I'm disappointed that the new Pan-American BB line announced today is only Tier VIII, Tier IX, and Tier X. I mean, I filled out Tier III, IV, V, VI, and VII all on my own:
Tier III: Rivadavia (Historical).
Tier IV: Almirante Latorre (Historical).
Tier V: Minas Geraes (Historical).
Tier VI: Riachuelo (Historical).
Tier VII: Hipólito (A WG-style fabrication I created: Idea that in the early to mid 1930s, Argentina would by a Scharnhorst class & built it up with American/British technology. It's named for Juan Hipólito del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Yrigoyen, the President of Argentina during their neutrality in WWI).
Probably because those historical ships you mention and want at tiers 5 and 6 are fucking ironclads. Like what the fuck, no shit why they aren't adding those into the line. 🤡🤡🤡🤡

Minas Geraes and her sister São Paulo were the ships that began the launch of Brazil becoming a great power and what started the whole South American dreadnought race to begin with.
While Riachuelo was to be the next in the line and would've been comparable to the Revenge & Queen Elizabeth classes. After Rio de Janeiro (Later HMS Agincourt, who's already in the game for both Britain & Pan-America) was sold to the Ottoman Empire, but she was cancelled due to the amount of money raised in a popular campaign to buy her from the UK when WWI broke out wasn't enough for Riachuelo. It was only enough for 3 training aircraft.

In a similar way to the Kaiser at Tier IV is in a hypothetical WWII retrofit & her sister König Albert is in her original design is at Tier III.

The sadest part is chileans did not have any ship named Libertad, BUT we did have a dreadnaught. Actually the best one in latin american history. was a low armor but long range artillery ship named the Almirante Latorre. This ship was requested by chilean navy to GB in the 1911, it was confiscated by the crown and fougth under the royal navy flag named HMS Canada in the battle of Jutland...
But WeeGee dont give a flying F about historical ships so this ship would have been... dude we DID have that ship WHAT DO YOU MEAN!!!!

It's kind of concerning that wargaming isn't making an entire like for the Pan-American BBs, it feels like they're cutting corners by only doing T8-10. Plus, grinding through 8 gimmicky light cruisers to play a brawling battleship would definitely be confusing to a new player.
No new player is installing this game and thinking to themselves "hmm, yes, I shall go down the pan-american line". That whole tree exists to add a few niche historical ships and an extra line for veteran players to grind.

I mean there are Designs wargaming could use for the tier 5 to 7 ships,
tier 5: The Agincourt Design that originally was to have 356mm guns with less turrets i think.
Tier 6: Almirante Latorre, Formally HMS Canada, has ten 356mm guns in 5 turrets.
tier 7: The Brazilian Project 781 battleships, or the Riachuelo Class, which has 15 inch guns in four twins similar to the Queen Elizabeth class in terms of looks.
Easy ships to fill in the gaps.

I will say, even though I have no connection to South or Central America, the Pan-American BB "line" feels kinda insulting. As noted by other commenters, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil had a heated dreadnought race before WWI... and *none* of them are included?!

I don't think a 17s rudder shift is a problem on its own when Ohio, arguably the best BB in the game, also has a 17s rudder shift.

@Flamuu, Pan-american cruisers also would win the increase in secondaries range. I think you did not analize it, unless you thought that was a very small increase in damage.
It amazes me how careless they are with the development of their multimillion dollar company.
The only thing saving them at the moment is lack of competition.
Also, there are still so many ideas to make unique ships that fit within the games design unexployed.
They keep on appealing to the lowest dominator, but things can be complex under the surface yet accessible to new players at the same time.

Picture this. You just excite that you got your steel ship Ragnar and suddenly Svea just show up with better engine boost ( 33% faster reload ), Has smoke to disengage, More consumables of each, Smaller turning radius, ASW plane, Has flak, Not a destroyer ( people not as frequently asking you to capture/spot as a destroyer ) while downside is that you are 1kts slower ( like 3% less something ), Radar last significantly shorter, And possibly while on Ragnar you got blasted by Battleships that shoot HE, This one blasted by AP battleships
Enjoyed the Kleber line upto the 6, the Vauquelin was garbage, the Le Fantasque was fabulous. I hated the Mogador but I enjoy the Kleber, both the gunboat and the Leg Mod version (torp boat).
Italian DDs were a cool idea during their original dev blog, short range, high damage, decent speed and good smoke would have been great in the early years of the game. Too bad almost every ship has 10km radar these days

By "brawling" Wargayming means that you rush across the map and feed your HP to their precious CV and sub scum players. That's what brawling means nowadays.
Tbh, that think should be around 100k health. They kinda forgot defensive tools on it (large turning circle, mediocre to baddish rudder, no hydro, no protected citadel, no super speed, no outstanding torpedo belt, no health, no AA[not that AA even does anything if enemy gets nakhimov or smth]) then slapped bad main guns and bad (according to weegee) firing angles.
Im sorry, but what do you expect? secondaries (which are supposed to be bad against small ships) and some gimmick to carry it, when schlieffen exists? Im sorry, what?
Wait sub torps that can't hit other subs? Don't they go into like 3D battle when they're underwater? Do your torps just phase through the other sub?!

