The Rebel 1100 SADDLEBAG SOLUTION (Works With Upswept Exhaust!)

  • Most aftermarket exhausts for the Honda Rebel 1100 have one big issue in common- they have an upswept design, which leaves no room for saddlebags. UNTIL NOW! I took a chance and got the Thrashin Supply Company Essential Saddlebags and found a way to make them work on my Rebel 1100!
Two Brothers Racing and Vance & Hines both make some of the most popular exhausts for the Honda Rebel 1100, but neither of them leave any room for the most popular saddlebag options for these bikes. If you want to use the OEM Honda saddlebagsbags, S.W. Motech bags, Viking Bags, or any similar brands, your only option until now has been to use the stock Rebel 1100 exhaust, a shorty exhaust, or the brand new TBR low exhaust. I LOVE my upswept Two Brother's exhaust, so I'm SO STOKED to have found saddle bags that work with it!
The install of the Thrashin Supply Essentials Bags is super easy, requiring only an additional bag bracket kit from Thrashin Supply and a few washers. Even after a full day of riding, the Essential Saddlebags don't get hot and look just as good as new!
Thrashin Supply also makes a bigger saddle bag called the Escape Saddlebags, but I don't think they'll fit the Rebel 1100 without a longer extension bracket and/or rear suspension that doesn't have the piggyback reservoir. But if you're feeling adventurous, test them out and let me know! haha

After buying a set of saddlebags, you recognize how handy they are. Soon, you're looking at a bigger set. Not long after getting the slightly bigger set, you wish they were also a little bigger, but that's the largest set that fits your bike. So you buy a new bike- I'm on a M8 Road King now. Soon, you'll be one of us. I await your arrival to the club brother.

One thing I want to mention to you is which is a good idea, is to lock up your saddle bags. I just use cheap Master Locks from Home Depot. I bought a 4 pack for under 10 dollars. That way my stuff is completely safe. I just lock the zipper pulls together. I know if a thief wants to gain access they can easily do it, but having the saddle bags locked up is nice. Great video. I too would like a Honda Rebel 11 someday. I have a Honda Rebel 250 from '99 and a 1973 Suzuki RV125 and a Suzuki GS500F which is my daily commuter. That's the bike where I have the saddlebags, tail bag, and tank bag as well. The more luggage 🧳🛅 options the better. I never have to wear a backbag then either which is nice. Great video.
    God bless 🙏

To prevent rust and blacken the washers, simply Dip in oil hit it with a hot flame, dip in oil, repeat a few times, it will be black and rust proof, like a seasoned Wok. You could get anti slip rubber mats, used in caravans and boaters, prevents rubbing on your beautiful paint job. The type of anti slip Mats that you put plates and cups. You can trim them so they remain invisible.

Hey Burch, love the video. I’ve been looking for bags for my 2020 Honda rebel 500 and haven’t been completely sold on the Viking bags that lock, although that’s one of the reasons I’ve been leaning towards Viking because it does lock, however, your video came across my search for saddlebags, and I really like this look of the Thrashin bags. I went to their website and they have hard mounted brackets that look like they can easily be adjusted from side to side and in height either to go up or have it a little bit lower. Yup, you should be good! There’s a guy who put them on his 500 with a Vance & Hines exhaust and based off the pictures, the bags actually look further away from the exhaust than on my bike 🤘🏻

They’re not my style, but they can definitely look good! Burly Brand just released ape hangers and a cable extension kit for these bikes actually!

Bags would be so convenient, but they ruin the look of the bike imo

That’s why I went with these! I feel like they’re the perfect balance between looks and convenience. I couldn’t imagine my bike without em now! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
