As a Lumix G1 user I really did enjoy this. Thank you for taking snobbery out of the equation for some of us on a tight budget. Lovely images too. Sorry to hear about Balto, that was a sad ending.

So very sad when you lose a trusted friend. RIP Balto. The number of megapixels is irrelevant; I shot for a long time with a 6 mp Nikon D70s which produced some wonderful images. As you know it's not the camera but the lens which adds the quality, but ultimately it is the photographer who "sees" the image and can produce the story.
Sorry for the loss of your pup, but keep motivating us to get out there and use what we have - hopefully with a dog!
I never cried at the end of one of your great video's. Now, I nearly did. I am sorry for your loss, it is harsh to lose a faithful companion in life.

Let's see...an entry level M4/3 camera and kit zoom that were introduced in 2009. Repeat after me. "It's not the gear..it's not the gear...(well, it IS but not nearly as much as the manufacturers want you to believe)" Best photo channel on CZcams. I know this is a year old but condolences about the pup.
Always so refreshing Craig. Lately, I've viewed far too many vlogs/discussions with too much focus on the "right gear" and proper vlogging techniques. You always have a way to cut through all the nonsense and focus on what's informative and interesting about photography and vlogging. I do appreciate your ability to convey this message. I'm passionate about photography but more so about my dogs, so I wish you comfort during your recent loss. Cheers and thank you.

Great video Craig, good to see one from you. Also wonderful images demonstrating you can buy a good camera but you can’t buy a good composition, you have to earn them with practice. It’s always good seeing a photographer proving you don’t need top of the range cameras and not just saying it. Sorry to hear about Balto, the image looks like he had a lot of personality. Take care.
I also had the same camera body. I took some decent shots with vintage lenses M42 adapter but detested the poor screen and lack of viewfinder so sold it. All part of the learning experience.
I got mine yesterday. Still rubbing my eyes looking at what I captured today! Lol

Really good results. The point is that equipment is the last resort when you have mastered composition and hit the right places at the right light times. Many people skip directly to equipment because it is easier and fast.

So sorry for your loss of Balto. I couldn't agree more with your thoughts about a canine companion. My dog has often led me to many great photos, particularly since acquiring an M43 camera to make carrying a camera on our walks as effortless as possible.

Sorry to hear of Balto's passing away. Thanks for the lovely photos. You have some lovely locations on your doorstep. I recently acquired an old camera from a friend which was about 10mp lower than my DSLR. I too found the resulting quality was actually very good.
I am going to do a vlog on Colin A filters over the next 3 months and if you don’t mind I would like to reference this vlog as part of a low budget theme. I am a LUMIX person and this was a real treat to watch. Thanks for sharing.

Delighted to see what is possible with this camera. I picked one up yesterday in mint condition at a local shop for $200. USD with the finder and half case. I also have the Oly E-P5 and E-m5 cameras.

Sorry to hear about your friend, he looked like a very loyal companion. Do keep going with the inspiring videos. I like the less is more approach. I stopped using a tripod, shooting mainly hand held but carry a monopod just in case. I often head out with an EM10 9mm fisheye and the 14mm f2.5, they help me see.

The only time I ever seen my dad cry was the morning his Yorkshire Terrier passed away..... my dad was a retired steel erected and a pretty tough cookie.....
I really liked this video. I saw a used one for $89usd. I saw it online. Unfortunately, I live in Europe, but travelling there next spring. If it's still there, might pick it up for hiking and bike rides. So sorry to hear about your dog. They really are man's best friend.
Sorry to hear about your dog, Craig. I enjoyed this one, as I used to own a Lumix GF6, which was a great little camera and it was my first mirrorless camera and this video is a fine example that you don't need the likes of a high end full frame camera to take great images.

I'd love to see you use all your modern lenses with the GF1. I think that these older M4/3 cameras will surprise you with some very capable glass in front of them.