But hey, you can buy this device wich gives you 30% more action time.
I can guarantee that these new Pan-Am will be played as mid-range HE slingers, since their 12 gens have good HE alpha but poor accuracy, and their secondaries can run at mid range. They will not be played often in brawl-range since they are so un-manoeuverable and have no hydro, and are vulnerable to cits.
Other people might not play this Brawlers but I know I will

Secondaries actually break detection, I tested it with the belfast 43, 8.9km detection, and 10.5km secondaries. They kept going off getting me spotted a 10.5km.
If they want to encourage brawling, than WG has to just suck it up and nerf HE spam and torpedo spam. No BB is gonna move in to brawl it out with another BB if a cruiser hiding behind an island is lobbing HE that on every salvo hit is doing 4K+ damage every few seconds, setting fires and by-passing armour. WG needs to change how HE works so it is less effective over all, ie: Less damage, less penn, less fires. Nerf HE damage across the board so it doesn't chunk down BBs HP, Nerf HE pen across the board so BB armour is effective once again, and nerf fire chances. No ship in game needs to be able to deal 300K+ HE DPM. None.
And Torpedo spam needs to be addressed. No BB is gonna go in and brawl when ever cruiser and DD now how has torps. Given that each team now will probably be about 80% ships equipped with Torps, they either need to hard limit torp equipped ships to 3 per side.
Or else add a passively increasing buff to the ships in the match given the number of torp equipped ships, ie: all ships will have their normal torpedo damage reduction if there are 3 or less torp equipped ships in each match, but the reduction increases by 10% for each ship over 3 equipped with torps. So if there are say there are 10 ships per side with torpedoes, something that can easily happen, every ship will get an additional 70% to their torpedo damage reduction. This will stop DD and Cruiser yolo play as their torps will jnow be doing minimal damage by themselves and will actually require DDs and cruisers to coordinate and plan with their team on how best to use their torps to ensure they get the best results
And like that, the actual major problems preventing BBs from moving in are fixed. But WG is so afraid of DDs and Cruisers crying and complaining they'd rather just keep kicking the can down the road rather than actual do what needs to be done to better the gaming experience for everyone.
HE spam is the biggest issue here but problem are not the small guns but rather the big one. The ability to damage people regarding of where it hits ( just like overmatch but bigger threshold ) discourage people to be in sight of other. A smaller gun vessels are fine as they possess no privilage of dealing damage everywhere unlike battleships that could do like 10k+ damage on whatever it hits with HE while also having 19mm minimum of overmatch which appear on every superstructure of ships ( except for retard napoli, petropavlovsk and kremlin that practically don't have superstructure ) the ships that deserve to not have HE/limited HE ammunition are every ships that can overmatch 19mm of armor so they *MUST* rely on hitting overmatch part of armor to damage it ( this probably ruin BB player but of course those retard backline spamming HE to the top of scoreboard deserve it )
If I am to fix HE I would say limited the HE rounds per game. It might be you can shoot HE for 5 minute straight before this type of ammunition run out. What does this mean is for example République has 24 second reload and for 5 minute it has 300 second so its 12.5 per turret and she has 2 turrets mean she can shoot 25 times before you are foreced to use AP for the rest of the game ( Damn that's still a lot of HE ). But with legmod she has 19.68 second reload. Doing the same math she can shoot 30 times in total
For torpedo damage reduction is probably not working in *RANDOM* which you don't know early on before pressing battle if there would be just one or everyone that carry torpedo. Rendering torpedo armament useless if MM packing let say 10 torpedo-carry ships on a team

Torpedoboats are already pretty bad overall. I'm sorry to say this, but if you struggle against them then it's 100% a skill issue.

The Secondaries will do just fine against DDs. That line about be bad against DDs is bullshit. I mean the 5"/38 on Mass/Georgia have some of the shittiest ballistics in the game but open watering against these in secondary range is rough in a DD. Don't see why this line with the same accuracy would be at all different.

Sorry guys we give you a BB with 15km Secondary range with damage instructions instead......🤣🤣🤣🤣 All i can see as a use case is sneaking up on someone, until the secondaries do the talking. Visibility and Range match.
I don’t play the PC version, I’m playing on a phone “Blitz.” The meta is still long range at t10, but the inclusion of allowing you to manually aim secondaries has made it so secondary ships are more than viable. Maybe they should add manual secondary aiming on gun calibers 150mm and up to the PC version. It would make brawling damage output WAY better
