    Hi Rhonda! This was demoed at the retreat and that was the first thing I said, can’t see the measurements. Alexis from Sizzix said she asked for them to be inked and the cost was unbelievable so they didn’t do it. Could be a game changer for me, not sure yet. I have to be able to see those numbers! Lol! I would have paid more for them for sure! Enjoy!

      I'm still going to give it a chance. It's large and heavy, so it needs to be stationary.

    Ok, I have tried watching this twice. It looks too big. My biggest thought is, if you are questioning and having a time with it, I don't want it. Thank you so much for trying things out!! For me, if something has too many steps, I will get frustrated because I will not remember. I have notes about the order of things taped to my wall and desk. Thank you!!!!

    I suppose after using it awhile it would all become second nature, but I'm not that patient. I've tried many new cutters etc and end up going back to my fiskars trimmer with the wire. It has never let me down. My envelope board by We R is great, use it all the time..the simple one. LOL. This looks lovely....and solid and does a lot....... but not sure I need it. Glad you tested it out, tho..thanks for that!

    The Sizzix video explains a lot of the things you were struggling with. One thing to note is the ruler is to be moved to the left to score the envelope. Turn the ruler and you can see the etched envelope and a left-pointing arrow. That seems to hold the ruler more firmly and it doesn’t move as much.

    Hi Rhonda 👋
    Great demonstration. 👍
    Not impressed with this at all. Just for all that gluing to make a small box. Ugh! 😳
    This would take too much space and time to do any project for me.
    Glad I didn't purchase when it came out.
    I love all my WR Memory Keepers punch boards. I use them all the time.
    My fiskars rotor blade trimmer is the best.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Hugs from Kentucky 😁
    Happy Crafting ✂️

    Hi sweetie!! You have to swing the blue arm straight up and down in order to score. Then you can butt your paper up and measure correctly. The blue arm also lifts out very easy. I should say slides out. Good video. I also hate that we cannot see the measurements.

      Very frustrating! You can put a little black ink on your finger and rub across the ruler area. The ink should go down in the crevices and what is left on top, just wipe off with a damp cloth.

  • @angela14962002
    @angela14962002 Před rokem

    For scoring...the whole time I was hoping that you would turn that top (green) ruler down (according to the image in the instructions.) 😊For example, with We are memory keepers, you have to flip that green ruler over in order to score...well with this trimmer, in order to score, you also have to adjust the green ruler, except it stays attached to the unit, so it has to be turned until you get to the 90 degree angle. I hope you were able to figure it out, but if you go back to the image in the instructions, it will show you where the green ruler needs to be.

      @@RhondaMilehamBennett I am blind as a bat 😊so not being able to see the numbers that well may very well be a problem for me also. However, I am thinking about giving it a try since I purchased We Are Memory Keepers all in one twice now. The first time it accidently fell off of a stack of books that I had on the floor (it wasn't that high) and the punches broke off. The second one I stored in the packaging and it fell off my worktop and again the punches broke off and a piece is missing from my stamping pad (It doesn't help that I am extra clumsy). I love We Are Memory Keepers - one of my favorite companies for crafts - so I am not complaining, but I was thiking about giving sizzix a try (as I love them also). 😊 When/If you figure out a way to make the numbers show up better, then please reply to my comment. Thanks.

    • @RhondaMilehamBennett
      @RhondaMilehamBennett  Před rokem +1

      Take a little black ink or paint on your finger, rub it across the numbers, and have a damp cloth to wipe off the excess. The paint/ink will settle in the grooves, and then you will be able to see them.

      I’ve just received this tool and I’m also struggling to see the numbers. I hope you will provide a follow up video as to your results of inking or using paint to resolve this issue. I agree there’s room for improvements that could have made this tool so much better and I think those improvements would have been worth a higher price point for a more user friendly scoring and cutting board. Sizzix certainly has some unique features with this but failed on the fine points. Personally I’d rather pay more for one really high quality fully appointed functional tool than to have a whole arsenal of them that didn’t quite measure up. After all in the long run our monies are spent trying to find something that preforms at it’s finest. Thanks

    It’s a NO for me. I need to see the measurements. It’s pretty time consuming just learning everything. I’m afraid not using it on a regular basis you would have to review the instructions each time you use it. 😱 You sounded very frustrated. I know I would be. I would like to know who “TESTED” this before marketing it. They diffidently weren’t crafters. It’s so big….. I’m still trying to find a space for my Original Gemini. 😱 Again…thanks for sharing your time with us! 🙋🏻‍♀️❤️🤗 Love my Fiskars trimmers they are guaranteed for life, something goes wrong they replace it for FREE! Also love my We R Makers Punch Boards. (The Envelope & Box Punch Boards.❤️)

    Hi. I loved your video, but you told us to let you know if you do something wrong (in a nice way), and I will try to say this as gentle as I can. You need to read the instructions better, look carefully at the picture for the scoring and you will notice that the green ruler needs to be put at an 90 degree anglefor you to see the scoring number ruler. I think they should have made it more visible though as it's hard to see even with glasses and good light, but if you look at the man (don't remember his name) from Sizzix, he just put the paper slightly below the top to get to the score lines a little easier. I'm sorry if I wasn't gentle enough with english not being my first language it's kind of hard to explain properly in english, but hope you take it as a kind message on how to use your tool, it's to expencive to just set a side I think. You might have figured this out by now also by yourself, so if you have just ignore my tip.
    I just bought mine last Sunday and got it on Tuesday but wasn't able to look at it before on Friday and Saturday. I love it so far. I also have the WRMK All in one and love that one, but as I use CM mostly and inch sometimes I thought this would be easier as you can just switch without bringing another tool out and I also have been looking for a trimmer with a similar blade as the old Martha Stewart trimmer as it was a good cutting blade. (Exept it almost cut off my friends finger when she showed me howxto change the blade without cutting your finger, I guess it was the opposite of what she did. I sold it as I figured I need ten fingers. ) On this trimmer the blade change looks a little easier but I would just have to be careful as I'm kind of clumsy and have big fingers. I like that the thing the blade glides on looks like it's metal, and the trimmer looks just more solid to me than a lot of other trimmers, and I have had at least 30 different trimmers the past 20 years, always looking for a trimmer that's easy to use that also cut straight and can be taken to crops without a truck. I have been using one for years that has a roller blade, but it's just 15 cm (6") wide and since it's a rollerblade you can not make boxes without using scissors to cut the flaps. I like this kind of trimmer that let you cut just a little bit in the middle of your baper and that lines up right. This is kind of a hybrid between the old Martha Stewart and Fiskars trimmers with the envelope board and tag punch and corner rounder like on the envelope board, box board and tag board. It's also a score board, so you can use just one instead of like 7-8 tools to make one thing. I also like the envelope guide, it's so much easier to use than the old envelope punch board. I think I will still use my All in one tool also, but to make boxes and stuff, this is easier, but to score just one inch I think it should have a stoping line to put your paper against so it doesn't slide, but this might be me that hasn't figured it all out yet.
    I have now subscribed to your channel so I hope you will make some more videoes on this trimmer so we can just watch a video in case we forget how to do something in the future. 😊
