- I ran out of space at our new house and needed outside storage bad! Here's an overview of the project!
Overall Cost was around 850$ to build.
Dimensions were 6' by 10' with a height of 8' against the back wall. We'll be painting it in the spring when it warms up!

Awesome job. I followed your lead on this and built an 8’x12 one just like it. I particularly like the roof style. It saves on lots of materials as opposed to the gable style which would require much more time, materials and $$ money $$. It accomplishes the exact same thing, shedding water off the top and for a lot less in the way of time and cost.
Thank you so much for sharing this , I’m sure you have helped a lot of people including myself.

I’m glad to hear it! And I agree completely, if I could have gone bigger in my space I would have too! I’ve already outgrown it. Growing up, my step dad was in the military so we lived on mcquire AFB and later Burlington, NJ. Find my page on Facebook and message me a few pictures, I’ll post them up there. Thanks for sharing Anthony!
Will do!
Less than 9 min! I can build my shed before i go to work 😊
Exactly! That’s all that it takes! Haha, thanks for the comment
Im gonna do it on lunch break, and i still have enough time to finish my lunch lol
Lovely video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing one off guide for building better sheds and woodworking minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my m8 finally got amazing results with it.
Legit made me laugh out loud!
🤣🤣
Okay. I'm impressed. Thank you for making this time lapse video. It helps a lot. Good job.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
This was a very satisfying build to watch! Great job.
Thank you very much!
I'm extremely impressed, dude!
Pretty cool. That's how I'm going to do mine.
Hello, thank you for the helpful video! Looking at doing something like this for my church and would love if you could share a building plan/material list. What you did is the exact type of thing we’re looking to build. Thank you!
Awesome video Thank you for sharing, awesome outcome. You have motivated me to start on mine after procrastinating for like 12 years.. Thanks again..
Thank you very much! I appreciate the view and the comment! Go start your shed this weekend now! Haha
hello from the UK, Love this easy shed build would love the plans for it . I am going to hit that big red button and look forward to watching more of your videos Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the kind words! I’m hoping to get plans up soon and another video soon as well. Thanks again!
Thanks neighbor for keeping me up that cold night.
If it was cold, then the sun goes down at like 6 ish.. so yeah, you’re not asleep and noise ordinances are generally until like 9 or 10 or 11 depending
Oddly satisfying! Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the comment!
Ratchet strap and jack is a good tip. Nice job!
Thank you for the posting, You did an outstanding job. I'm greatly inspired by your build. Looking forward to starting and building one that I so desperately need.....Once again, great work.....Thank you
Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out, I appreciate it greatly and glad I was a help! Good luck on your build!!
Nice workmanship. Good looking storage. Thank you 🙏. Beautiful 🙏🌷
Thanks for the comment and compliment!
Thanks so much for posting. You gave me the perfect idea of how to build a 6’H x 4’W x 2’D storage shed on my deck. It’ll be a lot simpler than yours, and watching your design just made mine soooo much easier to make.
But I was a bit disappointed…no stain glass windows 😉😂
Haha could have been a great she shed or man cave! Lol, I needed more wall space for the stuff in it though
Awesome work bud!!!
Awesome Video Brother!!! Thank you so much for inspiring me to built mines!!!
Solid shed, nice work.
Thanks!
Really helps if you have carpenter skills. You make building a shed look so easy. I only need to build a 6' wide x 2' depth x 6' height shed but I'm skeptical of my carpenter skills. I just need to buy a custom kit.
I never had any formal training, just learned over the years. If you are making something that shallow, I would suggest anchoring it to a building or something, that will not resist winds easily. I was worried about mine a little bit at first even but with it against the house, I should be ok.
Would love those plans. Great job looks amazing
I’m working on them, I’ll be posting them to my Facebook page hopefully in the next few days
Whats your facebook page
Awesome!
very impressed, great job, plan to do one for my house as well
Thank you very much!
Intrested in the plans !
