one variation could be start with sliced shallots in pan with olive oil and saute until semi transparent, then follow your recipe (you add crushed walnuts with mushrooms) garnish with minced chives and those deep fried french onions as a green and golden garnish. I love your choice of Mascarpone cheese. It would be daring and fun to add in a bit of shaved Guerrier? I think this dish could warrant Sliced truffles? Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay?

Made it just as she did and it came out really thick! Still edible but that type of cheese must have made it thick. Keep this in mind. Perhaps just use cream cheese.
