  • I often get asked how long it takes me to build a kit from scratch. In this time-lapse video, it comes down to just short of 9 minutes, with the footage being sped up, the build time was actually around 4.5 hours! I usually say that it takes me a full day to build a car. Which is usually between 6-8 hours in total, depending how much time I spend on the wiring of the electronics etc. And if it includes the mounting of a bodyshell. Please note that this build was done for a friend, so the ESC brand of choice does not reflect my personal choice (and sponsor).

Building new cars is sometimes the most fun part and occasionally the least favourite part. Their’s no in between.

What’s your opinion on the awesomatix 800mmx , i know you don’t drive it but I’d like to know what you think about it? 🔥

I’m curious what he will say. I have a A800MMX and I’ve found that every brand fan is gonna say that they’re car is the best. (Not saying that’s what he’s gonna say, I’m not speaking for him) based on all the research I’ve done most unbiased opinions said that Mugen is the most durable, AMX and X-ray the best handling but more delicate…and that when you fine tune the AMX it out performs the rest BUT it’s finicky and you’ll have to tune it after each run and for sure after any contact. I’m new to this so I have no idea lol I’m just telling you what I’ve read or heard from all that I’ve asked.

It's a fast car. But it's mainly suited for people that like to work on their car. Not super easy to use or understand for a beginner and/or hobbyist that has never used one before.

@@hagberg would you say XRay is the same? Or much more user friendly?

Definitely more user friendly. And we work tremendously hard on our customer support!

@@hagberg yeah I think I may have got in over my head starting with a A800MMX, but I also hear great things about it when the car is setup correctly. Lots to learn…
