As an older person who loves you both and enjoys your vlogs and podcasts....every generation has slang that we used when we were young...but it changes with age...❤ we asked 4 20 yr olds some slang from the 50s 60s and 70s...it was hilarious 😂😂😂

But I’m with you, Alia! I typically start off saying these slang terms ironically but then I can’t stop and say it all the time 😅😅
I am 50 years old and I use some of these words. I think we are influence on what we watch and listen to and also I’m a New Yorker so some of these words you hear more than others. Only use slaying with failure and friends not at work.😂

I don’t think tying slang to maturity level is correct because maturity is much more deep than the words you use. I think it’s just a personal preference lol I think the older generation just love to hate on what the new generation do.
I have ADHD and I do a lot of mirroring when it comes to accents. When I'm in Spain speaking Spanish, I pick up intonation very quickly. When I go back to Mexico, my intonation becomes very Mexican. It's a feature of being neurodivergent LOL!
I think a good synonym for "vibe" would just be "atmosphere" or as Yoni already said "ambience"😂😂
It's funny bc in spanish we use very similar slang words and we also use "literally" in that exact same context. Globalization at its best

I think it needs to be said that a lot of these words come from black culture in which gen z always takes from to sound cool. I don't think these words are cringe, it's certain ppl who say it that makes it cringe.
