Kelly Mayo solo stuff? Not something I asked for but something I needed
"I freaked out that she was dumb enough to OD in my house." This line has all sorts of emotions whizzing through my head. Sadness that the young woman in this song saw her only way out of the abuse was to take her own life. Anger that the bloke who pushed her into the state of mind that she took an OD.
I also think Kelli is both brave and wonderful for doing this song from the perspective of the abuser of a young woman.
On top of all that it is a great song, thank you Kelli, Scott, Scot and Buckethead.
Addicts often put themselves in not as good of relationships to continue their self abuse, but we have no sign here of any violation of rights among two who lacked respect of each other.
@@JaefarSABNW Oh what a sheltered holier than thou life you must lead. Having spent most of my working life nursing people who have over dosed and for people with various addictions, there is no set pattern. All are individuals with their own story to tell.

Holy shit, I actually love this it’s really brilliant. I mean it’s just so chill yet agressive but it’s so original, like I can’t imagine this on a skating polly record, it just sounds really new and cool. The lyrics have no shame, don’t give a shit what you think and it’s beautiful, and the way they’re phrased is just heavenly.
I'd be totally down if this song had like 12 minutes, such a masterpiece of art right there. Kelli you are a genius.

What a laid back groove that sort of creeps up on you, then at the same time it slaps you in the face with a powerful haunting message.
Wonderfully airy, there's a faint nöd to Portishead in the lyrical delivery, which is nice.

This is swimming, even over shitty phone speakers, the keys and rattling production on the organ are sickly sweet and gorgeous. The harmonies on the backing vocals add so much to the space too,

Love the starkness of the literal lyrics framed by metaphor.
Using blunt exposure of his ugliness so this guy can never use this song as a trophy of a young woman's broken heart, knowing they will hear the truth in it.
Bit of a Portishead vibe going on there, musically. And a powerful pay-off with the lyrics at the end. Nice.
Big fan of the deep low bass. Rock is sadly lacking in the lows. This is perfect.

It used to be good but they butchered the best of the new album with ska horns. They only have one solid album and a few songs here and there. Nothing special though.
