  • My girls love their learning binders! They have so much fun with the velcro and dry erase markers too! I hope this video gives you some ideas if you are planning on making one (or two) yourself. I originally made Kayleigh two preschool binders last year. One was all dry erase, and the other was velcro pages. Do you have a favorite website to find free printables? If you do, please share in the comments! 🤍

    Great ideas, I love that your 4 year old is in 1 grade. My son recently turn 5 but is doing 1 grade work in kindergarten. He was doing kindergarten work at preschool. I was not aware you could move them being that young to 1 grade. Thank you

      Thank you! 🤍 Yes, that's what's great about homeschooling! We can work on their level and pace. ☺️ I'm pretty sure public school only places them by their birthday.

    Thank you so much for referring me here! Did you always know you wanted to to homeschooling? Ever worry about being patient enough?

    • @lauren.homeschool
      @lauren.homeschool  Před 10 měsíci

      Of course! I talk about this a little bit in my Why I Homeschool video.
      Why I Homeschool

      I didn’t always know, but as soon as I started I never looked back!
      Patience is hard for me in general. When it comes to homeschooling, I think I have become more patient though! I haven’t thought about it until you asked, and I’m glad you did. I just surprised myself that I have really become more patient! 😆

    What great ideas! New homeschooling mom here! Love your channel! What is the link for the sorting by color page?

      Thank you so much and welcome!! If it's the one that just says colors at the top with the circles is preschoolmom dot com. I have a list of a lot of websites in the description too! I hope that helps! 😊💗

    How do you laminate them so perfect? Do you have a video?

    • @lauren.homeschool
      @lauren.homeschool  Před rokem

      Aww, thank you! I don’t have a specific video for laminating. I just push the paper against the bottom, pre-sealed edge and make sure it’s even on the sides. Smaller pieces I cut first, lay them on the laminating sheet with space around them, and cut again after laminating. This way the edges don’t peel up! Patience and move slowly are my tips! 😊🤍

    What do you use to help the stuff stick?

    • @lauren.homeschool
      @lauren.homeschool  Před rokem

      I used small Velcro dots! The ones I used are linked in the description. (Larger ones can be too difficult for littles to pull apart.) ❤️

    Great work, is the sheets A4?

  • @865Picker
    @865Picker Před 2 lety +1

    I have tried every Velcro there is and I cannot get them to continue to stick once the picture is on the sheet and they try to peel it off one of the Velcro’s will always pull off. Any suggestions? I’ve even tried to use a glue gun.

    • @lauren.homeschool
      @lauren.homeschool  Před 2 lety

      I’m not sure, but I haven’t had a problem with it not sticking! Possibly the sheet protector if you only tried one of those but tried different Velcro? The type I used are linked in the description 💗

    Thank you so much for sharing this! I am having fun putting one together for my daughters. Question- how did you get the circles from the colors page without the color labels? The document I found just has a labeled option. Did you make your own somehow? I would appreciate any guidance! Thank you!

    • @lauren.homeschool
      @lauren.homeschool  Před 2 lety

      Of course! I’m glad it was helpful! Yes, I just saved the original one with the color names and used the markup tool on my phone to basically erase the word. I used the dropper tool to select the color so it was the exact same. I hope that makes sense! 😊

    How did you make their name pages in the front of the books?

    • @lauren.homeschool
      @lauren.homeschool  Před 22 dny +1

      Hi! The pages they used to trace their names… I don’t have them saved anymore so I don’t know the exact sizing. I just typed it up in a new document in Pages or Canva. I used a large size font with a border around the letters and set fill color to none. So that left the border only and I spaced it out so it was large but all fit on one page. I believe the font name is called Chalkboard. It doesn’t have a “fancy letter a” 😆
      The cover pages I did the same thing, but used a different fill color and border color.
      The cover page with the pencils is a paid download for the Daily Learning Notebook activity pages from Confessions of a Homeschooler.
      Hope that helps! 🩷

      Thank you for this. When your girls trace on the laminated sheets does it leave color smear? When my daughter does it leaves smear after one use

    I have a question about you learning binders. Do you go through all of it in one sitting or do you pick a few pages a day? What are your recommendations?

    • @lauren.homeschool
      @lauren.homeschool  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi! I just picked a couple pages to work on! We didn’t go through the whole binder and didn’t even use it daily. It’s just a supplement and we used it for extra practice. I recommend picking pages that your child needs to review or practice. Depending on which binder.. all at once would probably be overwhelming. Hope that helps 😊

    4 in first grade? Wait, I don't understand, is this in a foreign country with different grades system

    • @lauren.homeschool
      @lauren.homeschool  Před rokem

      Yes, she was 4.5 years old to 5.5 years old in "first grade" so she is "ahead" for her age.
