People overuse the word underrated.Every metalhead I knew loved them.Just because they're not the big 4 or whatever doesn't mean there not liked by most in the metal world \m/
Man, I loved those first two Forbidden albums. I remember being kinda bummed when I bought 'Twisted' and saw Glen was gone, but then I heard Parting of the Ways/Infinite and Tim's playing (RIP) absolutely loved his style and loved the album from beginning to end. Tim and Craig were amazing together. An all-time favorite album. Trapped was super cool too, My Sorrows My Own was killer.
Craig was at bay strikes back last year in Sacramento, I was in line talking to Walter. Craig came up to say hi to him, I noticed how tall he is in person.
The 1st time I saw Forbidden was at Sundance in Bayshore, NY on Long Island opening for Sacred Reich in August of 1989! Crazy show! I also saw Forbidden open for Death Angel at the same club in the summer of 1990. \m/
This is excellent news. 15 years ago I flew to San Francisco to see Forbidden with Death Angel for 2 nights since the reunion was new and I wasn't sure if they were going to stick around and make it up to Seattle at some point, and it was outstanding. Luckily not only did they make it up to Seattle twice but my old band got to open for them both times. The band was awesome and very kind to us fanboys. Norman Skinner has been great with Imagika so he should fit right in, and Kontos is a monster drummer, add in Steve Smyth and this is a great lineup. Welcome back Forbidden!
Dude this is awesome! Can't wait. Smyth on board again is perfect he blew my face off doing a dual solo for Nevermore live. You guys were great together in Florida too. Everything in E is great
Always really liked Smyth's solo towards the end of 'Final Product'. Side note, the reason I even got into Nevermore was because I'd heard Tim Calvert had joined a band and they'd just released 'Dreaming Neon Black' such a great album.
That was an awesome interview!! Congratulations Craig, on all the new success with Forbidden. This is your time Man! Always one of our favorite bands. Haha- loved the El Duce reference. He Was one of our Mentors. Lol. Thank God we lived through the tour!! Though Offstage he was one of the nicest, kindest people we knew. And We are huge fans of Everything you do Zetro! You absolutely Killed it with AC/DZ on Saturday, The Toxic Vault, is without a doubt, the Best show of its kind. And don’t get me started about Exodus!!! Around our house Metal Mt. Rushmore is carved with DEATH ANGEL EXODUS, FORBIDDEN, & TESTAMENT!!!!!
What a welcome surprise on The Vault today!! 🍻 & welcome back FORBIDDEN! Love to see you guy's at the clubs & theaters playing PRECIOUS E MINOR HEAVY DEATH METAL!!🖤⚡️💣💥sign me up for that! Thanks Steve & Craig for a most awesome episode of The Vault today! 🖤 The Stieghorst's 👋🤘💀🤘🦋🖤🦋🪄🔮
This is absolutely Killer news!!! Twisted Into Form is still one of my fav albums that I spin often and Omega Wave was an awesome underrated album! \m/ I even gave Distortion a spin the other day without knowing this!
Dude I knew something was up when the Instagram account came out of no where. But regardless, if Russ is in or out, if Craig stands by this new guy, I'm just happy as fuck that Forrbiden will be back!!
Some of the best of my memories. Growing up in East Bay Area. retired now. Life moves North. I still have my copy of the 'Legacy' demo. on Cassette. Analog. Old Skool.
I've seen forbidden many many times throughout the years, even through the years when you couldn't really give thrash-metal away in the 90s... They were out there beating the bricks in support of their Green album, on tour with Malevolent creation and they were amazing every night. I would welcome any return of forbidden and would trust Craig's instinct to put together a lineup that would utterly Crush. This was a great great episode
been looking forward to a new forbidden album for 10 years, haha. would be nice to see them, but i live in a flyover state in australia so doubt that will happen. i'll jst thrash out the new album instead, cant wait!!!!
Norman said nothing of this at Exmortus last night. I would have been even more stoked to see him knowing that Forbidden would be back. I think he is capable of filling Russ's shoes.
