I realize this video is a couple of years old but as I only purchased the same oldest model a month ago then discovered I didn’t buy the same model as another well-know crafting CZcamsr, I found this video. I’m in 🇨🇦 so I, too, can’t seem to find blades. I emailed We R Memory Keepers and they assured me they do still make replacement blades. Anyone looking for them might want to reach out to them for help to find in your location. I’m awaiting a reply for where here I might be able to get some. Yes, there’s certainly “planned obsolescence” as someone commented, but I am happy that companies make improvements that work or make sense - as long as they still support/supply needs for older versions. I’m guessing The Paper Panda isn’t vlogging here anymore since no new videos since last year???

Oh my goodness, 3 yrs later and this is the best video on the WRMK cutter brands. It helped me a lot. I was looking for updated videos from you as they now have a third trim & score with a bigger cutter handle. I do not see where you posted in while. I pray that you are doing well and that we will see your work again soon! 🎉❤

Awww, thank you very much! I am doing fine, just life and time have stopped me from doing video. 😞 I’m really glad my video helped and I have seen that score and trim board. It is part of their line that has larger handles and grips to give people with limited grip strength access to do the crafts they love. Again, thank you very much for watching 😊

    Aw gee wilikers!!!!! 😑
SO, ME, the fool, bought the opened and used 'close out' older model for 20 bucks AS IS. AND the salesperson so nicely helped me get a 2 pack of new blades for it...(10 bucks) only to find out JUST NOW that they don't work on the older model!!! My blade needed changing but I couldn't get it out. Then I FINALLY found your video. Thanks for the review.
No wonder they were so happy just to get rid of it and not even tell me to not even bother to buy the replacement blades!!! Sheesh! 😡

I have had my trimmer for over a year and LOVE it!!!!! I have owned many trimmers and none compare to the newer model of We R Memory Keepers Trim and Score Board. The blades are extra sharp and can be changed easily. I love the scoreboard combination along with a trimmer!!!! And to have a place to hold my bone folder securely is wonderful!! Thank you Paper Panda for your review!!

Hi, this is my first time purchasing a WR memory keepers trim and score board. I did use a coupon and it was on sale! Lucky shopping day. The Martha Stewart trimmer I was using was ineffective on so many levels that I was frustrated every time I used it. I am going to buy blades every time I go to my craft store, so when they stop making them I will have a supply. Unfortunately, that happens way too often. Thanks for the demo and useful tips. Have a blessed day!

Thank you for doing that video. I love my paper crafting! I'm a senior citizen and know the day is coming that I'll have to go into a care facility and if anyone thinks I'll go quietly and leave my beloved crafty past time behind, well they just started a war! But I have started looking into what things could I take and save space, and have wondered if I should get one of those as my current tools have been well used. and some are needing replacement. Appreciate you did this.

Thank you for the explanation, I’ve seen both online and assumed one must be newer but I wasn’t sure which, at first I assumed the slightly more expensive was the newer one, but apparently not, so glad I saw your video first. I also noticed there is another version called trim and score comfort board, I think this must be the newest version, it looks like it’s just the blade handle that is bigger and maybe more comfortable to use.

Oh wow they really improved it, huh?! Thank you!!! I need a paper trimmer and there's a huge sale at my Joanne's right now so been eyeing this. From videos on paper trimmers I hear having measuring and room for 12" x 12" and a scoring option and reasonably portable/compact/light are great things to look for! I see some are like $98 so this is way, way easier on my budget with me preparing my day planner shop. I imagine this can't cut chipboard but that can come later.

Great info video, George! I have a gray version that’s in between the two you have. It has the locks like your older one, but it has an ever-so-slight groove sticking out from the flap piece (green edge) that seems to keep the paper from sliding underneath as easily. I didn’t even know they had a new version. I actually don’t use the trimmer part mainly because I forget it. I have a Tim Holtz guillotine. I should try to use my scoreboard trimmer more. Of course, my blades are like your older ones where the blade is is the middle so I wouldn’t be able to find replacements. I may end up buying the newer one because I like the darker number grid so much better. Thanks again for the “difference” video. I think this would make for an interesting series.

The new trimmer/score board seems to be better. New and improved. Although I think it's awful you're made to buy the new device because they no longer make the blades for the older version. That's a devious business practice in and of itself.
But let's face it, you had no choice but to buy another one.😳
For better or worse, I have a fiscar cutter (I went with the scissor folks) and a separate score board. So far so good, although I've only had it about a year. I love my score board. No seam in the middle.

I'm glad I found your video. I bought the older version of the trim & score board after watching Posh Paper Lady. (I did not know it was an older version until now!) I was wondering why she kept flipping that blue piece completely over instead of just moving it out of the way when cutting. I am really ling the updated features on the newer version. I think I will probably upgrade as soon as I can. My biggest problem has always been trying to score at 5 1/2". That is pretty much where it folds to close and it always throws me off. Have you ever had that problem and if so is it better on the newer version?

    • @thepaperpandacrafts2038
      @thepaperpandacrafts2038  Před 3 lety +1

How old is the blade? It could be that the blade is dull, try running it on some foil to sharpen it. I’ve tried that and it works sometimes. Also look closely at the blade sometimes paper fibers build up around it and that can cause it drag. Also if the blade is a little dull and you’re cutting against the grain of the paper it could be a pretty rough cut. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching 😊

I’m sorry. I eventually got a regular score board, I don’t like that it’s not compact but I don’t have to worry about the fold line. Thank you for watching 😊

I think it is the most obnoxious thing a company can do. Forcing people to buy their new product so they can make more money, it's called greed.

Yup, planned obsolescence. It’s sad but true. On a brighter note, thanks for watching 😊

    Not satisfied !!!
The ruler is the wrong way round, so don't hold tightly small precise edges that you have to cut

I am from Holland excuse, it is for my very difficult English.
What i mean is, if you want to cut very small edges , this is not possible, because the ruler is actually at the wrong side keeping the paper down, because now it does not hold the paper when i cut very small egdes. You now what i mean ?

I know what you mean, 👍 I haven’t found a cutter that is good at small edge cuts. Thank you again for watching 😊
