    I sold my X100T about a year ago and after watching this it has given me the strongest desire to buy a new X100 camera again... Great video!

    Did you get many reactions to the use of flash? Great shots btw, and looking forward to next Sydney video

      Not really! I find that in the rain it's easier to go unnoticed with such a small flash as on the X100V, especially if people are more concerned with avoiding getting wet. Additionally, many people may just think I'm taking photos of the general scenery or whatever's behind them or near them (which is where I'll tend to be looking while taking the shot, then they'll often look over in that same direction to see what I was taking a photo of) If they do look or notice me, I just smile and nod/acknowledge them, and haven't had any problems. But, I do exercise some discretion as to when I'll actually use the flash, and try to judge each situation/subject. Generally speaking, it's rare that I'll use it on the street (especially when it's not raining or night time)

    Great stuff, Hashem. Some really nice frames in this, looks like the X100V is working out pretty well for your street work.

    Great walk through Sydney, shooting with the X100V in such inclement weather. Fantastic results.

    Did you ever notice the lens hood blocking some of the flash?

    • @hashemmcadam
      @hashemmcadam  Před 2 lety +1

      I did actually! I learnt after a noticing its effect in a few of my shots to take it off when using flash

    Holy crap dude you're confident enough to use flash on the street 😂 oof. People are so uptight sometimes I'd be afraid.

    Love the black and white! Have you tried fuji recipes yet? I have one based on tri-x and it's probably my favourite recipe to shoot of all.

    Great vid mate. Im actually amazed at the weather sealing on the x100v.. that's crazy!
    It looks like such a capable camera.
    Sydney is a funny old city, especially in the rain. Lots of greys then pops of light.
    Loved the video mate, I'll definitely check out more on this and your film channel!

    there's still no way I dare use the X100V in that sort of rain; annoying umbrella all the way for me!

  • @mathewtoll6780

    I took my X100v out on a rainy photowalk about the same time in Melbourne and the next day the aperture ring was stiff and squeaky and I thought I might have to take it to get serviced. It seems good now, but gives me pause though about the weather sealing.

    • @hashemmcadam
      @hashemmcadam  Před 2 lety

      Oh no! Even with a filter mounted to the lens?

    • @mathewtoll6780
      @mathewtoll6780 Před 2 lety

      @@hashemmcadam this was with a fuji adaptor and a third-party 49 mm filter to weather seal it. It seems fine now, but something to worry about

      @hashemmcadam  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks! That was the Canon 5D with 28mm 1.8 USM, and the audio is a Rode Podmic plugged into a Klark Teknik CT1 booster, and M-Audio interface.

    Fuji 100V is not whether sealing.Is about to be whether sealing (what exactly 98% means?).About is a complete NO for me.
