      That stinks. Harm 4 swans, killing 2, seriously injuring the others, including half blinding one, and they didn't even get a proper slap on the wrist?! So now the brats are somewhere else, and likely to be harming more innocent creatures...
      Best look out, keep treating minor crimes like that and your appt to create the kind of problems many major cities in the States have created for themselves.

    Seriously, multiple animals are being shot and some killed in the same area - someone needs to clamp down on it! I don't believe having the perpetrators simply "moved on" is enough. I can't fathom the types of horrible/insecure people who feel morally okay with attacking animals with anything and then just leaving them injured/dying. This is why people like WAF are so important and need as much support as possible to keep doing the wonderful work they do!

    • @SpeedDemonStar
      @SpeedDemonStar Před 3 lety +17

      It's even worse given that there's countless studies that've proven time & time again that those who abuse animals like that, inflicting pain simply for the fun of it, often end up doing the same to fellow humans, particularly anyone they befriend, date, and particularly marry. It's also been shown that early intervention is the best way to stop this behavior before they hurt someone, whether it be physical, psychological, or any other type of abuse you can think of.

      People don't realise that less than 10% of the tiny island of Great Britain is urban but those areas house 83% of the population. 57 million people live in those urban areas. Put another way, one sixth of the population of the United States lives in a combined area less than one tenth of the size of Oregon. The result is urban areas are always very close to the countryside. As the urban areas inevitably expand much of the wildlife adapts as the place tries to accommodate everything. Thankfully, most British people love animals.

Is this swan from part II the original one that flew away in part 1? Through your comment section, I saw that in England it's illegal to kill swans? It's been proven time and time again that people who injure animals like this, with no intent to put them out of their misery and make use of the meat etc., more often than not end up moving from animals to humans (assuming they don't already harm both) and many end up being vicious abusers of any friends, coworkers, and particularly partners, spouses, and future children. It sickens me that knowing this, they still aren't doing something about it.

    What is wrong with the legal system that allows wanton cruelty to go unpunished. This is so typical of laws regarding animal abuse and neglect..no teeth. Despite losing two beautiful swans thank you to all involved for saving the other two.

    If I'm honest, watching things like that makes me want to drag people who did it behind a car. If they don't have empathy to know better, at least they would have fear of consequences >:(
    Thank you for all your hard work, you make those situations a million times better

    Using ball bearings, shot with slingshots sounds like pure sadism. My guess is the culprits are so immature they haven't developed any kind of empathy (yet).

    Excellent work by Maru. The only slight criticism I'd offer is that she didn't drop the pellet onto something metal with an accompanying ping - that's how they do it in the movies.

    How do you get such a big round object to nudge itself deep into the tissues? Feathers are supposed to be great at deflecting force, was it a pneumatic weapon? The accuracy required to hit a swan in the neck would be astounding for a slingshot, wouldn’t it?

    • @2stroke4me
      @2stroke4me Před 3 lety

      This! A slingshot is not accurate enough nor is it powerful enough for such a big ball bearing to dig in so deep, let alone multiple ball bearings. My guess was also a pneumatic weapon, which is even more worrying.
