    I’ve been in the hobby now 20+ years or so. I am a left-handed driver, therefore I’ve been driving RC trucks for so long,holding the remote upside down.Now I found FlySky Noble which enables me to drive comfortably like everyone else. The purchase is being made as you’re reading this.I will write my review after a few months of testing. Your reviews are very inspiring and the reason for this purchase today.Thank You so much for all the great precise information.

    Love your reviews, the details you pick up, so much useful detail, always learning from your vids. I'll be reviewing it with the mini z hopefully this weekend. If it's ok with you I'd like to drop a link to your video as a more comprehensive review. The lack of gyro is a pain. I found the shape of the reciever a little difficult, at least with the old flysky Rx you could take out of box and bend the pins for lower profile. But I still like the radio.

      Presumably this is a new chip. It's faster than AFHDS2A too. But yes, if you already have a bunch of 2A receivers then it's a bad investment to overhaul your fleet.
      I actually switch to this radio because if I had upgraded my RC3S to RC4GS I'd have to replace the receiver for my entire fleet anyway. If RC4GS works with my existing R4F I wouldn't have gotten this NB4.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  Před 4 lety

      @@LargeeeScaleLife I think this is really good for crawlers. I'm not doing crawling but the steering mix is really good and intuitive as demonstrated. Also with new firmware it's even better with more button mapping and adjustments like 3 position switch and of course, 8 channels.
      I have modded GT3C as well and that generation of radio is very hard to use. I'd say get Noble if you can afford it along with the receivers, it's a good investment. But if you got a lot of cars, receiver cost might pile up a lot since it doesn't support old receivers so you should consider that too.
      If you budget is restricted, GT5 is also good. I saw it has crawling mix as well.

    Hi again.
    Ended purchasing this radio. Very good value for money and was very surprised with the quality.
    I am experiencing a problem some you might know the solution.
    This happens frequently, like 1 in 3. When I turn off the receiver (Flysky FGR8B, 8 channel) the radio turns itself off and I am not able to turn it back on sometimes for more than a day. I am running latest update. Apart from this when I am to turn it on, everything works fine.
    Any idea what this might be?
    Thanks

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  Před 3 lety

      I have not experienced that problem. However I can think of something like the battery and powerbank on the base. Maybe you can check if it can run with only the internal battery without the base to check if the battery is still OK. Also if the battery in the base has worn out.

    Hi there. Great review... Very informative! I was considering getting this as I need a transmitter I can use with ONLY my right hand. I thought this might work (although it's really too expensive and sophisticated for my needs... I'm just getting my first proper RC car), but having seen your video, i think even when this is set up with the wheel on the other side, the wheel is too far out for comfortable thumb operation.
    Can you suggest any other transmitters that might work better for me? The only feature I really need, aside from the basics, is a throttle limiter as I want my son to be able to use it, too.
    Any tips gratefully received!
    Thanks

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  Před 4 lety

      There're not many radios that you can swap the side of the wheel and they are all above 150 USD like some Futaba and Spektrum DX6R. So I'm afraid you'll have to learn to operate it with left hand if you want one handed.
      I can turn the Noble's wheel back to the point that you can move it pretty comfortably with my thumb but that really depends on the physique so I can't guarantee it'd work in your hand.
      A good radio to start is Radiolink RC4GS. bit.ly/2WSjb0G
      It has everything you'll ever need and it has screen so you can adjust everything quickly and precisely.

    Thanks for the great review, just one question on receiver built-in gyro. I am using Radiolink RC6GS on my mini RWD drift car and seems the Gyro does not work very well. Just ordered a separate gyro and will test it out . Just wondering your thoughts on gyro for mini car drifting, is receiver built-in gyro is worse off than external gyro unit and why? Thank you. 🙏🏻

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  Před 4 lety

      A built-in unit is more than enough for AWD drift and touring but for RWD drift, it'll work but not as well as an external. It is usually worse than an external unit as it doesn't have the finesse, resolution and response of an external dedicated gyro. As for why, I can only guess that external gyro has dedicated hardware and software to deal with the inertia and vibration better.

    Can gyro be installed on any mini-z, atomicRC, or gl racing?
    Can this radio support gyro or do only some radios?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  Před 4 lety

      Yes, you can.
      All newer Mini-Z support gyro including EVO series (which works with this transmitter). But it needs its own gyro unit, not the one you normally use in drift car. www.rcmart.com/kyosho-mzw405-gyro-unit-mr03-p-74189.html?cPath=595_736_1670
      You can also install gyro in Atomic/GL too since they are just standard RC with different plug.
      For example here's a big one and it fits in Atomic DRZ, I've done it. www.rcmart.com/aluminum-high-stability-gyro-drift-touring-offroadcol-blue-p-66379.html?cPath=616
      Here's the video that I use this big gyro in DRZ. czcams.com/video/_-tGbCGEppA/video.html
      This is small one with micro plug ready to go in Atomic and GL. www.ebay.com/itm/3944MINI-BL-SP-MINI-GYRO-AL-Case-BL/254103498512
      FlySky Noble NB4 can control gyro gain via channel 3 or 4, just assign a dial to the channel you connect the gyro to, usually we connect it to channel 3 so the wires are tidy.
      Actually if you install gyro unit on a car, you don't necessary need a dial from the transmitter because you can adjust it from the dial on gyro itself. Connecting gyro to channel 3 only adds a bit of convenience. The way it works is it reads position signal on the transmitter and translates that signal into gyro gain. So any transmitter with dial or VR knob can remotely control gyro gain (oif the unit has that feature, of course).
      Sorry for long answer. Feel free to ask if you want further clarification.

If it is possible is there extra equipment that needs to be hooked up or can I just plug the temp sensor right into the ibus port?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  Před 2 lety +2

      I mostly see about 3-4 hours. The top will blink constantly. You will need to look at the base (and it doesn't show clearly either). How to tell it's full is that the light bar is divided into 3 sections. It will lit up all of them in series and none of them continue to blink. That's when the battery is full.
      For example if it lights up 1-2 and 3 on the blink a few times then it's not full yet. If it lights up 1-2-3, goes out and repeat 1-2-3 again then it's full.

      I just feel so overwhelmed, I am completely lost.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  Před 4 lety +3

      @@DanielCollins85 So I went and download the TRX4's manual, it has 2 speed gear box and remotely locking differentials which honestly will be difficult to setup for any aftermarket transmitter as all of these 3 extra servos will need specific position command from the transmitter. But don't be discouraged.
      Let's make it simple first. You can use only 2 channels to drive the car. Steering servo connects to channel 1, this is where you have to check which servo is connected to. Because right now I think you connect the servo from gearbox instead of steering to channel 1. Then ESC connects to channel 2. Try these 2 channels first. Once you get both of them working then move on to setup other channels.
      I presume the servo near the ESC is the one that controls gearbox. Plug gearbox servo in to channel 3. Then assign a button or dial to control it. Next you have to set the EPA and steps of each click so it shifts the gear correctly. The last thing is locking differential. Since out of the box, the receiver has 4 channels and this car needs 5 to control all the diffs. If you can drive without this function it'll be easy. Otherwise you'll have to get a channel expansion module and setup channel 4 and 5 with mixing.
      This all sounds really complicated and to be honest I've never had a crawler. This is all what I can see from the manual. So you can find the information and help from a RC or crawler forums like rctech.net . They should be able to help you better than I do.
