Friend of mine used to have a Global Express, has now changed to a BBJ !

The newer Global jets are faster and can fly higher than a BBJ. Only reason for a BBJ is if you have a lot of people or cargo to haul. Or flying over 400 hours a year.

The G650 is an old plane with an old yoke cockpit , either you go for the more modern and cheaper G600 or the new the G700 if you need the range.

These jets are basically for medium to long range services. I came from Asia and long range means at least 8,9000 miles . For that kind of distance , non stop, airline still have the edge Jets are for flying around N. America and maybe Europe in short and predictable schedules only. To deal with distances in Asia, airline first class is still far cheaper. Further more, for the last 3/4 century, all civilian jets are still struggling with the "sound barrier", the fastest record holder just beat the next runner up by maybe 3 kts. Something a guy who paid $80 million for a Gulfstream prefer not to know.
