awwww thank you for watching my videos! yes it is so fun to do all these great balloon designs but there's also a business that needs to be run... i think it is super important for people that are doing this as a business but also as important for people to know of how much goes into running a business and this is why our prices are the way they are.. time +effort + materials +design = money
I’m glad you mentioned family cuz our family thinks that I should do arch’s, garlands & columns for them as my “gift” to them for the event. I will always provide service for my own two daughters obviously so I’m not meaning the. But I mean sister in law, dusty, nieces, etc.. they don’t even want to pay for supplies. I have finally voiced my frustrations with them.
well, it all depends.... there are times where i don't mind helping with decorations as a small gift. But to expect to do a big display for free NO. that should not be expected they have to pay for your time and services.... if they don't agree just simply don't do it.

One thing I have learned in this business is don't compare yourself to others and your prices are your prices not matter what they are charging. I don't go on what other people charge I do go on websites and see if I can find it most times I can't but just be you and you know your area but don't underestimate your worth.

I agree if they really want something they shouldn't want to lower prices. They don't ask walmart to lower prices at the checkout lol...I clearly state my prices and I roll the ball when it comes to the prices depending on who , what and how much! Then they can decide who they want to use. My prices are reasonable and I do not deliver some decorations, they are strictly pick up. Plus I get cash only and have half down non refunded deposits. It's the way you have to go now a days in business. You are a great teacher. Thanks for your insight and honesty.

Yes, continue with important information like this video. I would love to see a video of what materials to use when hanging balloons, garlands . For instance what hooks, special tape etc.. to place on cement, brick, painted walls and such. Thank you

Yes I did both. I first venture out by myself watching tutorials, trial and error sorta speak.... but i also started investing in my craft. I continue to do that because the trends change and you will always learn something new... but if you truly ask me if you need a diploma or certificate to start this as a business... no you don't!
@@uptownevents4858 yes, I know you don't need a certificate or anything. I was asking if you went to a place that offers the classes in person. I've also been looking at youtube and your'e great at explaining what you do. I've been looking for places where I live and everything is on-line. I would have to go to Houston which is kind of far for me since I live in San Antonio, but we'll see what happens. Thanks so much for getting back to me and your great videos!

i always wanted to do something this,but my ex husband wasnt supportive and i was always scared to do it till 2 weeks i did a decoration just to help for some soccer awards event and they asked for business card. since i always go all over on my kids bday parties i just do it for fun and because i love it! now my question is ... everytime you add materials you add up everything even if its for example a big bag and you have enough for other things?this video help me a lot thanks

How do you charge for supplies? For example, if you only use two balloons out of a whole pack. Would I charge for the whole pack or only for the two balloons that were used out of the pack.
You only charge what you are giving the client...not the whole bag but what the 1 balloon costs

This is helpful. I have a hard time trying to figure out how to charge people because they look at you like what.... for balloons lol like they have no idea what goes into it. Did you take classes or just watch other balloon videos to learn.
Yes pricing is the biggest obstacle and people don’t value what we do at times! I took classes and invested in my craft.

not sure if i answered this already?? I try not to take business from clients that want to use their own balloons. one of the many reasons is because they will never purchase high quality balloons like i do... and i can't risk having cheap balloons popping, not enough quantity etc.... i either don't take the business or try my best to explain why they have to get the balloons through me and discourage them from using their own...

I've had potential customers tell me that's to expensive for a balloon bouquet. This one lady, deShe wanted the number 2, 2 big dinosaur mylars plus 4 different colors of latex. She wanted it to be about 3 feet tall for her pictures she was planning on. So I gave her a price of 100.00 and she said how about 40.00 I was like what in the world. I told her for 40.00 you get the number 2 and 3 colors and it will be about 2-3 layers ... She said what if I get to can I pay 75 for each smh no lady you can't. I told her I'm sorry but you can call someones else because I'm not changing my price. So it does happen. I just couldn't believe her. I wish I had the quote back then so I could have read it to her. I felt bad but I was just being honest.
Yes it is hard because you want to secure the business but at the-same time you cant give out stuff for free... i have had lots of businesses slip through my hand cuz of pricing and it does hurt but dont be discouraged for the1 business you loose you gain a ton more. Plus think of it this way... they really like what you do otherwise they would’ve never contacted you....
I had that happen to me too. I told them i was not a garage sale and he can make it himself. People like that are not myu customer. They just want something for free.
@@ivorybluesky this has happened to me so many times. And i understand they are shopping around for pricing and all.... i try to be accommodating but if they begin requesting all sorts of specialty things for minimal pay after already somewhat lowering my price... thank you next! lol