I’ve known Craig since 1983. I was his first friend in high school when he came from Las Vegas. His mom was a sweet lady his stepdad Al was alright dude. He used to to live across the street from Maloney school where we use to party at. I remember when he first went to talk to Rob Flynn. This is a trip. Hey Craig I’m happy for you and Matt. Let’s go hang out on Eggers sometime.
Side note, I was in a progressive death metal band called Pax Mortis, but played several shows with forbidden back in the aforementioned 90s and I have to say that they were some of the most accommodating professional dudes you ever want to book a show with. They were trying to find their footing here and there in the face of a music style that had commonality with what they did but you know... The vocals were a whole different world. They were always helpful with advice and told great stories that. I had a lot of fun with those dudes. I remember not playing a show but pissing off the Foresthill Bridge drunkenly with Tim and one of the cats from Lazz Rockiit... just laughing until my stomach was sore and I think I purged all the Denny's late-night chili it had along with a bunch of booze. I have found so many of the dudes from that seen to be such good-natured down-to-earth people and even on bad days they seemed pretty cool. I doubt Craig will remember our rather spun conversation the evening dark angel came to town and everyone ended up back at the forbidden house forbidden pad dr. But his insight into the business as he saw it then was truly inspirational for me as a younger musician musician trying to find my own way in a scene that was only then beginning to Blossom. Never had a chance to thank him, but I will most definitely come see forbidden once again. Cheers.
I didn't know someone like Steve Zetro Souza had a yt podcast, now we're talking charisma on another level. I'll have to check the episode list, fuckin psyched for this! \m/
That first Forbidden Album is the best musicianship in the thrash scene and It's Up there in Metal as a whole I reckon. I will always be blown away by that Stuff. Hails. 🤘😎🤘 Exodus is My Favourite Band Though.
Craig is a shredding guitar player. I had a chance to meet him back in 90s on the "twiste to form" tour. i was the guitar tech for a band called Atheist..
Can't wait! Forbidden definately was/is one of my favorite bands. @Craig, I know all of you have grown as musicians and you want to progress as a band. And it's your band, and it will go in the direction you decide. All respect there - and no discussion (I'll buy the new album anyway). But I would love, love, love to hear new songs in the vein of the old Forbidden.
Awesome that Forbidden's back! I love the first 2 Forbidden albums and Omega Wave is awesome too. I know Russ is retired from music so if they were ever going to get back together it would probably have to be with a new singer and Norman is great.
It's goin to be different without a vocalist like Russ. He was an exceptional one and I really hope he returns at a point. Having said that, I still believe that Forbidden can deliver a decent Thrash Metal album.
I just ❤ thrash. All these bands I grew up with still going and coming back…the Bay Strikes Back tour last year…thrash fans might grow old but we have the coolest fucking soundtracks to our lives 🤘🏻🍻🤘🏻
Killer news Forbidden is a band so fantastic ! When it cames out, i remember myself listening Twisted in forms everyday with no désire at all to put any other of my records on my player ❤❤❤❤ Please plan à gig in Paris or at Hellfest open air 2024 🤘
So glad I got see Forbidden & Death Angel in 1990 at Chuck Landis' Country Club in Reseda. Also almost had a heart attack in the pit moshing to Exodus' Toxic Waltz last year at the Majestic Theater. Good times🤣
For me i was devastated when my all time favorite band Exodus disbanded after Force Of Habit and were gone for like 11 years i never thought they would come back.......but they did!! with a fucking Vengeance!! and never looked back i been happy as shit ever since! Gary Holt is my all time favorite guitarist ever!!

I’m ready for some new Forbidden! Definitely on thee Mount Rushmore of thrash. Craig doesn’t work with slouches so if the lineup is approved by him it’s going to be top notch. “Let him who hath understanding reckon…”
Saw Forbidden way back in the day at The Omni And also saw them open up for Overkill on the omega tour cycle and both times They were great Look forward to seeing the new version Best of luck
Forbidden was sooo underrated. Those first two albums are brilliant
Don't forget Distortion freaking KILLER album!
Omega Wave is nearly as good as the first two. An amazing comeback.
Distortion is also a fantastic record as well ...
