      Lets see went to my first show in 78-79. After that went to so many shows more than likely before you were born and was back stage three times, have played their music and studied it, From the days of the jug band to 95. I like DSO. I think they are great. abut again, THERE WAS NOTHING LIKE A GRATEFUL DEAD SHOW.

    • @kevinwilliams6103
      @kevinwilliams6103 Před 8 lety +1

      +Augest West - I said it was better than a lot of renditions...because this song has literally been played over 100 times by the dead...that doesnt mean all, it doesnt mean most, it does not mean a majority or even a small minority - it means a lot - which i admit is a very slippery word...we should say many. It could mean five. I saw my first dead show in 77 when i was five - at great american music hall. I dont just listen to the dead or play their music...i listen to all types of music and this rendition of help/slipknot/ft is better than many dead versions i have heard...that means like maybe 5...and i am talking about a song not a show...there is nothing like a dead show...and DSO is nothing like a dead show...its minor leagues...but i was impressed by the tightness of the band which is what happens when you tour for a long time and dont use drugs every day.

      @Bernie Miller: tribute bands doing some fine work since these guys . Almost Dead, D&Co, Grateful Shred, Grateful Affect. Billy Strings w/Weir, again w/Kreutzman and Tom Hamilton (Billie and the Kids).
      Btw,, listening to this singer doing Help on the Way and Franklin' Tower doesn't c seem to know all the notes. Made me wonder if they didn't have anyone better in the band.

    I saw this band for the first time ever a couple of years ago. It was a really great show and it was twenty bucks. No frills really. Tomorrow night, they're back, and this time they are 35 bucks. But now that I see the stage and hear them killing this Help->Slip, i'm thinking they must have jumped up an entire, 15 dollar level. I remember when phish did that.... anyway, Should be a hot show!

    Not everyone was fortunate enough to have seen the Grateful Dead when Jerry, Pig, Keith or Brent (or whoever made the band great for them) was alive. DSO has the energy and keeps the music alive. Haters can just merrily fuck off. I have seen these guys a number of times, as well as Rat Dog, Furthur, Dead and Co., Mickey Hart Band, Trichromes, Phil and Friends, Robert Hunter and various local cover bands. I go for the tribe, vibe and the music.

      I was born in 1990. All my uncles were heads and I jumped on the bus when I started playing guitar at 12. Saw the dead in 04’ first show then first ratdog in 05’ same year first DSO show. I can’t agree with your comment any more. I completely agree. I personally play in a new dead cover band and we all cherish the music sooo very much and people do hate on cover bands but that’s ok bc at the end of the day if I can even in the smallest way help someone experience that amazing moment where the music grabbed hold of me and awoken me to the taste of such beautifully orchestrated pieces of music that completely changed my life and outlook on music that makes it alll worth it just by continuing the love of the music. I wasn’t fortunate enough to experience jerry but if it wasn’t for rat dog dso further etc I would have never had the opportunity to get a glimpse of the Magic the band has brought to sooo many of us and for that I am forever grateful 🫶🏻 🎶 💀 🌹 NFA
