  • I decided to remove the 4AGE 20V Silvertop ITB and switched it over to the 04-05 GSXR750 ITB. I find that the gsxr750 are more easier to synchronize and more available in parts as the 4age 20v ITBs are becoming more scarce and prices are going up and will only continue to go up. I also found that it was way more affordable to do the gsxr750 itb (DIY) compare to the 4age 20v itb.
    The gsxr750 itb size seem to performed better on the stock engine than the size of the silvertop itb. So make sure to choose the itb size carefully for your engine setup.
    Side note: DON'T EXPECT A MASSIVE HP GAIN FROM SIMPLY JUST INSTALLING ITB ON YOUR STOCK ENGINE. YOU MAY GET ZERO OUT OF IT. YOU'LL NEED SOME ENGINE WORK TO IMPROVE SOME HP GAINS OUT OF A ITB SETUP.

      If you have an Instagram, I would like to follow your build. If you want a tuner who knows how to itb, reach out to Antonio Della Polla. His shop is call 8ighty 7even. He is superb at tuning itb and will take his time to dail it in properly for both WOT and most importantly, driveability. He have taught me so much since my itb setup.

I am currently working on another set of gsxr750 itb on 1.6 intake. This one I'll get it weld and get it angle at 45 degree so that I could use longer stacks.

    • @jimyang6951
      @jimyang6951  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I do, but my 1st ST itb wasn't as detailed as the gsxr750. The reason was that I was still in the learning process. If you're interested, go to my videos, and you'll find it there. It's split up in 3 parts, 10 minutes each. Take whatever info you can get from there. The base tune is almost identical to my gsxr750. You just need to make a few adjustments. Like change the timing chart to alpha-n and change your fuel setup to sequential if your ecu supports it. Or semi/sequential. It should start up and idle. From there, you can fiddle around with the numbers at idle to smooth it out.

So I waited for the whole season last yr for an manifold that was supposed to get sent out to me but turns out the itb manifold needed more work so they refunded me. Then I decided go this route which only costed me about $380 (that's including gaskets and all).

    i've got the old sohc b6 in one of my little fwd ford utes. it has the intake that goes up and over the valve cover, with the throttle opening facing the exhaust side. it's a pain in the fucken arse to work on, because to remove the valve cover you have to remove the throttle. i've thought of doing something like this for a while now, but my intake looks vastly different than the dohc intake lol. oh well, maybe next time
    edit: also, the old AFM thing is an obstacle. it's that thing with the flap inside that measures airflow. if i unplug that, the fuel pump doesn't turn on and the injectors dont fire(something to do with eliminating risk of fire in an accident) so i would need to somehow fool the ECU into getting those to work, as i cant be arsed paying 484728742848247824782472482482478$ for a new computer box

    • @jimyang6951
      @jimyang6951  Před 2 lety +1

      I know the intake manifold are different from the b6ze but the sohc b6 intake manifold runners should look similar to the b6ze. Nice thing about that is you could still chop it and still fit some gsxr itb on there. If the spacing on the intake runners are off, then you might have to get some aluminum tubes and weld it onto the intake runners to match the gsxr itb spacing.
      I had always hated those disgusting afm. It just looks ugly and shouldn't be there in the engine bay. The only way to get rid of those ugly afm is to just get a standalone ecu. There's just no way around that. When you decide to get a standalone ecu and don't want to pay a lot for it. You should be able to get by with speeduino that's a little more affordable BUT you'll be limited on somethings. I am currently using megasquirt pnp2 but I'm kicking myself because I should had just bought the megasquirt pro pnp3. The tuning chart on those are BIGGER (gives me more tune ability) and it have more options than the pnp2. I'm currently still working on my next video and will be posting it soon. It'll be about how i tuned it and how to get started on a itb alpha-n base map.

    how did you fill the holes with jb weld?

    • @jimyang6951
      @jimyang6951  Před 7 měsíci

      I used barb 5/8 fittings as shown in the video. I put a little bit of glue on the barb fittings and sit it in the throttle (injector holes). By doing this, the barb fittings will remain in place, and it will be easier for you to fill it up with jb weld.
      As for the holes where the secondary throttle shaft used to be, I filled one hole at a time. Wait until the one you fill is dry and then move on to the next. I used coffee wood stirring sticks to mix and apply the jb weld. I also used Q-tips to clean off excess run offs. Make sure you use the jb weld that hardens up in 6 mins. Once completely cured, you can go back and sand it down to smooth it out. I hope this helps
