* Important note: the euro - USD conversion during our trip was very favorable.
We made our purchases between February 9th - 11th 2020 and here is when we received our refunds:

Ahh this is amazing! So smart to have bought all your designer bags when in Paris. That's exactly what I did and omg the amount you save in import duties and tax is insane! People think its a lot to buy in one go, but honestly, if you have patience and save for when you are able to buy in the EU it is worth the wait!! The experience is also such a dream.
I agree, even if you don’t get back the Vat you still save from the up charge of import taxes
Basically you can save 20% when you buy from Europe, make sure when you buy from the shop give passport and register for receipt

Tax refund was the great things when I bought my first Louis Vuitton at Paris, almost missed the flight too.
I have never seen the Givenchy bum bag before. It's actually so cute!!
The small flap is more common in Europe and harder to get in the US. The most common size is the medium flap, so congrats on being able to get the small!
Is the medium most common in the USA or Europe or both?

Thanks for sharing your Paris haul! At least we can all reminisce for the meantime when international travel was still possible 🙃. I’ve also learned to save my bag purchases to when I travel to take advantage of the huge savings, even though it’s a bit stressful to go through the refund and customs process each time. You might save more buying now in the country as the next rumoured price increase is this month... A lot of bloggers and personal shoppers have already announced there is a price increase coming this fall 😭

Love all your bags!! I went to Paris 12/2019, and purchased my first Chanel bag, saved about $500. Every airport must be different or it depends on the customs agent, we had to pay duties. So happy you didn’t have to! Enjoy your items!

Great video and very informative since I am planning to do the same thing. I was going in Jan 2021 for my 40th birthday but now I have to push that date back. So you have me all hype now. Was it that much of a difference though from the purchase price there from here? You don't have to say but what were the general savings before VAT discounts. I have a sizable amount I am planning to spend and I prepping.

Avoid JFK airport in NYC if you don't want to pay customs tax. They are notorious for having long lines too.

Can you do an update on the Goyard tote for wear and tear? There were a lot of experienxes regarding the straps cracking/ripping.

Can you please confirm the VAT discount (%)? I thought it was closer to 30% with all my purchases in the past but you mentioned only 12%?
VAT is 20% ... it is already added on to the items you have purchased as everything is vat inclusive. However, when you get back the vat refund you will only get back 12% of the vat not 20% . This is because the companies that prepare the vat refund will take 8% as their fees for preparing the exchange.
In the UK, it varies from 12-18%.
