    I really enjoyed the caves, thank you for showing and explaining their histories. "The sun on my back and the rain on my head" sounds like a folk song. :-)

    Hello Nicole and Craig. What a lovely place to lark. It was unfortunate that the caves were gated up but also understandable. Too bad everyone doesn't have the same respect for the past. Thank you friends for letting me tag along.

    Fabulous video Craig and Nicole. Really loved seeing the caves and learning of their history. What a shame some people feel the need to damage things with graffiti and such.

    Hi Nicole and Craig,
    You are troopers! Going out on a "dreigh day" to find of course the Find of the Day🌟 and nice pieces of beach glass.
    Jonathan's cave has been on an episode of Time Team, years ago. It was really interesting to learn more about the cave and how people lived there.
    You can still find that episode on CZcams.
    I wish you a wonderful weekend, filled with sunshine and happiness!
    Sending you lots of love, xoxo ❤, Ilona

    Ah.
    Aaah!
    The PICTS,the BRTONS,the SCOTS,fine tribes,all of them.
    This is your heritage,Craig and Nicole.
    Those ancient drawings on the cave.
    Could this Pict imagery be the source of the word ‘picture’?

    • @juneyshu6197
      @juneyshu6197 Před 4 měsíci +1

    • @charlesperez9976
      @charlesperez9976 Před 4 měsíci

      I know! Could it be possible that the PICTs are the root word for ‘Picture’??

    • @scottishmudlarking
      @scottishmudlarking  Před 4 měsíci

      Picts were apparently named picts after painted people by the Romans. There are some images online where the Picts are shown as having lots of tattoos and applied paint on their bodies. The inside of the caves are amazing when you do a tour with the cave society! :)

    I am a stone lover, so I love your trip down to the beaches. I think I saw some small Agat-likes one too, but not quit sure.It looks like you have wind and rain weather? I do not like caves or tunnels, find them scary and I feel like the tunnel-ceilings are dumping on my head, I have some claustrophobia for sure. Even watch others give med anxiety. But, it is interesting to look at stalagmites and stalactites though. hugs and thank you bought for the tours.

    • @scottishmudlarking
      @scottishmudlarking  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thanks so much! I am ok with short caves but we went down one that was like a long tunnel and very low underneath St Andrews castle a few years ago and I had to leave - Craig kept going , he is not scared like me!

    That was a fun trip even if it was dreich. Those are cool caves. I've seen them in several videos. If I'm not mistaken, Time Team did a dig outside of one of them at one point.
    You asked if we collected fossils. Yes! My husband and I have a collection of fossils, mostly from when we lived in Indiana. There were great fossils there. Trilobites, crinoids, etc. We also have some from the UK and other places though. Actually, I collect lots of rocks whenever I go on trips, much to my husband's dismay. 😂