Wow, this came out great...You are so good at this...I miss doing this type of stuff...Great video fun to watch 👍
I like the overhang in the front. Keeps the water out and you won't get as wet being inside withe door open during rain.
That was the thinking behind it! Works pretty good, keeps the inside dry from splash back since I am not installing gutters on this.
Great job
Super basic. Love it. Thanks for the video bro.
Thanks for the comment Carlos, I appreciate it!
Mad skills!
Thank you!
AWESOME!!!
Nice work. Appreciate the video
Look awesome!!!
Thank you very much!
I wish I had your carpenter skills
Thanks for the video. I’m looking to build a small shed too and this is helpful. One question though- the concrete blocks on which the shed rests- is there a chance that it might sink over time? Anything can be done to potentially counter that? Many thanks
I'd be concerned about the flooring edge exposed on the 3 taller sides where the sheathing was shorter than the front. Plus without those 3 sides being fastened to the rim joist, lateral stability has to rely on just the fasteners in the studs. But I guess it's easy to be a critic being a spectator in the cheap seats. Your video was inspirational. Now I need to get to work and build my own.
Haha you said it better than I could have. The sill plates were fastened into the joists. I agree about the sub floor being exposed, but with this not being a heated space, and the roof over hang, I’m not too worried about it for now, once I paint it, I may go in and add some more trim and caulking, thanks for the comment Steve!
Remember it’s just a shed
@@DavidRodriguez-wd2sz Yup, nobody is going to live in it...hopefully.
I think I need to go slightly bigger and use this as a art studio. Loved this though!!!!!
I like how you make it look so easy. If possible I would like to have the plan for it . Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately I have not figured out how to upload good plans and make them available. Sorry.
@@Slaterandson - You can put them on a Google Drive and share the link. Free and easy.
Awesome Job!
Thank you!
Looks better than the house. Good job!
Thank you. 😊
Great job 👏🏻
Thanks Don!
I loved your video because after watching many on sheds yours in fast streaming is great because it is inspiring
Thank you! Good luck with your build! Thanks for the comment!
@@Slaterandson What kind of siding is that? Looks good and simple to install.
@@NicodemusatNite it’s on 4 x 8 sheets, I believe it’s some type of engineered wood siding pre primed
Thanks for sharing this video. I really liked the design of this storage shed and planning to built an 8x8 ft shed that would fit in our backyard. Can you kindly share all the material required along with building plan as this would be our first time doing this kind of project. Thanks 😊
Nice build dude.
Amazing build! Please share the plans with me as well, thank for doing so!
Will do! Still working on drawing them up for them to make more sense!
Share for me too pls 🙏
Very nice
Thanks
Can I have the plans for this shed this is the perfect size for what I need and you did a great job on building it
Hi, this is a great video, I am planning to build one by myself by following your plan. Would it be possible to share the material list with me, especially the roofing materials. Thanks.
This is the best build I seen on youtube, Would you mind giving me more info about this, I'm planning to build the same thing
Thanks man I really appreciate the kind words, I don’t have any plans yet, but if you have any questions I’d be more than happy to answer them
A fine shed
Thank you sir!
Awesome build. The wife and myself just got an acre of land and the house has no garage so I will be building a shed for our tools etc
Need to build one too for tools to go in
Nice work!
Thanks!
Good video!!
Love the video, this is exactly what I need to build on the side of my house. Great Job. Can you send me the material list and plans, thanks
Good job 👍
Thank you!
Great Vid!!!
Thank you!
I kept on watching hoping someone would bring you out a cup of tea or coffee. Great build man.
Hahaha, I got a kick out of that comment! Thanks for the kind words!
Nice job! I picked up a few things watching this! Ignore the 👎🏾 people will always find something wrong with anything you do. Nice job
Thank so much! I appreciate the nice comment! Take care
Nailed it!
Thank you! Thanks for the comment too
@@Slaterandson Thanks for the video! It was exactly what I was looking for and a huge help.
Well done sir
Thank you!
would love the plan and material list!
