I thought the same thing. I know that there are bad drivers causing accidents but the victims have horrible reaction time. I drive almost everyday and encounter these bad drivers often and no accidents since 5 years ago when I got my drivers license.

Will seemed to be going rather fast. If he was spatially aware of his surroundings he would have been slowing for the upcoming yellow light and avoided the minivan altogether.

I actively counted at least 4 seconds to notice the car pulling out, he had more than enough chances and just didn't do it so he would get on this channel.
No time to stop? Right haha, I swear some of these drivers either never look ahead of them or just want to run into others with clear time to slow down to avoid an accident just to get time off work, esp with number 3, the driver did a U-Turn in front of the camera car with like a car and a half distance and they managed to stop in time.

@@silversonic99 um... it said he lost traction. where did it say his brakes locked up? Then, I thought only truckers lose their brake when it is overheated going downhill. Last, if your brake locked up the tyres, you still slow down. It just takes longer. We saw no sign of slowing down before the impact.

Totaled doesn't mean the insurance company doesn't want to fix it. It means the cost to fix it is more than the car is worth.
Insurance company doesn't want to pay $6 for a car worth $5. Therefore it is totalled
yep, I'm currently driving a 2008 prius that is "salvage" literally nothing wrong with the car except the bumper isn't 100% perfect.
Insurance companies will total cars out for various reasons. They factor in the time it would take to complete a repair, availability of parts, cost of a rental car, etc when evaluating a claim. Often times the cost to repair the car (especially if you were using used parts or doing the work yourself) is less than the value of the car, but the insurance will still total it because it is easier to pay out to the customer and sell the car at auction so someone else can repair it or part it out.
not always, My first car cost $6000 and I needed $3000 worth of repairs once because my hood got damaged and the insurance totaled my car.
@@awakenedone7577 What you paid for the car and the current value of the car are two different things. I drive a 1996 Buick that honestly if I were to sell I'd probably want around $6k just due to the work I personally have put into making sure it's still a perfectly reliable vehicle, but my insurance company would probably place the value of the car somewhere around $2k.

Ole Chris was halfway merged into the lane on the right when he noticed the f150 passing on the left. Chris made the decision to stop merging toward the right and return to the lane he was leaving. Granted the f150 was wrong but Chris made the conscious decision to hit the f150. Ole Chris would definitely lose a personal case if the f150 driver decided to come after him. That dash cam footage proves Chris made the choice to return to a lane he was departing. He returned only to crowd the f150. Cut n dry. Chris is done. Lol
I seen that 2 Chris thought he owned the passing lane and the middle lane he wasn't making the situation better
And there was no reason to take that long to get out of the passing lane. Chris is a bad driver and 100% made sure there was an incident.

For the second clip, flying f-150, the airbags didn't deploy because the seatbelt wasn't fastened.
I could see that as possibility for the passenger seat, but why would it be that way for the driver? If the ignition on, it is unlikely no one will be there.
That cannot be right. Airbags were initially mandated because too many failed to fasten seatbelts. More likely that the impact was not so severe to trigger the bags.
Exactly. The fact that his face hit the steering wheel indicates that he wasn't wearing his seat belt. In the past, US airbags were different from the rest of the world because US drivers couldn't bothered to wear their seat belt. But this approach is inefficient and actually very dangerous. They're explosive devices and can be really harmful if you're not properly restrained. Not to mention that the belt will do most of the deceleration so the airbag can just get the extra mile.

10:00: NO, "Totaled" means the cost to repair is more than the coverage purchased or value of the car depending on laws of the location. The insurance company does not care whether to replace or fix, they only care about the money.
The fact that you can sell a very decent car with a few year's depreciation on it for less than a professionally replaced rear fender and lights is the crazy fact in that story.
9:57 - Another driver once hit me from the back while I was stopped behind another vehicle making a turn. My car was technically totalled (but far more than a dent), but still driveable. I arranged with the other person's insurance company to purchase it back for the salvage value, and they just deducted that amount from the settlement check. That kept me on the road without extra expense until I could find another vehicle.

I've never had an issue with driving all seasons in the winter. The key to winter driving is to drive very slowly and not drive faster than conditions allow.
Where I live, I doubt anyone switches out. Of course, one can typically count the number of days we have each year with freezing precipitation on one hand.

#9. Does it really matters if you slow down or not at a stop sign? It is still illegal because at a stop sign you should STOP! So, both cars did it wrong.

#19: If you were wearing your seat belt, your head would not hit the steering wheel. Airbags don't go off if no seat belt is worn, but the damage on the front end didn't look severe enough for the airbags to inflate anyhow.
As an FYI, White is no longer the free Tesla color. Sometime back in early 2023 (I think), they changed it to the dark Grey color.

Ya'know. Both times you've said "giving them no chance to stop", they absolutely had the chance and wasn't paying attention...Both those accidents could've been avoided if the cammer was paying any attention, but no, they just keep driving as if nothing is happening while the other vehicles pull out practically in slow motion...all the time in the world to react, both times was from 200-300 feet down the road.
I got my dash cam this week but I havent had a chance to install it. I would have com in handy yesterday when a giant dust devil crossed in front of me.

CAT A and CAT B 'totaled' cars can't be repaired (CAT B can be used for parts only).
CAT S has had structural damage but can be repaired and put back on the road.
CAT N has had non structural damage (fender, bumper, lights etc.) and can be repaired and put back on the road.

PSA if you ever stop for turtle crossing, move it in the direction it's going because they will turn around and try to cross the road again if you turned it around. Oh and do learn what a snapping turtle look like if they are around, they bite!
Totaled car does not mean that the insurance company doesn’t want to fix it. It means the value of the vehicle, and what it would take to fix the vehicle, not taking into account any possible additional damage that was not located on the first estimate, are too close in value. The insurance company totals the vehicle because it is not worth fixing just to end up paying more than the value of the vehicle if additional damage is found. Most likely, due to the age and condition of the vehicle, in addition to the amount of miles on the vehicle, it was not worth fixing.
I remember a woman rear ending me in a school parking lot pick up line. My car was parked and turned off at the time but she tried to say that I backed into her, despite her hitting me hard enough to push me forward towards the car in front of me 🤦🏻♂️ people will try any excuse

Well, the Flying F-150 is smarter than the driver. Airbags didn't deploy because the impact wasn't great enough, the driver was not wearing his seatbelt though, which allowed his face to meet the steering wheel. Good thing that SRS didn't explode in his face...
