- It's come to my attention that Black Doom thinks he's all that and a bag of chips. Sorry to say, but Shadow the Hedgehog takes orders from no one. Those Chaos Emeralds aren't yours to have!
Rouge: “Well done Shadow! You’ve defeated Black Doom and saved the world!”
Shadow: “Oh, I wouldn't say “Saved.” More like “under new management.”"
Rouge: *Looks in shock and horror*
Shadow is the best hero ever. He defeats the alien leader only to conquer the universe himself. There's definitely nothing wrong with that...
armymonkey1 This isn't the hero ending, this is the dark ending but with Shadow doing a hero mission on the last level.

Still though, they were being sarcastic but were mixed up on the thing they were being sarcastic about, since the joke is about this being a "Hero" ending and all, even though it's not. Hence my correction.
I personally consider this to be one of the better endings in this game. Especially since I frequently make sure to do some Hero missions beforehand, too.
Westopolis (Hero) -> Lethal Highway (Hero) -> Circus Park (Dark) -> Sky Troops (Dark) -> Air Fleet (Dark) - GUN Fortress (Hero) :D
Just doing whatever's necessary to weaken all sides of the conflict, make Black Doom think I'm on his side near the end, and then betray him during the final invasion. I even try to _avoid_ killing any human GUN soldiers (unless I have to in order to progress; the Circus Park *Dark* mission in consideration).

The President's still alive, the ARK's defenses are still intact, Eggman's fleet is crippled (but he isn't dead), and Black Doom has been defeated.
All according to Shadow's plan for [eventual] universal conquest. >:D

Actually, here's my order of how the invasion should go:
Westopolis(Hero) > Lethal Highway(Dark) > Prison Island(Neutral) > Sky Troops(Dark) > Air Fleet (Dark) > GUN Fortress (Hero).

Or technically the Hero mission to, as before the Black Bull fight, Shadow says he doesn't take orders.

Also you have to remember that the majority of the of the adventure that you're basically doing the Dark missions until this point.
@@majorfanboy2005 Right, to name a few, you blew up an entire city, destroyed the president’s air craft attempting to assassinate him, and even shot a space cannon at the entire midwest of the United Federation which if it wasn’t for the E10+ rating, it would have likely killed millions of people.

1:46 I'm not used to seeing Rouge's Sonic Heroes model in her normal design...which reminds me why they stopped giving rouge that outfit she had in that game?
It was considered too provocative. Ironically, that's why Rouge had her Heroes design in the first place. They thought her SA2 design was provocative (especially her unlockable one), so they changed it to her Heroes design. But when THAT was considered even MORE provocative, they changed it back.

you, sir, have played too much brawl and/or have watched too much DBZ, the Emeralds don't scatter after they're used.
He did find his "past", that he was born to rule over everything.
And as Shadow said himself, he doesn't take orders from anyone, I imagine that he was just playing along with Black Doom's scheme and took the opportunity to off him when he could get all the emeralds in one swift motion.

10 different endings...they're all really not that special from one another. They're practically the same scene with some different models and a slightly changed script.
And yeah, this was one of those 10 endings.
Wait a sec, why are G.U.N. shooting at Shadow when Rouge is with him? Uh, Rouge is one of their agents too. And for that matter, the rest of the Hero characters also get attacked (There not agents, but still...) And, where was Rouge in the cutscenes prior to and post boss fight?
I have a theory that Sonic, Tails and Vector also joined G.U.N. temporarily to fight the Black Arms in this game.

She's a double agent. She needs Shadow to think she is on his side first and GUN's second so she can convince him to betray the Black aliens.
I think she is non-canon to the fight. She is just in the battle because Shadow needs an ally.

One thing that bothers me about this game is that annoys me about this game is that there's only 1 GUY voicing every single grunt. No variety at all...

One of the dumbest endings. I mean, not only he changes his mind at the very last second, but those emeralds didn't do jack to reveal him from the past. In addition to that, now he wants to conquer the universe? When he goes super, those Chaos Emeralds are going to scatter and soon, he won't be able to accomplish that task. This ending is just.... ugh...

Too many voice lines during gameplay
This stage honestly makes me wish that instead of a shooter/platform/edgefest...thing, Shadow instead was more like James Bond, y'know, sneaking ariund, silently doing missions, killing foes with speed and silence, getting info from NPCs, making the game instead a stealth/detective/shooter/platformer hybrid, which would be VERY unique. Though all the over-the-top vaccums, egg launchers and neon orange lasers stay(the image of a black hedgehog sneaking around armed with a car-sized minigun is just too good to pass up). All the vehicles can go rot in Hell tho.

No he did, it’s just Shadow has already committed horrible acts at this point that doing one “heroic” thing wouldn’t really mean he’s good. At the very least he’s not going to destroy the planet.

@Slayerfide Ah. It's not just in Brawl. Pay close attention to the other Sonic games: After Sonic is done with his Super form, why is the Chaos Emeralds in a different location? Sounds like the emeralds have been scattered.

in Brawl, Sonic's Final Smash turns him into Super Sonic, and, after it wears off, the chaos emeralds scatter out of sonic (though if you get another final smash, they come right back).

@Slayerfide Hmm.... If it's Sonic Advance 2 and 3, then it'll happen like this: To get the true ending, you have to search for the 7 Chaos Emeralds that are scattered around the stages. Think this might suggest that it scatters. If you're talking about the really old Sonic games, I can't explain much. Maybe you can help me on that part? :P

@Slayerfide Ah okay. That is what I was referring to: For some reason after the emeralds are used to go to super form, the emeralds are then located in different locations. You do have a point for the old ones when you collect 50 rings. Wonder what they were going for on this one

Well he already shot an orbital cannon at the earth and/or attempted to assassinate the president.
Doing one heroic thing wouldn’t mean he is good now, his allegiance is already made clear in the previous missions leading to GUN fortress.

you could go super sonic as many times as you wanted as long as you had 50 rings.
as to why they are in new locations every game... i don't know. all i know is that they don't scatter after one use.