I would love the equipment list in order to build this shed but I’m unsure of how to obtain the plans…please let me know how I can purchase them!
Hey so I have a question about this so how many pieces of wood did you have to go through/buy? And what where the sizes of the wood.
Thanks for your time.
Thanks for the build. This is awesome DIY project. What is the height from front of the shed ?
The back wall is 8 foot floor to rafter and the front wall is 7 foot. Thanks for the kind words!
Lucky you got to work in refreshing free AC.. in Florida it's so depressing to me to do work in the summer heat outdoors. I get what I can done but just get a overwhelmed depressed feeling w all the home repairs I need.
I used to live in Mississippi, couldn’t take that heat! I can’t complain about our weather in PA
This is AWESOME! Great video! I am DEFINITELY interested in your plans, if you're willing to share! This is exactly what we're planning on doing. Again, great job!
Thanks for the kind words Ernest! Send me your email and I’ll send you what I have. I think I have the list of materials I used as well I’ll send too. I think you can private message me on here if you don’t want to post your email publicly
I don't mind. oddity98@gmail.com
Slater & Son hi I would like to have your plan and material list please
This might sound repetitive but I’m in total agreement with the previous statements this is an awesome video!!
I’d be interested too
The Best Ever :-)
Thank you!
What are those wood sheets you used for the outside called?? And where can I buy them
That's an awesome build! Nice shed for extra storage!. You got yourself a new subscriber:)
Thanks a lot! Hoping to put out a deck build video in a few weeks, that’s next weeks project at least! And thanks for subscribing, I’ll check out your channel as well!
Slater & Son thanks! I’mlooking forward to the video!!
Great video content! Apologies for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you thought about - *WoodBlueprints. Com* It is an awesome exclusive guide for building better sheds and woodworking without the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate at very last got astronomical success with it.?
Lovely Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (do a search on google)? It is a good exclusive product for building better sheds and woodworking minus the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my good mate called Gray got astronomical success with it.
Guys I am learning woodworking shed plans at *WoodBlueprints. Com* I recommend this website all you guys who are beginner or advance in woodworking
Great looking shed
👍👍👍
I have the tools to build something like that
But i just dont have the time to build it 😟
Thanks! I had to take the time to do it or else I was going to have stuff get ruined more from weather! Good luck with your build!
I would like to get the plans for this shed. How would I alter it to a 10' x 10' shed?
Great job!! I am looking to build a 6x8 well house do you have plans for that ??
Sorry no plans
Great! Can you let us know the materials you used? Thanks!
Very nice! How did you mount the floor to the blocks?
Thank you! And since I leveled the blocks relative to each other, there is nothing attaching them. In our area, that’s all you need to do for sheds. I may be wrong, but in areas with higher winds, you may need some sort of ground anchor.
She's a beaut Clark! I may hit you up for those plans and materials list. I need to get my power equipment outta the garage asap!
Thank you! I’ll hopefully be posting them soon to Facebook page, might be easier to post them in one place! I’m just finishing up some remodeling on a flip house this week and then I’ll be able to draw them up!
And I just got your Christmas vacation reference! Haha
i love how easy the plans are in *WoodBlueprints. Com* to understand and the step-by-step videos they have. Makes getting material really easy
Looks great. I’d like the plans is possible.
Thank you! Unfortunately I have not made any plans to date, I hope to have them soon
Nicely done. Build and video.
How close to the house? Wondering how you paneled the outside of the back wall.
Did you lose a window in the house? Access to electrical service?
Hello, about 2 feet from the house. We have window that is on our staircase inside (that we never use) so you can’t tell on the inside really. Electrical service is all remote read, but since this isn’t the permanent location, I wasn’t worried much anyway. We plan to move it in a year or 2.
