I have a 1993 dodge ram D350 my adopted dad handed to me he bought it off the show room floor of dodge and cambells in centralia, Washington and he kept it mostly garaged but since I’ve had it I haven’t exactly had a garage or anything to cover it due to apartment restrictions and part of the hood and some of the body the original clear coat is coming off so I was hoping there was a easier fix then a body shop for those few spots and here we are definitely will be giving it a go!!! Thank you for showing us this product!!
Not to be rude, but why did you preface you comment with "my adopted Dad"? Does that mean he's inferior to a biological Dad? If he adopted you, then why wouldn't you just refer to him as "Dad"? Not exactly sure what the relevance is here.
Again, my comment isn't meant to be disparaging or impolite. But I'm just genuinely curious. No one here would know your personal situation, or be thinking, "I wonder if he got his truck from his biological, step, or adopted Dad?" As a "Step-Dad", I just refer to my wife's children as "my kids". But I digress. 😊
Just wondering if you’ve gotten around to trying it yet? Have a 2nd gen dodge with the same situation I’ve been wanting to fix
Just bought this kit That looks good!!!❤ just 1 coat ? If I apply a 2nd coat do I really wait 24hrs
I just put the gloss on my sanded down old single stage blue paint on my 56 f100. All I will say is don’t expect anything close to a spray on clear coat finish. This stuff is meant for old burnt out patina cars/trucks. If you wipe it on a car that still has full paint coverage it is very streaky and uneven unless you spray it on. Also, it dries VERY fast. If you lay it on thick it runs and if you lay it on thin you won’t get coverage. In addition, the applicator they supplied was leaving tons of lint behind. Pretty frustrating experience overall. My final impression is that this stuff should only be applied to vehicles with substantial patina/oxidation. Unless you are spraying it, you will not be happy with the end result on a car that has full paint coverage underneath.
Doing this rn and you are damn right about the lint from the tools provided! Had me frustrated
currently watching this while I’m in the middle of doing my 2nd coat and I agree with the comments above lol
I used to use Mop-n-Glow on my boots in the military. Same thing.
What happens if you use this on a single stage paint job? Will it add gloss?
Make sure when you use a wax and grease remover or an IPA before any coating you don’t let it dry before taking the dry cloth and removing because if you let it dry after the first wipe, all that stuff that was just picked up dries on the panel again. This is a very important step.
What?
Thanks for the tip! Small details in prep make a huge difference.
not AN IPA lol, some IPA, rubbing alcohol shit like that, dont use 805 Double Mind Haze
@@timsolomon8352 what are you having trouble understanding?
@@carsonp.7009 isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
Looks good. Noticed you cleared over the vinyl EDGE decal. Could you have done the same with the raised fender emblems?
Are y’all planning to add the chassis paint in a semi gloss?
How long does this clear coat last and what does the kit cost
