  • Vibrato can be intimidating to learn but it doesn't have to be! Please note that these are only my own thoughts and opinions about learning and practicing vibrato.

I've been inspired to play oboe from an anime called "Liz and the bluebird" it was so emotional and the oboist is so confident and played it with expression. Plus the song that the band played were real students playing it. Instead of using audio

I played oboe in woodwinds class in college, and in a group in college called beginning ensemble. I was a trumpet major, and I never got beyond playing with a straight tone on oboe, but it’s an interesting instrument to play!!

Your vibrato sounds great! I just saw a video of another oboe teacher trying to teach vibrato and it sounded horrible. My daughter played oboe all through school, and I just love the instrument.

Hi! This was a very helpful video and I’ve been looking at your reedmaking videos in particular and was wondering if you could do a few more videos on the subject, as you mentioned maybe doing videos on knife sharpening and the anatomy. Thanks a ton dude, thanks for being such an amazing resource!

I can do the whistling vibrato with a'd without the Reed, but when I try it with the oboe we can't hear the vibrato. Can you help me please?

It might take a few weeks to build the muscle groups up, you may try on a lighter reed as well. Be patient, keep reviewing the exercises and be true to your musical vision :) good luck!

I’d like to point out I learnt vibrato by blowing on it and the reducing the air and then like doing that and with a good month of work and many crying sessions I got it
