Dabi wanted to become a hero but his quirk caused damage to himself making his father think he is weak but with enough training the weakness will go away causing dabi to use to much power and almost killed himself. With Tomura he wanted to be a hero. But if you’ve seen the show or read the manga Tomura’s father is the son of Nana shimura. Tomura’s father thought since his mother was a hero and she abandoned him/ gave him to a family member to fight and get killed by all for one he thought that his mother thought her job was more important than her son leading him to hate hero’s and to force his family to never inspire to be a hero. Long story short tomura gets his quirk accidentally killing his father first out of anger than mother, than the rest of the siblings, all for one takes him in and makes him think it’s the hero’s fault for his life to be so corrupted.
