  • At the final round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Fredrik Noren was kind enough to let us shadow him for the entire day to see the inner workings of a privateer team.
    Since it was the final round of the year and it was located in the Midwest, the Precision Site Works/Tilube Honda rider was actually able to pit out of the same rig the team uses for supercross. However, throughout the day Fredrik, his wife Amy, and his mechanic Tyler Nowlin all stressed that this wasn't the way it had been for the majority of the outdoor rounds since the Precision Site Works/Tilube Honda team is supercross only.
    Once the race was over and everyone had said their goodbyes, we had the three give us a quick tour of their yellow van to see how this privateer trio had been roughing it for most of the summer.

    Fredrik Noren shreds on a dirtbike. Have been following him since 2017 supercross season, hopefully he can get picked up by a factory backed team. 12th in points as a privateer, just imagine what he could do on a factory ride

    Fredrik is so fast AND persistent. it´s just ridiculous that he is not yet a factory rider.
    Best attitude in the business, that smile.

      doug148877 I couldn't agree more. It's great to pursue his dream and have a girlfriend and buddy support that journey. At minimum they should buy a ghetto blaster RV and a trailer.
      With that said, the sport needs to evolve somehow. Maybe a third party service that is sponsored by the sport or the big brands, that could help with bike/equipment transportation for most/all of the unsponsored riders. Give them 1-2 years of transport to let them pursue their dream.

    Honestly this makes me really sad. Freddy has consistently been a top 10 guy since 2013 and this is how he has to live his life. All of the top 20 guys should have guaranteed factory rides. This scares me and shows me what the possible future of moto will be :(. I hope You get everything you guys deserve freddy

    This is a true guy to look up to. Some might even say hero. This guy took a chance to go from sweden/europe and race in the U.S. Grinding from 2011 until now and not even close to quit. Like the video shows, he sleept in the van a few nights, he fly around with tools in his suitcase just to get to the next round. If anybody deserves a fac ride next year, its not Broc Tickle or Justin Bogle that currently is without teams next year, its the little guys like Fredrik Norèn. But he said under an interview and i quote: Unfortunately im somewhere good in the wrong discipline. If im to put it in numbers US is about SX 70%, and 30% is about MX." But yes, he so deserves a factory ride for 2018 in MX. And as the swede i am i hope for factory in SX also.
    BIG UP FAST FREDDY!
    And yes, before all the US haters arrive, i know Bogle finished 6th and Broc "only" 56 points behind Fredrik

    The 12th best soccer player is a millionaire. Same with baseball, football, golf, even the 12th best tennis player is making a good living. These folks are living in their car! ??? This is heartbreaking. Fuck pro motocross and supercross. Most demanding physical sport eh? Disgraceful. Somebody is getting rich! Follow the money. Time for an expose.

      Soccer in Spain gets 18000 people on each stadium per week, that's on the main league. That's 180000 per week (10 matches) multiplied by 38. We're talking about over 2 million people and we haven't counted the Cup matches (like NCAA's basketball March Madness but with soccer teams, even 4th tier teams enter it) and the rare but hugely attended continental matches (Champions League + Europa League). Just in matches involving first-tier teams we can talk of 4 million people live.
      The audience at home is a lot weirder but every single week you have ONE first-tier match on network team (low and middle of the table kind of teams), those get a million spectators. 38 million at home plus the Champions League matches, which range between 2 and 7 million and you have like 15-20 of those per year. 38+60 million people, that's almost 100 million spectators.
      4 million people live, 100 million at home, all this without counting the international broadcasts.
      AMA Motocross gets between 15000 and 30000 people for 12 rounds (people talking about crowds of 40000 outdoors nowadays are full of shit). AMA Supercross gets between 25000 and 50000 for 17 rounds. Around 1 million people live, the numbers aren't huge but not bad. AMA Motocross' TV audience per round is in the 250k range AFAIK, supercross gets to 600k. You want many factory riders with 1 million people live and 13 million people at home with little broadcasting to outside the USA. C'mon, guy, be realistic.
      MotoGp has an audience of 4 million people live and, back when it was on network TV in Spain, had an audience of like 70 million total just in the country. 4 million people live, 70 million in front of the TV in Spain alone plus many other countries like Italy, France, the UK, Germany, Eastern Europe, Southest Asia, Japan, the USA...
      If you want money just follow the people. People move the money. You either need a big poor audience (MotoGp, NASCAR, most team sports...), a decently-sized audience with a nice pocket (tennis, golf...) or a bunch of rich fucks (sailing, horse racing).

      @Davinhomx Před 6 lety +1

      Diego Ruiz you are right for the most part, but not in everything...first up to show you soccer...Schalke in germany gets an average of around 60.000 prople per week into the stadium...stuttgart wich was a second league team last year did get around 40.000 per week wich is incredible...BUT none of this teams would tell you that they make their money with the ticket prizes hahaha thats bullshit!! It maybe more like that for super- motocross but thats not the most part..never!!... i dont think that guys like roczen etc. Are getting bad money, they are millioners...i think reed and stewart at one time back in the days where both way above the 10 million dollars mark...its also the team you race for! Ktm is able to give you hughe money cause they sell a whole lot of bikes! Monster energy and red bull also will pay you good...i thinks Roczen was a millioner in europe just because of FOX.... it is about how fame you are..and this guy had one good season, it will look different next year...even tho you wont believe me...there are moto2 racers able of getting to the top 15 in some races wich arent getting enough sponsors or a team so they have to leave completely, no chance to show anyone anything anymore! Cause the sport is that much more expensive! Thats not that much better for a guy like that too

    • @Davinhomx
      @Davinhomx Před 6 lety

      And for the people who dont know...its no joke! There was an interview with Stewart when he was on his highest point where he got asked if he would be able to catch up to Reeds 22 or 25 mil per year! I am not kidding! He amswerd he wouldnt say that but hus new contract is great...there are people makin money, altough i font know if every penny of reed incom back than was from racing itself
