Swan rescued after HORRIFIC bite injury

  • Swan rescues have become a rather common call for us recently and, sadly, this poor swan was one of the most horrific cases we've seen for a while...
We were called to a local park after multiple reports of a swan with bite wounds to the neck. Whilst Simon and Lawrie were soon on scene, safely catching the poor bird would prove a little difficult.

A swan landed in the housing estate where i live at dusk..... the police and RSPB and RSPCA did nothing for the poor thing, he was very young probably just got chased off by mum and dad.....thanks to watching you guys i was able to approach him and pick him up, i popped a towel around him to stop him flapping in the car and drove him to the local reservoir...he was a good as gold and gave a little tail wiggle as he swam off.... i know exactly why you do what you do, the feeling i had after helping him was incredible.... you are an inspiration and a teacher 💕😊

It makes me really angry why dog owners can't use the amazing invention called the dog lead!!! No matter how well trained a dog is when the instinct kicks in it will attack a prey species but if its on a lead it can't get at things the same but off course dog owners are lazy & if the dog is on a lead you have to walk it further then if its off a lead running around.

Part of training is trusting them at some point, and expecting them to fail. Even the best trained dogs will have moments of forgetfulness. I also not saying this as an excuse, but to explain that it's the same mentality as riding a mororcycle: it's not if you get in a wreck it's when you get in a wreck.

I couldn't believe when I found out how much the government protects violent dog owners. If you set your dog on someone else's dog or livestock deliberately you only get a £2000 fine for it. I've been attacked several times and the gov does nothing so I just dont go to parks or beaches anymore and stick to roads. 50% of children get attacked by a dog at some point. 5m attacks per year in the USA. And yet it's not a big issue for politicians.

There’s a public pond by my house that geese love to swim in.(sadly no swans) It always makes me upset when I see people walking their dogs without a leash. The dogs try to chase the geese and it scares them. Luckily, I haven’t seen a dog get a goose, but it’s still stressful for the geese to have a dog chasing them into the water. People are obsessed with dogs and considerer them like children. They are mentaly deranged people . Dogs are unpredictable predators and almost anything can trigger an attack. A woman athlete was training when she was attacked by two dogs that managed to jump over the fence of the house . They had to amputate a leg and they are trying to save the arms. Also they transmit diseases and parasites to people. Dogs should be banned from our cities and villages. They don't belong there and people should not impose on them a lifestyle that is not natural to them.
