Suppose one dies at the age of say 45-50 years of age will his lifelong savings hard earned money will be taken away as 55% inheritance tax , what will happen to the education of his children and marriage of of his daughters? And if his old retired father mother are staying with him who will take care of them? 55% tax gone as inheritance she will be left with very little money after his death.will the govt. pay for the survival after he dies? Has any body suggested of the fate after the death of the earning member of the family after 55% of all his saving will be taken away by the govt. as inheritance tax. There are top 1% of population which has got wealth disproportionate to their intellectual or physical labour. Therefore, that disproportinate wealth has to be redistributed. That disproportionate wealth is actually is produced by others not the holdets of it.
But who said they are going to restrict the policy only to top 1%? They could easily make it applicable to all people paying the highest tax bracket.
Eventually middle class people will suffer and ministers will become richer because top 1% are not just wealthy but also Influential people and will fill pocket of ministers to avoid giving portion of inheritance to govt.
And who are you to decide that they have disproportionate wealth? As long as its honestly made, nobody can even touch it
