You might want to add as a clifnote, the HD560s =HD400pro. -$50 and minus extra cable. Sennheiser confirmed this on a forum.

Bought a pair of HD 400 Pro headphones recently. I use them for mixing and mastering. I have no complaints. Excellent transparent sound. Very comfortable. May not be as tough as the more expensive Sennheiser headphones but at the price hard to beat.

Lmao, so many clueless reviewers have no idea that ALL sennheiser headphones have metal-reinforced headbands, it's just that some of them, like the HD400Pro (Which are a rebranded HD 560S btw, techup.) just have that metal band, encased inside the plastic bands. :P
This is a pretty good indicator to me that you don't have much experience with Sennheiser headphones, and that you've only, ever handled the "audiophile's recommendations" rather than actually explored headphones, or the brand itself, by yourself... The 600 line are old OLD headphone design, which is why the metal bands are bare, the new ones still have metal bands, but they're encased in plastic, to maintain the same durability, but INCREASE FLEXIBILITY. You can twist the new headphone design quite a bit, and the headphone will always return to its original shape... Something the 600 line headphones can't do, as once you bend the metal bands, that's GG for that headphone. :P
Basically, the new modern design, can actually handle a bit of physical abuse.
I used a Sennheiser Game One gaming headset for 6 years, i dropped it on the floor A LOT over those 6 years, like several times per week, there is nothing wrong with the headband, it was still fully functional when i replaced it, so i gave it to a younger family member to use, and they've been using it for 4 years now... That headset is 10 years old, and still kicking ass... You think that would be possible if the headband was 100% pure plastic?! You're fking stupid, you can even SEE where the metal band insert is, if you look closely at them, on the underside of the band.
I guess taking a good visual look at headphones before you review them is too much for a reviewer like you? :P

lol yeah, also the 5_series being a single sided entry wire, they had to route the wire and hide it inside plastic, as opposed to the dual entry on the 6_series.
i honestly find the 5_series much more comfortable than the overpriced 6 range!!

so glad I found these at a guitar center. was gonna get a pair of 380s, but they didn't have any despite having a display set, turns out they had a pair of these sitting behind the counter. what's even better, it comes with a lighter cable so it's not pulling down all the time like with my 280s.

I own both the HD 650 and HD 560 S (same as 400 Pro) and they are both wonderful headphones and excel in different areas. The soundstage is wider on the 560 S and it has a flatter response curve, but the peak in treble can become fatiguing on the 560 S whereas I don't have that issue with the 650. It basically comes down to what your preferences and needs are. For instance, one use case is if you prioritize gaming first and everything else (music, movies) second. The 560 S is the way to go. If you want an all-rounder, warmer sounding headphone that does everything well with the added benefit of holding its own in gaming, the 650 is the better option. But again, you can't go wrong with either. I love both and have no plans of getting rid of either set of headphones.

Are you a musician mixer? Would love to hear online audio of HD560s compared to the hd600

"If you want an all-rounder, warmer sounding headphone that does everything well"
Full disclosure, "warmer" implies "more bass", which wont fix the peak in the treble. xD
"Darker" would tame the treble though.
Just a bit of semantics, most people probably understood what you meant.

You mentioned the 560s, so why not compare those too, so we can see they are equivalent to the 400 pros as claimed?

Some one needs to do the comparison of the 400 pros and 560s why hasn’t anyone done it yet?

Thanks for the great review! I had hd600 in mind but after this video, I might go for the hd400 pro. The same (or slightly better) sound quality, less impedance, light and comfortable, detachable cable, and more affordable. I only wish the build quality was better. I tried them on a while ago and they sound amazing but feel cheap and not durable.

Have you heard the HD 560s? Does the HD 400 Pro have more sub bass, bass or mid bass frequencies than the 560s?
Thank you very much for the comparative review. It looks great!

Unfortunately Adriano I haven’t, but I’ve seen many ask that as well when the hd400 pros first came out. It would’ve been great if I tested them out and added them into this video since they look very similar to the 400 pros. I personally would look into some forums to see what you could find to answer those frequency questions.

Differences will be tiny due to unit variances. Get the HD 400 Pro if you want another HD 560s with better cables and don't mind paying the extra $50.

    • @MyouKyuubi

The 400pro is the 560S rebranded for professional use. :P
They're the same headphone, only difference is the 400 pro comes with an extra cable.

I'm wondering how the HD 400 Pro compares to the HD 560S? From what I gather, they seem very similar. I might need some help finding a side-by-side comparison video if anyone has seen one.

i tried the hd400 Pro ......... not same league with hd600 or hd650 guys. I returned them. I love my hd600. The hd400 has something not naturel in the sound and my mix was really not ok with them. I have better mix with hd600 or my sony 7506. if question tell me ;)

      @ST-fl5fy Před rokem

When do you use the 7506 over the 600. I have the Sonys. I imagine the 600’s might sound too warm?

@@T3CHUP I was listening to your video on my Sennheiser HD400 Pro and it was unbearable. I switched over to my nearfield studio monitors and confirmed the sibilance peak. But good content overall. Keep up the good work.
