
Awesome video, really enjoyed it!!
I like Zeths knowledge and demeanor. I’ve seen so much of arrogance from so many techs from Barcelone Spain
Great series! A couple things I found helpful… threading a m20 bolt in the housing to use as a leverage point to instal the synchro, I would also recommend doing the bearing retainer update while in there for the planetary ring gear, comealongs are a extremely helpful too when pushing these back together, and for the MFWD gear when aligning the front structure to the IVT it’s helpful to remove the sensor on the right side and use a screwdriver to turn the gear under the engine side. Great job Seth! Really enjoy your videos!
Another great vid! Awesome job, keep the deere's running!
A big job that you guys made look easy. I guess if you have the knowledge, tools and parts, the training does its job. Not sure what I think of IVT's and that hydro setup. Liked the flush procedure. Good video, well done and thank you.
I'm just like you, a Johndere tractor mechanic, I adore Johndere
Nice job. Amazing how much oil that hydraulic system holds. Great how they allow you to teach the new guys and pass on your knowledge to them. The technology in this new stuff is amazing.
Great video. Thanks guys
Thanks for watching!
Outstanding Job!
Great videos Zeth! Would be great if you could explain how a IVT transmission works and the drive flow from input to output
Great content thanks a lot! I really enjoy the videos where you work on tractors specially on the power train!
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Wow. Lots to put back together piece by piece.
I do not think a lot of people know just how much comes off and goes back on in a job like this. Big job getting it all back together again.
Nice work Josh and ZK. ZK you are an excellent teacher and Josh did great at learning this particular repair job. Good teamwork gentlemen.
My compliments to both of you.
Nice work.
Appreciate you showing us more on completing this transmission repair job.
Learned a lot watching all four parts. Thanks for everything.
Take care. Watch the heat.
Thanks.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
Ihr seit wunderbare Landmaschinenmechaniker 👏🇨🇭😇
Great vidéo 🇨🇵
Fantastic. Thanks
Thanks for taking it to the test drive. This project looks like one of your biggest jobs. Happy subscriber 😊!
Good series Zech. I really enjoyed that
Yall make this look easy. Good job as always on the videos
A truly awesome machine.
I have never tackled an ivt transmission before this looks fun.thnks for the video
It's awesome to finish the job and then the deere on a parade lap.
Excellent job men 👍
Excellent work thank you guys really enjoyed this little series.
Glad you enjoyed it
Don't know if I should feel bad about it, but I kinda hope for green equip to breakdown just to see him repair it! Congrats for your videos!
Great job 😀👍
Great job, guys. Is that one of those jobs that is fun the first time, interesting the 2nd, and just get it done the 3rd?
You need a set of Truck Scales. Then you'll Know we're to not get your toes under. and check your truck loading, too. And Cat Scales charge by the weight ticket.~ $20 roughly guessing Each. Also avoid Shock Overload tickets.
Your one heck of a good mechanic very knowledgeable id be nervous wreck we would major one or two tractors every winter on our farm in michigan cold very little heat the first time we would go to the field i would worry my self half sick always seem to run ok but back in the 60 70s there were so much more similar,,, well done guys
Nice Vid!
Do you wonder if JD equipment is over engineered so the owner can not repair it?
Yeah...I'm sure it's a conspiracy just like everything else that makes paranoid people suspicious...
More likely over engineered because people want more power, more speed, more efficiency, more comfort. You never hear people complaining that there is too much of any of these.
The JD engineer’s definitely don’t have the tech in mind. Was a Newholland mechanic for years now independent. Now work on all brands. I’d sooner work on Case or Newholland. If you split a NH all the connections are all together in one place
One hell of a good job!!!! Enjoyed it!! What’s a ballpark price on that sort of job?
Zeth,I think l still like clutching in a 4020,slot simpler
Zeth/Josh I'm so missing you guys when is the next video out? luv ya guys Julian U.K
I zoomed in on those connection points right where it meets the boom and I’m thinking no
Job well done me.
You need an air conditioned work space. I couldn't work in thst heat and humidity.
The story i heard from around 10 years ago was where a similar repair was botched. So the mechanics where the best they could get (1 from local dealer and 1 from JD import company), only both had never taken apart such a IVT. To plug the oil lines they used cloth. My brother was a tractor mechanic for some years, and told me paper should have been used. Any way they forgot the cloth, or a piece of cloth was left behind and wrecked the IVT. There was a whole fight who should pay for the damages. The custom harvester company the 8 series tractor belonged to was pissed because of the delay and because they could only provide a 7000 series loaner, that proved to be too light and where the hitch broke off. Happened in The Netherlands.
It's so wild that you guys don't have service trucks with cranes.
Bonjour, superbe travail,très impressionnant bravo à vous 👍👌👏
Warum sind bei euch so viele Traktoren, Mähdrescher mit Zwillingsbereifung ausgerüstet? Das findet man in Europa sehr selten🇨🇭😇
Compaction, spreads out the weight of the machines.
AC refrigerant dryer changed yet? Then vacuum and recharge. 8:55
You used short slide hammer to get the front main seal out where do I order one of them from? I enjoy watching you videos. We have 9 8rs we're getting ready replace the front dampness. There 5 of them that have over six thousand hours on them.
I'm not sure where it came from.
see you have the new high torque Milwaukee, what are your thoughts on it?
Awesome job, what does IVT stand for ?
Infinitely variable transmission
Your video is very helpful and will help me to do this job, but my customer would like an estimate. Can you tell me how many hours it took to do this complete job. Again, thank you very much
It takes about 40-50 hrs.
Класс
I'll take 100F and 10% humidity over 70F and 70% humidity any day of the week.
In Illinois, corn and beans pay for these tractors and as the old saying goes "miserable weather for humans grows great corn".
@@halwilliams1682 not just Illinois and Missouri! Iowa .
Pretty miserable this summer Missouri Illinois Iowa tri-state area also lack of rain really hurt us.
How many hours did that take from start to finish?
I know it is out of countest ,but I got old john deere 7600 from my friend for low price, do you have any advice for me ,is it wort having or best to sell it?
So how many days did it take to do this job
Runs like a dream? Whoops. Someone goofed; it's supposed to run like a Deere... ;-)
How's the weather up in lllinois
It's cooled off a little bit
You guys don’t have a/c in your shop?
Xe ngon rượu ngon Việt Nam đây mấy ông già 🇻🇳😃❤
Why not let josh drive?
The question I got for you is what sick individuals sync up all of this complex shit in these tractors with all the sensors in bleeding this unhooking this up is it just an Evalution thing or is this like we reinvented the wheel with this type of transmission?
It weighs as much as a 1966 Cadillac.
Quarts? is this 21st centuary ?
Why did John Deere ever build that ivt transmission when they had the perfect power shift transmission you can buy them for a dime a dozen up here because nobody wants them
