Many moons ago, while living in central Europe, I was at a Halloween party at my friend's bar and asked to "get the party started" as the DJ had yet to arrive and the party people were growing restless. RIP Ricky.
Had something similar happen. Driving some people to a party, asked me to put on “hype” music (I was playing Jane’s addiction so I understand) so I put on love shack and the entire car started screaming the lyrics. Not as many people as a full bar but it sure felt like there was.

Great flawless sound! All were on key, and that brass is a good touch. The B52s could and can sing about anything , put it together, and make it sound great!!! High energy and a fun band to see in-person.

It’s so amazing to see the amount of energy performing for the audience. Transformational life expanding. Thank you for mesmerizing an entire generation of music. TY B-52s for bringing about a musical shift in how fun, ketch, creative entertaining music can be without the overthought false serious self importance of really non-talented lucky muscians thinking their art is incomparable.❤❤❤
I was there that day, but never went in. Me and my friend had a cool set up with his van, an easy up for shade, and lawn chairs. We where close enough to the fence line where we could hear all the music clearly. We just sat there all day drinking beer and listening to the music. I went in for rock day, and saw U2 and Joe Walsh. Was in mostly all day for heavy metal day. Judas Priest kicked @ss. Was there for country day as well. Again we mostly sat around and drank beer while we could hear the music clearly.

I was there in 82'. The crowd was so huge, it was like human soup. I could only hear the music and could not see the band except for the huge Mitsubishi screen that crowned the top of the stage.
This band really carved out a unique and wonderful niche for themselves. From Ricky's stripped down (literally) guitar, Keith's low-cymbal drumming, the crazy and talented songwriting, to the whole band vibe...they were a joy to listen to, and to watch live.
Thank you, Woz. You were a visionary. The performances at the US Festival were pure gold and you captured the video and the audio in absolutely amazing quality. What a time capsule this is.

I was there, somewhere towards the back dancing my butt off😂
Love that funky guitar sound of his.
Although I was at the 1982 and 1983 US Festivals, I REALLY loved their Whammy tour at Irvine Meadows the best! Ricky was a phenomenal guitar player!!
Me too. Saw them at the Greek Theater too.
Les trois chanteurs ont des voix fascinantes.
Private Idaho is the name of my wife’s and I offgrid hilltop sanctuary. World leaders, big tech, and mainstream media are leading the world to destruction. Long live punk, new wave, and synth bands. Love will tear us apart again, Joy Division.

B 52's..fell in Love with them..as a Teenager...in the. Late 70/ early 80s..What a Band .saw them in Hammersmith Palais London W6..not sure the year...but it was before they made it Big....Maybe 1979/80
I was there in 82'. The crowd was so huge, it was like human soup. I could only hear the music and could not see the band except for the huge Mitsubishi screen that crowned the top of the stage.
❤ hermosas todas... I love You. La mejor banda de mis tiempos ❤❤
Feel like they were just hitting all those cylinders that night! RIP to Ricky Wilson, that guitar just hitttttssss
I was there! Thank you for giving me back My Man Ricky rocking the HE double hockey sticks out of his guitar!
This band really carved out a unique and wonderful niche for themselves. From Ricky's stripped down (literally) guitar, Keith's low-cymbal drumming, the crazy and talented songwriting, to the whole band vibe...they were a joy to listen to, and to watch live.
En 1985 los vi en Rock in Rio hoy 2023 estan en mi corazon
Thank you, Woz. You were a visionary. The performances at the US Festival were pure gold and you captured the video and the audio in absolutely amazing quality. What a time capsule this is.
when I was a teenaged mainframe computer operator in the late 70s, we'd snort biker crank, turn up the B52s and watch the blinkenlights ...
I was in 6th grade in 1981 and every dance we had, the B 52 s were the band!!! So awesome!!!
I love them, l will be 60 next year! This is real music!
61 here...our music ❤
Lots of love to the B 52 from TJ Mexico

Man they were so fucking brilliant in the early days................

Ricky Wilson is such an icon. Those guitar chords. And his love for computers. What a freaKin man ❤

The 80s were the last great decade.....before the death of enthusiasm, before pop culture was infected with, permeated with and made cheerless by detachment and irony.
The 80s ..last time we had Freedom..Free to Express ourselves 🌼.. Creativity..was off the Scale No F. Money Men and Corporations taking it..🌼🏹🏹
One of the all-time great American bands.
I was there. This doesn't do it justice. What a damn good show!
I've watched this gig a couple of times now and it gets better, they are tight af
What a whacky band - totally unique. Damn wish I was there, experiencing this live. I was like 10 when I first heard the older kids listening to these guys and dancing like crazy to them. Had a big impact
What was really odd about them and bands like Devo etc, back during this era was, on stage they were actually kind of frightening. I can't explain the feeling. As if they were futuristic, serious, intelligent and talented. Really strange feeling.
@@jameslatta6813 I saw Kraftwerk in the late 70's, and they had like robots of themselves playing -THAT was weird...
Great Band .. So Lucky that time was Fabulous 🌼🏹🏹
