Here in the northern Utah we call this season Sprinter.

We used to use the bulbs, but moved to those ceramic reptile heaters. No glass bulb or filament to break, still makes 100watts of heat.

We were so thankful to be heading to Oklahoma after that storm passed through. Well, we didn't quite get away with it LOL Maggie was having so much fun in the snow but it is all gone now, not even a full week later. :( Its warm and sunny now so we are definitely thankful for that. Yup---welcome to SD...we've seen snow in the Black Hills as late as Memorial Day..tho nothing quite as bad as this storm.

I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB for 6 years and every one of those years during the first week of April we would get a serious snow storm. Never failed. I’m surprised you can fly the drone being that close to the AFB and the Rapid City Regional airport.

we live in Rapid and went by your spot yesterday, I do believe I finally convinced my husband to get an hdt...if it takes as long to find one as it did our 5r, its gonna be a long road...lol...your build for the smart deck is the best video I've seen on youtube

@@JonesN2Travel thanks, for the heads up on the volvo on mall dr. Sending husband and grandkid over to check out next week. For that particular year/mileage, etc, is priced high...we'll be snow birds. So our needs are different...but never hurts to look
I just looked it up on line and $30k is a bit high with 856K miles. I would probably pass on that one unless I could get them down to about 20k LOL. Unless its had a documented in frame rebuild or something. I was very interested in a truck they had there last year but it too had high mileage and was kind of rough on the inside so I passed. Best of luck in your search. it doesn't sound like you are in a huge hurry which is great. Too many good deals out there to rush into it. :) Safe Travels
@@JonesN2Travel no we're not in a huge hurry and at 20k I would consider it. Place in Hartford SD had 7 of the 670's same mileage, fleet owned for between 16-22k, shoulda gone out and looked..grandson said distance no prob, find what we want, he'd go get...he's a good kid
Suprised you dont have slideout toppers on they keep out rain snow and many types you can use to prevent wind noise..nice video

@@JonesN2Travel dont get the internal ones like girard, they will clog up with snow and collect dirt Dometic makes simple ones and you can adjust the tension and fabric choices so they are not noisy!
Oh my gosh Aaron and Tina look at that snow. I can’t believe it. That’s a must if snow. Was that last weekend? I heard it was going to be pretty bad all over the states. Here in Vegas it’s been in the 70s.
Then goes back down to 50s. And less. Did that light bulb work for warming the tank? How long did you leave it on? Just be curious.I wondered how that’s done on Rvs. Maggie sure does love the snow. My brother has dog that looks almost like Maggie but different color. Maggie is cute. But I say that to all dogs with me being a dog lover. Nice shot from the drone. Thank you Aaron and Tina. @@sherriweber7105 no more snow yet. We saw about 6 inches and within 2 days it was completely gone. We were just lucky enough to capture it LOL. Its in the 50's here now but a bit windy. Its going to be a beautiful spring I have a feeling. Safe Travels
@@JonesN2Travel 6 inches is still a lot. We have no snow plows or salt trucks out here so they tell us not to drive. It has been non stop windy here. 55 mile winds or more. Last night it was strong and cold. I thought it would snow. I believe you on the early spring. It’s funny how it can go from 20 degrees or less then go up 50. You have a great week.

You don't see to many of these snow camping videos. My wife and I just enjoy snow camping every chance we get. It is so quiet, calm, and it makes everything look beautiful. The most snow we have camped in has been 20". We used to have the old style manual awnings and we always left them out and never had a problem. In that 20" snow storm the snow had slid off of the awning and piled up so deep that there was no light between the snow and the awning. It was just open at each end. Newer awnings ??? Over the years we have managed to hunker in place for up to 5 days. Thank you so much for all you do for the rv community.

Not uncommon. That’s why we stay south until after April 1 and travel for 30 days to get to Pennsylvania. The campground looks like it’s expanding again. How many sites do we have now??
I think its somewhere around 54 sites or something. Plus they have some more electric only sites up front now by the Uhauls. Thanks for checking out the video. Safe Travels

They do sell it in a caulking type tube for a caulk gun as well. This stuff is sticky so make sure to go easy with it at first LOL. Hope this helps. Safe Travels

Hi Matt. No, we are here at Americas Mailbox Campground. We are here for the enhanced CCW permit so had to be in Pennington County for 30 days. We do want to check out Ellsworth though so we plan on visiting while we are here. Tried last year but Tina couldn't come on the base as a guest because of Covid. @@pilot41186 We were a little worried when the weather report showed up to 16 inches of snow but apparently we were on the edge of it or something because we only saw about 6 inches. Good video kind of reminds of what we had here in Fort Worth about 5-6 weeks ago but our temps were colder and lasted a little longer !

How does the HDT handle in the snow or the sand/mud, especially when boondocking? Is it heavy enough that traction isn’t a problem? Or too heavy in mud so it sinks in? Ever gotten it stuck?
It handles pretty well in the snow but if the ground was too soft then it would probably sink a bit. Never been stuck, at least not yet LOL Hope that helps. Thanks for checking out the video and following along. Safe Travels
