  • Now it's time to install the transmission back into the tractor and get everything put back together. Once we get everything back together and the hydraulic oil filled up, we will perform the hydro flush procedure and replace the RU & CU control valves. Then we will get the oil hot and do a full IVT calibration. And after all that work has been accomplished, we will finally get to take our maiden voyage. It runs like a dream! Thank you for watching this series!

Another great episode Zeth and have to say that the whole series on the JD 8370R IVT has been nothing but outstanding. Having been off the tools now for decades, I am just amazed at these transmissions and whats involved. Thanks from Aberdeenshire Scotland.

Another great job Zeth/Josh. A very good teacher and very good student. I am sure Sloan Implement has a lot of great techs and Zeth is at the top. They wouldn't let you CZcams things if they weren't confident that you would present yourself and them in a favorable manner. Thanks

Gees fellows, Slone needs an overhead crane in the shop. Even if it was all manual, life would go so much smoother. (and safer for men & equipment).

Thank you Zeth and Josh ... That's an amazing amount of wrenching. I have been taught that complexity is not our friend. To keep these machines running it takes a whole lot of very qualified individuals like yourselves. I'm looking forward to the next assignment you two tackle together. Respectfully, Utah Mike. 🤩👍

Great channel with great content. I used to work as a HGV mechanic for years, but gave up the tools a good while ago. Heavy modern commercials are already complex, agriculture vehicles are on a different level. I really enjoy watching without getting my hands dirty on the back breaking work! Keep going, I wait already for the next one.

Great series! A couple things I found helpful… threading a m20 bolt in the housing to use as a leverage point to instal the synchro, I would also recommend doing the bearing retainer update while in there for the planetary ring gear, comealongs are a extremely helpful too when pushing these back together, and for the MFWD gear when aligning the front structure to the IVT it’s helpful to remove the sensor on the right side and use a screwdriver to turn the gear under the engine side. Great job Seth! Really enjoy your videos!

More likely over engineered because people want more power, more speed, more efficiency, more comfort. You never hear people complaining that there is too much of any of these.

The story i heard from around 10 years ago was where a similar repair was botched. So the mechanics where the best they could get (1 from local dealer and 1 from JD import company), only both had never taken apart such a IVT. To plug the oil lines they used cloth. My brother was a tractor mechanic for some years, and told me paper should have been used. Any way they forgot the cloth, or a piece of cloth was left behind and wrecked the IVT. There was a whole fight who should pay for the damages. The custom harvester company the 8 series tractor belonged to was pissed because of the delay and because they could only provide a 7000 series loaner, that proved to be too light and where the hitch broke off. Happened in The Netherlands.