Nice
Hey. It’s cool video. What is name the metal for that roof stud?? You got two kind of metal right?? Different size? Thanks
This were just joist hangers for the rafters, they’re not necessary I got a different joist hanger for the floor joists also,
Can you share the plan ? I need shed at my place as well . This would help me out a lot .thanks for video
I’ve never figured out how to share plans other than what I had written on a napkin. I will sit down and make plans sometime soon I’m hoping
Thanks for the video Slater, I am thinking of building a similar 8x10 shed. Please send me the plans if you can
Thank you, I never did build plans since I just built it without myself, if I ever put some together, I’ll post in the description
What did you use for a foundation? Great job!
I feel like that thing would blow over if the big bad wolf came!!! Overall its a very well built shed, juat where I live id need to secure it to the ground somehow
I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have any big bad wolves near me! Haha. I put mine against the house for that reason. We don’t get a ton or wind either. In our area, sheds can’t be attached to the ground, if you attach them, you get taxed as a permanent building. Typically why they’re on blocks. Thanks for the comment.
@@Slaterandson ahhhh cheating the system, gotta love it!!
I would like to see the plans for your build. Thanks
Hello just wondering if the side walls and the front are the same high?
What kind of roofing is that? I live in Canada and get lots of snow. Anyone know if it would hold up in Canadian winters?
What is that white fence mesh called that you used for underneath the fascia?
What is the siding made of? Cool music too!
It’s actually a type of engineered plywood that’s cheap, around 35$ a sheet. It is available at most big box stores. And thanks!
Great video! Did you plan on covering you house window?
Thank you! And that’s the project after I finish another house remodel! Gotta patch the aluminum siding. There were too many windows in the kitchen to be able to hang kitchen cabinets when we remodeled
gotta sprinkle some nice ramp on that bad boy
Haha, I have another shed that I pull
My riding mower into. This one works perfect for my work supplies, just about the exact height and makes it easier to load and unload, plus the slope of the driveway made it a little higher too.
You can use reg wood for framing and not pressure treated?
In my area it’s pretty damp, but even in most environments, I would use pressure treated for the floor beams. I used standard 2x4’s for the. Walls and roof.
Nice, I wear the same boxers
...nice lol
Craftsman at work! Great vid man. Well worth a subscribe on this alone.
If you work this fast alone, i pity the apprentice/trainee try to serve ye.
Haha, I usually just work alone on my house flips too! lol. Thanks for the compliment!

i WANT TO BUILD ONE 8X8 BUT INSULATE THE FLOOR WITH ROXUL ROCKWOOL AND USE 4X4 SKIDS WITH PATIO BLOCKS UNDER IT TO KEEP SKIDS OFF THE GROUND
Greetings from Croatia! I really like the shred you built. Im looking into building one myself. What if i need a anti-thief lock? The lock you used is easily removed with a screwdriver, any idea how to make a thief proof door?
Hello Draxx! That’s for the kind words! As far as a latch that is theft deterrent, I did a quick search, the only thing that wouldn’t have screws on the outside would be a deadbolt lock like you would find on your house. Every latch I found online had screws that could easily be removed. Unless you took a regular latch and coated the screws and surrounding area in a silicone caulking, but that would only still be a deterrent.
You could possibly use bolts with lock nuts on the inside. So if attempted they would be loosened but could not be removed? Or carriage bolts with nuts on the inside to tighten them down, Just some thoughts.
Ed D Ice that is a great idea too! Might be easier than trying to do what I was saying too.
Hope about adapting the lock from a truck camper??
Turn the knob
The bolts slide into place into goes drilled into the framing
Lock the knob
Would be really secure IF you could find one long enough to mummy it vertically where the knob usually goes
Turn the knob
Bolts slide into holes in the header and sub floor
Nice foundation without pouring concrete. Like a deck build.
Our area cannot have a fixed foundation for a shed due to taxes. This is common in our climate to put on blocks, I’ve had no problems with any of my sheds on the property.
Awesome I would like the measurements to try and built me a she shed
the best way would to just measure the area you need. conform to the stud spacing. you should be fine. figure your height and depth. other then that is like making a speaker box with ribs. minus the glue
I did 16” on center for this build for strength when relocating the shed
