  • Light and strong. 54 lbs so easy to install. I will never go back to a traditional 5th wheel hitch.

    Thanks for this video. I'm about to purchase this hitch and your info helped me a lot.

  • @vicdeldiyprojectsandadvent6123

    James, I have the same hitch and love it as well! Easy to connect and disconnect by myself, and easy to remove as you stated. Nice job on the video.

      Short bed or long bed? I’m thinking of purchasing it for my short bed. Thanks

    I have a 2400, used it in three different trucks. Love it, light fewer moving parts and strong used to tow my 34' Montana.

    I would think so. I would call pullrite to make sure. They are very helpful. This unit height is adjustable too.

    The gooseneck does not transfer any extra weight to the payload at all. What it does do that might void the warranty and that is it applies a lot of stress to the front of the RV.

    so, with the kingpin ball conversion, is there a way to lock to prevent theft like you could with a standard kingpin.

    I went with the 2400 series on my new Ram dually because the unit takes up less room than the Anderson.

    The rails the hitch is set on needs the 90 degree angle on the outside. The 45 degree needs to be on the inside so the angled supports do not rub on the 90 degree. I can see in the video where the hitch has rubbed of the paint on the 90 degree and eaten into the metal. Same thing happened to my hitch and it makes a lot of noise.

      Pullrite recommends this setup. Been working great now for 3 years.

    Great video thanks for the information, I only have one question, what size ball you use for the BW hitch?

    • @jameswalsh2714
      @jameswalsh2714  Před 3 lety +1

      Not sure the size. I will check. It is the standard gooseneck ball.

    Great video. I’m considering this very hitch. Is your truck a 6.5’ bed? If so, how do find the clearance to your cab when backing up? Any potential issues with hitting the cab? Love to hear your thoughts.

    So now that you have had it for a year or so what is your opinion? I just got mine in the mail yesterday. I will tow with it for the first time at the end of September.

    Towards the end of the video where you show the ball adapter connection to the pin box, it looks like the pin box sits lower than the top of the bed. Do you have any issues with the pin box striking the inside of the bed on tight turns?

      @jameswalsh2714  Před 3 lety +1

      Sorry I did not see this. No, no issues with that.

    Could this work with a ram 2500 with Rambox's?

    I'm looking at this hitch do you have a short bed? I notice into your video that you have the bed saver rails turn backward but good video.

  • @thomashollingsworth6235

    Do you get any bouncing in the truck with that hitch?

    • @jameswalsh2714
      @jameswalsh2714  Před 11 měsíci

      No I did not experience any bounce. It followed the road better. I sold my truck and trailer this year.

    You could have also said that the Anderson hitch is also available in metal as well!!

      All of the Anderson Ultimate hitches that connect to the ball are made out of aluminum. They don’t make a steel version that connects to the ball.

    If you wanted to use safety chains, can you access the spring loaded safety chain loops on the BMW hitch?
