I would still recommend getting involved in local politics as it is a good stepping stepping stone for greater things. For example, something as benign as getting involved in church can help out your cause greatly, you can control how the money is spent and influence what is taught in the conformation, or whatever equivalent programme you have.
You can't just join a church and start having an influence of how they do things. That's for the church elders to decide, who all have an entire lifetime of dedication to Christ. Plus, the local church is part of a denomination and answers to the national and international organization, so even the elders aren't free to do whatever they want.

They sent their newly trained Boomer contingent into society to collapse it from the inside out. You have to subvert everything from top to bottom. It took them decades, but it’s achievable.

We face doing it as a century old idea, with no elite support, in a system that is openly hostile. The pre-existing elites back then had already given up governance for decades already by then which was why it could be done. But the main issue is we don't even have a dissident counter elite or a hint at organising what potential of it there is that could subvert things to begin with.
I usually rag on you AA for being too into drama. I thought this was an excellent video, perfectly summarizing your case the dispute, and not going into the dredges. I've liked some stuff Stained Haines has but, but without question he's a theatre kids and always looking to start aggravate drama.
My advice is, do some writing. Quit thinking off the top of your head, and go deeper. Photos do a really good job capturing what we see. A microphone does a really good job of capturing how we sound. Writing does a great job of capturing what we think.

You are correct that he is assuming that the system will work as intended and 'activism' will somehow influence decision makers rather than being either ignored or actively quashed by the powers that be.
