Amazing video that isn’t 20 minutes long of explaining what you are going to do before you actually do it - this was short & sweet & to the point and I’m gonna be trying your technique soon! I just watched like 20 videos on how to ombre hair at home and none of them where as informative as yours or as easy as yours ! I wish I would of found this video the very first time and it would of saved me a lot of hastle lol I definitely think I could ombre it myself now with confidence :) thank you for your video!

Your video was so helpful! This was the first time I used anything but boxed dye and first time doing an ombre look. My hair is pretty resistant to dye so my ends did not come out super bright (next time I may bleach before hand but I got nervous!), but I got a good subtle blended look so I'm very happy.

So I kept the hair color I would say for about 2 years in total but just needed a change which is why I've been going more blond lately. However, L'oreal does have a new blond ombre highlight kit almost identical to the one I used in the video so you can still use the same technique :) And thanks for the compliment btw!!

My hair is exactly the same but purple tips i did it myself. The bleaching of the hair is the most tiring part. But with pigmented hairnits a must to lighten it so the color comes through later. Saved a ton of money doing it myself

Alright. So this doesn't seem too difficult.... I hope. I'm going to attempt this method when doing my hair tomorrow. I will give you an update on how it goes!

Liked your video the best! and damn you did that outside?! I take it you’ve permanently dyed something a color you didn’t like…….which we’ve all done before lol I lay a tarp down these days! If I went outside my neighbors would call the loony bin on me 😂 wish I had that kind of privacy and room.
How did you choose which pieces to color? From the video it looks like you colored each chunk of hair in smaller sections but did you also leave some sections undied?
hair looks gorgeous! just wish you would have mentioned that your hair started off a much lighter color which is why the red was so vibrant. yeah.... this box color looked more auburn/burgundy than true red like yours
It actually ends up looking more vibrant the more you do it. I've done it 4 times now and each time it gets brighter.

I have a question, did you have to bleach your hair or is it not necessary? I really want to do this but I alredy bleach my hair once and that part is all damaged...
I went to a famous salon and asked for an ombre red. I had black virgin hair, they did the job but unfortunately the color didnt show up nicely! Also I asked the artist to leave alternate strips of hair black and do ombre on the rest. But now since the color is not that vibrant i want to retouch. Can i do this procedure on my hair? Its been 2 weeks since I went the salon.

I want to do this but I'd have to dye my hair black first cause it's natural color is red but then to do the ombre at the bottom I'd need to bleach it & I'm not putting bleach on my head.

Well the dye I got is for dark hair but when I first started doing it I had blond ombré as well and it worked although mine wasn't super light. Maybe ask the ladies at Sally's when you go to but it.

+Shinjini Dutta hey! So the product I used contains bleach in it so no you don't have to bleach it first although it won't be as light obviously if you are starting off with darker hair.

hi i did my bottom hair brown and had to bleach it. now ive dyed it black. do i have to bleach again or will the red just go on the hair
theres bleach in the white thingy. so it think its didnt need it because your hair is painted, just try it, but maybe its becomes greeny because you have black painted, but yeah idk
Harpinder Thiara It really depends on what level of red you're trying to achieve. You will most likely need to bleach it. My hair is naturally dark brown, almost black color, and I bleach it before putting red on.
You said there were colors other than red, but at Sallys I just saw different tones of red and brown/blonde. I was hoping to find purple or blue, but there was none :/

I know the colour part: it will hold on virgin hair, but not as easily. The colour will be a different shade depending on your current hair shade.
