Like to know:
Have a wall mounted, Paryware, toilet. This has water leak while being flushed. The plumber used silicone sealant and rubber washer at the water inlet pipe while refitting the commode. Allowed to settle / dry for a day and half. Water leak is not stopping completely.
Sir can you please suggest a remedy for this, proper sealants/ method in assembly or any other factors.
Appreciate response.
Check for Tightness: Ensure that all connections, including the water inlet pipe and any other connections related to the toilet, are properly tightened. Sometimes, a loose connection can result in leaks.
Inspect the Washer: Examine the rubber washer used at the water inlet pipe connection for any signs of damage or wear. If it appears worn out, replace it with a new one.
Use Thread Seal Tape: Plumbers often use thread seal tape (also known as plumber's tape or Teflon tape) to create a watertight seal on threaded connections. Ensure that this tape is properly applied to the threads of the water inlet pipe before connecting it to the toilet.
Sealant: Silicone sealant is commonly used to seal gaps and joints, but it's essential to apply it correctly. Make sure that the sealant is applied evenly and covers all potential leak points. Allow it sufficient time to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions before using the toilet. Sometimes, it may take longer than a day and a half for the sealant to fully cure.
Call a Professional Plumber: If the issue persists despite your attempts, it might be best to contact a professional plumber with experience in handling toilet leaks. They can assess the situation and use their expertise to resolve the problem.
Consider a Different Sealant: Depending on the type of material your toilet and plumbing connections are made of, there may be more suitable sealants available. Discuss this with your plumber to ensure the right sealant is used for your specific setup.
Inspect the Toilet: Check the toilet itself for any cracks, damage, or defects that could be causing the leak. If you find any issues, you may need to replace or repair the toilet.
