This kind of play reminds me when ranked was tier 8 a few years back. I used Ki with a secondary build, at first I thought "this is a dumb idea" but I realised the secondaries firing like laser beams actually were getting a lot more hits than Tirpitz/Bismarck and the 410mm guns are devastating against broadsides. Ranked out just closing the distance with everything and melting or torping it.
It’s perfect for ranked. Especially when you keep close to a pommern. Both can melt any bb in no time. That gives you protection as the other bb is focused over you. Any secondary bb is greatly paired with this ship. Guns are meh, but once you close that gap, ifhe build and your doing considerable damage quickly. I enjoy it in ranked. Very useful to island creep and focusing dds down
I like it a lot more than expected. I love the great firing angles.
I was rather hyped for this ship and I still think its a good ship. I just feel like it needs a bit of a buff, particularly in its secondary range.
I find it satisfactory and well-balanced. Decent HP at 80k, good 50mm main deck armor, tight turning radius, and the fun secondaries. As an enthusiast of Kii, I perceive this as an improved T9 Kii more than anything. This ship doesn't really compare to Hizen, and or other secondary battleships. Iwami is full gimmicks and having many traits in one. But certainly not accelerating in any of it's traits. I like it, it's comfortable to use and definitely has weaknesses. Good ship for skilled players.
Perhaps instead of Secondary Accuracy, you get the range out to the max and use it to buff your ship with Close Quaters Combat for example. After all the 100ms only pen 30mms (Cruisers and DDs), plus the ship have grate concealment, so you can take Brisk to make up for that 28 knots speed when undetected.

I have a tank build with Aiming systems in the third slot and reload booster in the sixth and have been really happy playing ranked. The 24 second reload is useful, accuracy is good and AP impressive in my view. I havent played randoms in it and expect it would struggle against T10 and super ships. Getting to Rank 1 in Bronze league with a battleship is usually hard for me but this one was way less difficult. Also got my highest damage in ranked of just over 250k with Awami. No complaints from me.
You are spot on in your assessment of this ship - it's certainly not a 'go-to' ship. I paid for the top-shelf premium package and played the heck out of it purely from a farming lens, and man did it produce! I won't call this or the most expensive packages that WoW sells as favs, but with all the flags and economic bonuses, it comes with make it a farming dream for a month.
Thanks you for noticing turret angles. If you ever have the opportunity to give feedback, I want a battleship with triple or quad turrets in the front, and dual turrets in the rear with great firing angles. Have a great day
Just got mine yesterday! Full secondary build for me, taking me a while to get used to the ship but I think it looks great so all good😂 - could just do w/ an extra km of sec range...

Tried the Georgia in ranked like you did the other day in your vid. Full secondary build and no DD’s so push in I did. Oh man it was fun. Murdered a cruiser and spanned couple bb’s and we won easily. In chat a red player asked me if I’d watched your vid. Replied “maybe^^” lol.
Georgia is mediocre, six guns and below average armor. Easily the worst T9 BB
Its fast. Very accurate guns and good secondaries. So... wont say its the worse.
@@ReDiR20 Thats a first. I never heard anyone say shes the worst T9 BB, for a reason. Fast cooldown on DCP and heals.
Good firestarting capabilities with those high accuracy secondaries, shes fast, has very strong pen values and good main gun dispersion / accuracy.
Ofc, her armor isnt the best, along with her gigantic superstructure which makes her take alot of damage, that hurts having a "low" hp pool. Thats where the said fast cooldown comes into play. Rudder isnt that great either but its VERY much managable.
A skilled player will use everything this (or any) ship has to offer while minimizing her (their) weaknesses and is a terrifying enemy to deal with. If you expect to yolo in and brawl like a madman, you´ll die in no time and almost nothing will save you then. But playing her at mid range will make you win alot of fights, especially when you weak up your target and pressure them with the secondaries (if you build for their range) .. you´re quite a scary ship, especially in ranked.
Alot of upsides, quite some downsides but Georgia is FAR away from being "easily the worst T9 BB"
@@KS7. Georgia has standard DCP cooldown, only the Repair Party cooldown is reduced. Like other USN BBs, the DCP does have an extended duration of 20s, though.

pommern or iwami? which one a best? distance ?feature? damage ? for random battles
I've watched you a few times over the years, you usually have a similar take as mountbatten or flamu with out being as loud as the latter. However 7:15 earned my sub, that was funny as hell.

