- Destiny 2 Season of the Wish - Solo "The Coil" Activity - Full First Completion (All 4 Rounds). Just a video of my first playthrough of the newly added "The Coil" activity, which is similar to the Deep Dives from Season of the Deep. Details below.
Messy run as you can see, a lot of deaths and mistakes made throughout. It was just my first casual playthrough to see what it was like, and potentially make guides for collectibles or chests. I quickly learned that they're just tied to the activity and don't seem to offer too much outside of extra rep, so no guide needed there.
I was also under the impression that it was endless and was going to settle for 5 rounds of gameplay for now, but it caps out at 4 and finishes after that. It's a fun activity and a nice concept to add to the game. Whether or not it actually is worth doing is another story, but it's something different at least.
Difficulty-wise it's not too bad either. Every death I had here was completely avoidable, but I was stupid and rusty. Can probably be done in at least half the time too.

I was so happy to finally see an activity that scales with fire team size until I got in solo and saw "drifting apart" for a modifier

i soloed this first day because I thought it was an endless activity, but holy shit, this was a challenge
Just got my solo done. Very good activity, actually challenging. And once I figured out the secret chests, the loot was pouring on me. Felt satisfying. Also, Dragon's Breath is cooking bosses.

Every run I’ve gotten has had everyone leave before clearing the third.
Kinda just happy to see what a forth looks likes
My matchmade first run dropped me in the room before the final boss with 1 revive left (which I used to spawn in). The other two guys must have lost their third or something. We miraculously cleared the boss with no deaths. I had no idea the activity was so long!!
The activity is supposed to be harder with more people as it has fireteam scaling
Well that 1 way to make things more difficult, tanky bosses abd no ads!

Great activity tbh, the rewards are great and it’s pretty challenging, only gripe I have is with the health regen solo, kinda forces you into certain builds if you don’t want to cause yourself pain 😅
Blinding nades are clutch in this activity

I imagine The Coil every week will not be the same as the previous week. Would be an extra bit of difficulty to have different bosses every time although there can only be so much that could be done with the Taken and Scorn or even the Sol Divisive on that regard. Coil is like a Zelda dungeon where you get more if you find everything. I think the best thing is you have to go out of your way to find all the chests or you won't be able to progress and you got to play cautiously because while you have many revive tokens and can even get more, you run out of those it's game over.

Doing this with randoms is a nightmare. I feel I’d enjoy it a lot more if they took off the revive tokens
The revive tokens actually make it more forgiving otherwise if you wipe, you get kicked to orbit anyway

I agree doing it with randos sucks (past the first chest), especially if they don't understand all the mechanics, but I don't think the revive tokens are bad. If anything the tokens are quite generous. You start with 21, earn 6 as you play through, and each member can buy 1 which gives you 30 lives. If someone on your team is dying that often then they are simply not ready for that difficulty of content. First chest is very easy and made for matchmaking. Second chest maybe with Randos if you get teammates that aren't braindead. 3rd and 4th chest is made for solo or coordinated fireteams only as it's Master/GM difficulty and isn't meant for everyone.
It took me 1 hour and 23 mins for a full solo run but i explored every nook and cranny for stuff, unfortunately only got gold rewards
For anyone who doesn't know, well of radiance will take away any restoration buff.. he died in the 3rd stage when he popped his super because of this. So be careful with popping well in a bad spot, you might be better off running and gunning with x2 restoration until the mobs are mostly gone. Not a comment for esoterikk but for anyone who doesn't know that well does that 👍 glhf everyone
I did a run of this solo and I’m not sure if there’s a specific condition necessary for it but I got all of the hidden chests to get platinum rewards and the techeuns opened a portal that had 7 chests at the end, I got 3 ascendant alloys from them
Can confirm, also gets you the triumph to enter the chamber of wishes
plat is entirely dependent on reaching 140k score

Just got all those awards yesterday in a rando fireteam off Matchmaking.
2 days ago i joined a random team literally seconds before they killed the final boss and got to go to the wish room, it starts you out already dead and i didnt even have a chance to revive and do damage before they killed it. Needless to say it was a pleasant surprise lmao.

Dope gameplay as always gang. Kinda sucks that I’ll pull up for every Eso destiny vid but refuse to turn the game on 🤣 I’m just burned out and I feel like we fight one of the same five bosses at the end of every activity/season and I’m just bored of it. The story is still fire tho lol

That's a cracking idea. He could see if he could beat the time trials in the master ones solo. I honestly don't know what else is left to do for this machine of a guardian.

No, but if you pick up a shard it will still exist on their side so all 3 can pick them up
not very fond of this activity. My tools kit is nerfed AND this feels like an even harder difficulty than previously hard activities. got one-shot so many times its not funny. glad it gives convenient rewards though, but tear my hair out and annoying difficulty not for me.
It's supposed to be hard, solo is probably easiest as more people in the fireteam increases the starting base combatant power level, at round 4, you will probably be fighting at GM level though that said I've only done it solo and nothing can 1 shot you unless it's spikes lol
@@MrRudiculous73 I don’t know what changes from solo too a group of three but I’ve been one shot by the boss and scorn snipers with 100 resil, 2 resist mods, and woven mail.
Even my solar titan restoration gets dunked on. I can for see myself not playing this mode often but I hope others can find enjoyment
I haven't been one shotted a SINGLE time on all three of my characters in this activity, and I wasn't even using meta builds.

Isn't funny how I found gms easier? what's supposed to be the hardest content...easier? Not easy, just...easier than whatever crap this is....I've done most raids, most gms, I've even soloed a few master nightfalls(not a masochist to do gms) so please tell me good sir, as someone who has been developing his "skill" for the better part of 5-7 years where might the 'issue" be? @@jonahbrown5669
