thats because those eagles are Apex Predators, they fear nothing, and there is nothing who can theat the chicks exept for people of maybe other eagles, but because their territories are so large, encounters with another family are rare

Here in Panama Biologist Love them so I think all the Harpy eagles babies are used to babysitter and doctors visiting their nest once in a while....
This footage was later found at the nest of a female harpy eagle that also had fresh but crushed skulls and ribs in it along with a shoe.

@@aarongonzalez4458 no, but I can only wonder. The Harpy Eagle is one of the largest eagles, it can even reach half a man's size, and its talons are very strong, so it's actually pretty scary to even be near its nest

Bird moms can be very violent and protective, I've seen little birds fighting with other birds because of that, strangers are not allowed at all at their nests not even near, honestly I think these men were really lucky that the mom didn't attack them, just look how she stares at them like "Ok humans I'll give you 5 seconds to leave my home or otherwise you all will regret it!". Such a beautiful creature and she deserves all the respect ❤

People dont know that but Harpy eagles are very gentle to be an Eagle If the mother was really interested in attack they probably will be in serious shit haha I speak by personal experience I Live in Panama my backyard is nearby a nest and we play under the tree, the mother is actually calm other birds are hella territorial when they have babies, sometimes we let them chickens so they can eat properly :)