Because Pommern has better guns, torp angles and much better armor and citadel ...
@@UrielUK pommern has shit guns, horrendously shit. Even if these were Nagato guns they'd be better than pommern's AND pommern has worse gun angles with no 27mm overmatch. Pommern's armor scheme is definitely not outright better, its superstructure is easily twice the size of Iwami, which is the thing you'll be eating most of the damage through.
@@cleveland2286 Pommen has a guns still better than Friedrich der Grosse and I will compare it only to the brawlers and for 12km and closer are pretty good, also is much harder to citadel ger bb what is very usefull if u need to push through 2 or 3 ships.I like Pommern guns since they improved ger bb accuracy and please dont tell me about nagato's guns - same guns but doesn't feel the same if you compare nagato,amagi,izumo or for example hizen is a damn shotgun...And as I said as brawler Iwami doesn't look good but its still interesting ship, brawler needs to citadel from short range , brawler needs good secondaries and good range of them, and epic survi. Torps are also welcome :)

Yo, that Secondary DPM chart is great. Where do we find that? Awesome to see my Giuseppe Verdi has the highest secondary dpm, though sad it isn't the highest hitting dpm (whatever that means).
So take ifhe was good for this ship or pass to another commander skill ?

Iwami and other ships explain why you sometimes have to build a new class instead of upgrading what you got. The citadel and the undergunned secondaries can only be upgraded by gadgetry (Special bullets, fewer but bigger guns, an accuracy upgrade, etc.)
How did you get that "angle meter" under your ship's hp? I thought this mod is not working.
You should just ignore the 155 guns the front 3 100 turrets have excellent arcs so you have to give little broadside to fire the guns
i tryed full secundarys, but accuracy works better for me, having a citadel above water line its not good for a brawl bb. congrats on getting in CC program. send regards to boggzy when you talk to him. cheers from Portugal
I play this ship like Amagi, and I see this ship as a fully pledged floating fortress definitely armed to the teeth, been getting good games on it, win or lose I got to do higher dmg scores than my average 50k to 70k I even charged a Kremlin with it on my first game and hit it with all my torps by doing a risky swerve but armor held well, superstructure is a massive HE spam target tho
Iwami's guns are more comparable to Hizen's than Nagato's (better initial velocity, pen, and slightly better drag coeff, slightly worse Krupp), just Iwami has 8 guns instead of 12 with a 10(!) second faster reload. They're not as good as Izumo's guns, but they're enough to get the job done according to WG.
Iwami seems really suited for ranked (which is where I've seen every single Iwami in game- typically on the other team) and brawls, which confused me since WG released it after the T9 brawls ended. But it looks like a good enough time if I want to take my secondary spec Yamamoto meme build out if I get bored of Shikishima or my divmates want to play T9 or something. Not going to rush out and buy it though, maybe when the coupon comes back.

Hizen either just needs its reload improved to something like 35 sec, or its pen improved to match the Izumo to make the guns more useful imo

I trained 2 captains for Iwami, one is standard tank build cmdr from Yamato and the other is full secondary cmdr. honestly, with its exceptionally good firing angles and accurate guns (guess I've been playing German BBs too much), I find a normal tank build works even better for this ship, making it a more consistent dmg dealer. the secondary is a little bit of a meme for me, the range is just too short to make use of its monstrous secondary dpm, which is a bit disappointing though
As a T9 BB, it's much much much more better than my Marlborough btw.
I chose Iwami over Pommern because of Iwami’s better guns, hence better at Random matches that I mostly play.

As a co-op player I'd be inclined to sacrifice maximum secondary battery rate of fire and take the main gun reload in slot 6. You do a good job of highlighting the ship's vulnerabilities and some of its not-immediately-apparent strengths (gun angles). Given the ships I already have if I want to play competitive, this looks like a good candidate to have secondary IJN fun at Tier 9. Do you have the Kii, and are you able to do a one to one comparison between Iwami and Kii insofar as brawling is concerned?

