  • What is structural biology and how does it help us to understand life at the molecular level?
This video, from EU funded projects iNEXT and iNEXT-Discovery, shows how, using a variety of technologies, we can determine the structures and interactions of molecules inside the cells that make up all living organisms. To understand the role a specific protein molecule plays in the development of disease, or how a living organism functions at the smallest level, you have to understand the structures of the molecules, as well as their movements and interactions.
Because these technologies are important for many fields of research, and for many scientists, the EU has provided funding to enable many researchers to get access to these technologies through the projects iNEXT (653706) and iNEXT-Discovery (871037).
