    I just thought of this... you should do a test to see which pen writes well on top of correction tape. I use a lot of correction tape and hate when pens scratch it off when I write over it. Just a thought! 🤓

    • @1Letter23Numbers.
      @1Letter23Numbers. Před 4 lety +4

      Hi, I balance my budget in pen because I like to color code and use correction tape on mistakes. I use a pilot muliclick pen in 0.4 and have no issues with scratching or smearing. I think the small point makes for a less wet layer of ink being put down that in turn dries quickly, but its wet enough not to scratch. I also use uniball black tone pens I got on amazon with no issue. The colors are blue black, brown black, green black, etc. I hope this helps.

    Le Pen is my favorite ever. One of the reasons is that they have a yellow that is legible when you write with it. It's in the retro pack only available on their website. Also you can buy the colors individually. There's nothing worse than buying a huge pack of pens and not being able to replace your favorite colors. I buy black ones in bulk.

  • @hielandcoo45
    @hielandcoo45 Před 5 lety +19

    Regarding the Arteza pens and the fact that their lids don't match the actual pen colour. I have found that an easy fix for this is some small white stickers. I colour them in and stick them on the pen, it then really easy to see the exact colour.

    My favorites are the Staedtlers so I'm glad they did well; I don't like how rough the Stabilo's are. And the Papermate Flairs are fun too. Thanks for sharing! Esp. if they are highlighter friendly. Good info!

    Just the video I never knew I needed. love it, so helpful. Staedter Triplus Fineliners are suprisingly amazing. I found a few of mine old ones from years ago ( maybe 4-5? ) and they still work.

  • @lifewithgoodintentions8514

    Great review! Thanks for pointing out which ones were highlighters safe. I hadn't really given it much thought but it is good info to have. Paper Mate Flair medium tip has been my go-to cuz I like the fact that it's not a real real fine point. But I do like the color selection better for Stadtlers.

    I thought this was SO helpful. I'm also very heavy handed when I write and I don't necessarily have the most 'correct' grip when I write. I find with pens that have a thinner barrel (the Bis intentisty and the Stabilo 88 are big offenders for me here) the pen isn't chunky enough for me to write without getting hand cramp pretty quickly. Love the flairs though, have ordered some today!

    Late i know but a 12pk of staedler pens lasted me through several years of college notetaking, and some of the colors still work. A couple of the tips have gotten worn down but that happens when you use things, and anyways they just make a more bold line now instead of a super fine one.

  • @stompingliger
    @stompingliger Před 6 lety +1

    Here in Northern Europe, you can easily buy Staedtlers and Stabilos. Also Bics are available. I had never heard of Papermate before I started watching planning videos last year. My favorite 0.4 colorful fineliner is Faber-Castell’s Grip Finepens. They have a triangle-shaped barrel but it’s much fatter than Staedtler’s and therefor much more comfortable.

    Fantastic report, Cindy! I'm sorry to hear the Sharpie pens did so poorly but am definitely going to take another look at the Staedtlers. For some reason I was convinced they are more expensive but that may be because I initially was sampling individual pens at my local art supply store.

    Staedtler and Stabilo are by german companys, they are both very available in Europe. The store brands are naturally not or hard to get here. Evrything else like the zebras etc are available online or sometimes if you're lucky in a good pen/ crafts store.

  • @1Letter23Numbers.
    @1Letter23Numbers. Před 4 lety

    I love papermate flairs and stadtler fineliners, but hate that there are no names or numbers on the pens themselves. I found the names for the papermates and wrote them on a strip of label sticker and secured it on the pen with tape. The stadtler are just numbered so I still get a sample of the color to see what I want to use and helps with color coding.
    Thanks for the video!

    Still feel like I’m at a sporting event cheering on my Papermate Flair medium tips and Staedtlers, who coincidentally scored very well! I find the Staedtlers fairly comfortably for how I hold a pen but I have only briefly tested them so far. I have a 36 pack coming this week though so here’s hoping I still like them! Thanks for this round up and the spreadsheet, very informative! And I second the person who said next Thunderdome should be brush pens!

    Thank you for your review! I agree on Staedtlers. They seem the perfect pen for me. I also hace some stabilo pens. The colours are brilliant, but I hated that I need to hold those vertically to write. This doesn't happen to staedtlers though. Or maybe I am also heavy handed. Stabilos only last a couple of months for me, when I use them for work. I loved Papermate flair M from your review but it turned out they are not sold in Russia.
    I also use maped graph peps and faber castell finepens. Are they sold in US too? I like the faber castell ones as they totally match the colours of faber castell felt tip pens pack.

    I've been using Stabilos for well over 25 years, Staedtler fineliners
    for over 10. Both are solid picks for drawing and writing purposes even
    though they're not all that colorfast. To be fair, most of the ones here
    aren't colorfast either, but Stabilos and Staedtlers do have a really
    good range of colors and as long as they aren't subjected to air and
    light, the colors will last a long time.

    Pilot V is not readily available in Brazil. In fact, never heard of it. Artists Loft and the other one from Michael's I think, I've heard of, but not easily accessible as well. But all the others we can buy, even if it's on JetPens or others stores like it. The most usual are definitely the Stabilo and the Staedtler. Papermate Flair is a bit more difficult, but we can find here. Both the UF and the Medium. Arteza only importing as well, but I do know about them.

    I love the le pens but I'm currently in a hobonichi weeks. For some reason the black le pen changes color on the backside of my writing and bleeds through the page over time. It looks black when I write but turns green on the back of the page. None of the other colors of le pens do this. So weird. I'm currently using a tombow mono drawing pen and it works great with the tomoe river paper. Oh and I also LOVE papermate flairs and staedtlers.

I have a child in my home and don't want to have to censor a coloring pen review video because of foul language. Everyone has their right to do whatever, not saying anything about that, just saying a coloring marker review (which I was really looking forward to watching) might not be the best type of video to drop F bombs. :-)

    But in case of durability, if you push the Staedtler hard the nib bends and its shape changes. My favorite one is Stabilo. But since Arteza has the most variety of colors, do you think it's logical to buy 120 pack of it instead of 50 pack of Stabilo?
