    My favorite genre! My all time favorites, and the books I can’t stop recommending to people, are All the Light We Cannot See, Girl in the Blue Coat, and The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. Currently reading Codename Verity, can’t wait to finish it!

    • @callmeaftercoffee

    Ah my absolute favourite genre! Some of my favourite WW2 Historical fiction are : the book Thief, salt to the sea (but especially between shades of grey!) The nightingale by Kristin Hannah, all the lights we cannot see, codename Verity and I have some Dutch favorites but no idea if they're translated or not

    • @callmeaftercoffee
      @callmeaftercoffee  Před 4 lety +1

      All great suggestions! I want to read between shades of grey so bad!
      The Nightingale definitely should have been on this list 🙈 it was one shelf down and I missed putting it in the stack lol. It had a couple things that I didn't love, but still a very solid story ☺️💕

    I am starting Salt to the Sea today! It's been on my TBR forever and I cannot wait. There is snow on the ground where I am, and for some reason, winter always puts me in a historical fiction mood! All the Light We Cannot See is fantastic! It's one of those books I tend to think about still and I read it like 4 months ago now. It's amazing.

    • @callmeaftercoffee
      @callmeaftercoffee  Před 4 lety +1

      I hope you love it! It's been snowing here ALLLLLL DAY. And it's windy 🥶. I definitely feel like winter makes me crave historical fiction as well 💕.
      And all the light- yes, so great! I read it over a year ago now and the story just stays with me. I'm so thankful I tend to rememberbooks really well because I feel like they really stick with me. Like if I forget a book, it's a reallllllly forgettable book 😂🙈

    Look into Dragonfly by Leila Meachum. I picked it up randomly one day from the bookstore and its turned into one of my favorites of the year. It’s a very different take on WWII Nazi-occupied Paris than I’ve ever read before. Great job on the video!

    The Secret Life of Violet Grant is my favorite historical fiction! There is a definite romance in it but I liked it even though I also don’t like romance! Anything by Beatriz Williams is really good. A lot of people didn’t like The Alice Network but i enjoyed that one too!