It is called Navigator in the Modstation. There are three variations. The one he is using is Navigator Big

I'm fine with it not being a powercreep/OP ship, but as you said it doesnt offer much what you couldnt also achieve with a Prinz P.
So I'm going to pass, at least for the near future until either the next ship for coal gets announced or I have enough for more than one ship. But I'm also not that big of a BB nerd and I have the majority of the T9 freemium ships, incl. the good old ones like Georgia, JB and Musashi. So I really don't need another t9 IJN trainer or another secondary BB at all costs.

How do you even get a Des Moines on the enemy team that wants to do ANYTHING ELSE besides sit behind an island? In 9,000 games I don't think I've ever seen a DM player push like that.....
155 mm secondary is still missing 5mm pen. They have 26, they should have 31, like Mogamis guns.
I wouldnt say its a secondary ship, when its not geting the range others have. You wuldnt say Kii is a secondary ship, almost same secondary layout, 100mm 30mm pen guns are the same, but only 6.6 base range, Iwami got 7 base range, thats just not enough.
Dose not mean i wouldnt go secondarys on Kii anyway occasionally, its fun when it works^^

Games being passive is an understatement. People are such cowards, it's terrible. Full health bb's sitting in the back, not taking a single damage all game. Horrible experience sometimes.

I am not sure that this BB provides anything that you cannot get from a techtree alternatives. I guess it is useful if you want one more T9 premium credit earner but that's about it.
i think it needs 2 buffs to make it worth getting; buff the speed of the ship, and range of the secondaries.
To be a brawler You need 2 things - armor and good secondary - this one has worse armor than Hizen... but agree is interesting and probably gonna get him after Black for coal ;)
No, she's not a secondary build Japanese battleship. I tried out this build, fails miserably at that role. Her range would would be worse than Georgia. So, this is not the way you play her.
How you would play her is by playing at medium-long range. Don't spec her into secondaries because she is not made for that.

My impression as well. Good secondaries. Great angles. But in current meta it's just bad. Same as Schlieffen. Great brawling ship. But most of the time you just can't brawl. I hate playing Schlieffen. And it's even worse these days compared to when Schlieffen was released. I've seen people actually backing up from spawn. There is nobody 15km from caps. And caps are full of DDs and subs.
I think best IJN secondary BB is still Mikasa :-P
Mountbatten said it best: this ship feels like it wants to be a close range, Harugumo strapped to the sides secondary beast, but got cold feet and stopped halfway through.
At almost all ranges, there are better, free ships that I'd rather use over this one, and it's disappointing.

Tell your buddy to play T5 to T8 games more often. Earning credits for T9 and T10 games is not that good without permanent and disposable economic bonuses.

High time a BB that doesn't have higher secondary range than the main battery range of a DD. BBs shouldn't be able to do free damage to a destroyer, it's ridiculous.
What BB is that? 'cause an invisible DD spamming torps at u is perfectly fair... About as fair as a BB throwing out 20km torps. Only a matter of time before a cruiser gets Harpoon missiles.
It needs longer range secondaries to be more viable, its also too slow. The Hizen is a better ship

Charging 77 dollars which is the cost of full size games most of the time just for mediocre is laughable.
I will have to disagree with you on this ship. In my opinion this is a fine ship, even a strong one in close range.
The PR only has around 65K health, and I got double citidals through the nose by a Georgia before because of the 30mm ice breaker. And I will take these Japanese 410mm over the nerfed 406mm on the PR anytime.
Also you can nolonger get Georgia easily anymore.
If you own a Musashi, this ship alongside Hizen are pointless.
Also if you own a Musashi and you wish to use and spec Yamamoto for this ship, you're making a big mistake by not spec-ing it for Yamato/Musashi instead.
Yeah, Musashi is very difficult to deal with especially in ranked. The moment you get within 15km you get smacked really hard with those 18.1 ap shells.
"Nagato guns" - I'm convinced, not interested in Iwami at all.
